OM - I'm doing the Veera cardigan on the Pom Pom cover, and LOVE it. Had to make a handmade Excel sheet to keep track of all the cables because I cast-on at a summer cottage with no printer or anything. So old school drawing of boxes and signs ha ha :D
You girls are fabulous!!! Thank you for sharing your lives, yarn & pattern journeys, and humor with us. And, 2 hours 20 min. Is NOT too long - keep it going!!!!
The closing video was soooo worth the wait! Thanks for sharing all the beautiful things with us! I love seeing the yarns and bags and bobs that people make. So much talent out there.
Should are indeed my fave podcast. You are so entertaining and informative and when I watching, nothing gets done like dishes or laundry or cooking. You are the top priority.
So grateful to my friend Cherylee for introducing me to you guys. Great podcast and I got my husband's first practice sock riipped out (don't ask) from the DPNs and onto an Addie sock rocket and got a bunch of rows of the rib done while watching. Woo hoo! Happy Canada and vacations guys!
I looooove that you guys brought up artistic yarns by abi! My mom bought me one of her self striping yarn as well as the pac man picture yarn. The self striping yarn made beautifulllll socks. Once, I get a bit deeper in my knitting I am going to do the pac man socks. I can not wait to watch these knit up!
crochet projects that would be really cool to have. as I am at per share and you don't see much done like that for crocheting so I'm looking forward to seeing your beds and your shop. great podcast girls always enjoy to see what you've been up to. have a safe and fun Canada Day.
Great podcast ladies! I'm off to meet some knitty friends for breakfast and then on to our Saturday knit group where I will show off my awesome Hey Girl knit bag I received this week from Mrs. Brown's Bags! I had it filled with stuff for a MKAL about 5 seconds after I opened it. Happy Canada Day! I have never been to Canada but I have Canadian friends (that live in Guatemala!).
Happy Canada Day ladies! Your podcast is so much fun to watch, but you are huge enablers 😂😂 I get so excited about everything you talk about and show!😍 god help my pocketbook😋
I live an hour from the falls and just might come looking for you Jodi!! 😉😜 The Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds are so much fun! If you're wanting a less commercialized experience the American side of the falls has many nice picnicking areas for a relaxing trip! Enjoy your vacation!
Oh my goodness, I wish you loads of fun on your hols Jodi! I grew up just south of Erie, PA, and we went to Niagara Falls all the time when I was a kid! I married a Brit and now live in the UK , and get this - when my hubby was a boy his schoolteacher told the class that in winter Niagara Falls freezes solid, and it goes so quiet that no one can sleep for all the silence! And he BELIEVED this until I told him otherwise! Whaaaat!?! Gosh I love watching you two, you make me giggle! Happy Canada Day!!!
I feel like I need to add that my husband is an academic, he teaches at a university - not some easily duped dingbat! 😂 But I wonder how many Brits think the same thing about the Falls... 🤣
Happy Canada Day!!! I absolutely love your podcast!! You both are amazing! I'm a mother of 3 boys, and all they do is drive me insane lol. Love them, but they're crazy lol. I look forward to watching you both, it really brightens my day. Thanks for being awesome!! Enjoy your holiday!!
Happy Canada 🇨🇦 Day! We were so lucky to have been there last year (Quebec City) to join in the celebration! YES Tracie, we must embrace 🐸 🐸 🐸 I'm definitely looking forward to making that sweater! 🤗🤗🙋🏻
Absolutely love you ladies. I have some yarn I got from indie dyer in Canada. I am going to use it for the mal.. Haven't found a pattern yet but hopefully that will also be from a Canadian designer. Have a cousin who has lived in Canada for 20 or so years. So Canada is near and dear to my heart.
First off the glasses etc. made me laugh right off the bat! Second. The second you said "Embrace Frogging, I knew it was okay for me to rip out a 3 skein shawl that just didn't turn out right. I put hours and hours into it and I've been debating frogging. But when you said embrace the frogging, my hand went into the air and I said, "YES". I knew I was doing it. THANK YOU!
Sandra Nokes You can just feel when it's the right thing to do. I happily ripped out my sweater!! And i am so much happier with version 2.0. Congratulations on making the shawl decision. Use the yarns to make something that you ❤️!
@@traciemillar Looking forward to seeing Jodi’s sweater re-do. If you love the yarn and the project then it’s well worth frogging and fixing. I finished a cardigan and the sleeves, knitted top down, were too long. I cut off a chunk of the sleeves, picked up stitches, and re-knit the cuff, making it several stitches tighter and the ribbing longer (deeper?). So happy I did all of that because now I love the sweater and can’t wait for some cold Virginia, U.S.A., day to wear it.
Great podcast girls!! I always have so much fun spending knitting time with you!! You guys seriously crack me up! We are going to have to meet up at rheinbeck this year! Thank you so much for showing my pattern!! I wasn't expecting that!! 💕
This was my very first time with you girls. I always looked at the length of the episodes and moved on. I'm more like a 30-minute listener/watcher. But YOU TWO! I love it! This was wonderful. Entertaining. Informative. Fun sound effects. I need to go back and watch older episodes--even if I have to do it in 30 minute segments! I look forward to keeping up with you from now on.
I literally have Lemongrass in my next up pile!!!! I've got the yarn already, I've had it for months. I'd suggest being your knitting buddy for it, but I'm slower than slow when knitting. 😜
Happy Canada Day!! I always wanted to live there. I love your podcasts and hope to do some MALs with you. I really do have to learn how to navigate around Ravelry.
Awesome podcast ladies as usual! Oh if you are going to Niagra Falls, Jodi, check out the falls at night! It's lit up with purples and pinks!!! It's beautiful at night! Lots of lovely yarn ladies! Happy Canada Day!!! I'm going to Portugal for a month so I'll have to check out your next episode when I get back. (My fiancé's parents don't have internet access)
Tracie Millar Thank you, I will hopefully, I don't like not having internet though lol 😂 5 weeks without RUclips, I'm going to cry 😭 but at least I'll have my knitting! Can you take needles on the plane? I have plastic kiddy needles, but the yarn is expensive and I don't want them to take it away. I'm flying out of Toronto Pearson International Airport. Any tips? Lots of love ❤️ Marie
If your needles are interchangeables you can take the tips off, screw on those little discs to keep your stitches on and leave the cable in your project. If you use wooden tips you shouldn't have any problems.
Lindy Barnes thank you for the info! I called the airport security and I told them I was going overseas and asked about the needles, they said they're allowed in my carry on.
I just recommended both of your podcasts on the Knit and Chat Facebook group. I hope you see a huge increase in listeners!! Your enthusiasm is so infectious!!
I just spent the last half hour looking for more podcasts to watch. None of them grabbed my interest instantly the way yours did. The next 3 weeks can't go by fast enough.
I have watched this episode and decided to go back to the beginning to see the evolution of your podcast. HILLARIOUS, ENTERTAINING. I have a big afghan to knit and that is what I have been doing while watching the previous episodes. I am now watching Episode #17. I am having such a good time and getting lots done on my afghan - did I mention QUEEN sized. I went to David's Tea to get some good tea and asked about the Santa Spice (?) tea, but of course they didn't have any. They mentioned "Read My Lips" saying that it was similar, but as I haven't had the Santa's Spice tea, I didn't know. You will have to check it out. I have to go and get more 'yarn' for my afghan. Many thanks for all the enjoyable hours.
Awesome, awesome, awesome Podcast!!!! HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!! I think is't funny you talk about frogging! My mom on Ravelry is Froggerpro. lol I have a 4 day weekend and plan to knit as much as I can!!!
Thanks so much for your podcast!! You two are great! Would just love to buy one of those crochet theme bags from Mrs. Brown. I guess I check regularly on etsy to see when they are available?
Love you gals. Happy Canada Day, you were awesome in the glasses & headbands. Jodi I think there are some really nice yarn shops in Kingston. Also there is a lady there that bought a chip wagon truck and converted into a traveling yarn shop. It's called Purlin' J's Roving Yarn. You might want to check it out. I haven't yet, but would love to one day. Hope you have a terrific holiday. Can't wait for the next episode to see your summer knits.
Just discovered you today on Craftsy - you ladies are hysterical! Will attempt the zadie cal knit along- AND Ive got 41 episodes to catch up on-THANK YOU!
Hello ladies. Hope you had a great Canada Day weekend. I went to a cottage in Muskoka and had a much needed unplugged couple of days. Of course the first thing I did when I put my feet up after catching up with some gardening was to tune into my favourite podcast. Great and informative show as per usual but I must say I was a little sad that I couldn't be a part of the 3 month yarn club prize... too late. 😕 wish you could have waited just a bit longer for those of us who went away. Other than that, right on!!!
The three month yarn club subscription will be a prize in the June Sock Bash. Good incentive to enter? We have been given so many amazing things to send out!
Listening to you ladies while I work and just had to do a rewind. I'm like... what kind of mitts?! You said Shinny Mitts but I swear I thought you said Shi**y mitts! hahaha! #mindinthegutter
So I bought 4 hanks of Spring has Sprung for a summer top. I used less than 3 of them. So now I have to figure out what to do with the left overs. You can still get this yarn. I was getting low on the 3rd hank and contacted Ancient Arts to see if they could dye an extra one for me and was told that because this color way was so popular that it's going to be a permanent River City Yarns exclusive.
I finally decided to knit toe up two at a time magic loop socks with Turkish cast on. Just have to remember to drop the working yarn from the first sock and pick up the working yarn for the second sock.
GGs...May I suggest a great show for summer binge watching. It's an Australian show called Offspring and you can watch it on Netflix!! I think you would LOVE it. Happy Summer!!
So did anyone hear the Yarn Tart prize winner? Tracie said it was to be announced the day after this podcast. Where? It's not on Ravelry and there's no new podcast unless I didn't get the notification for it.
Oops it was a converted Fire truck not chip wagon. She has a website to see where she will be in Kingston or elsewhere. I've definitely got to check this out. I'm only a little over an hour to Kingston.
1. Happy Canada Day! #150 2. Frogging IS GOOD! There is NO sense in knitting something knowing full well you'll never wear it. 👙😜 3. Jodi, I had 3 mole hairs grow overnight. It's like freakin' magic, but annoying. 😡 4. Love your Canadian celebration shenanigans. Life it too darn short to behave ALL the time.🎉 5. Enjoy July and your Holidays. Family First. 6. Thanks for never thinking twice about sharing "YOU" with "US"! 💕💕
When you said you wind off for your heel, what do you mean? I'm getting ready to start my first afterthought heel with Turtlepurl yarn and want to get it right the first time.
Pam T I always wind a small ball before i cast on my sock. This allows me to put in the heel without cutting the yarn thats attached to the sock. If you have a ball with a strand on the inside and outside, you can just use the one that isn't attached to put in your heel. I always put in my heel before i start the toe....just my preference. Hope that helps!

Jodi,
Enjoy your trip! If you have time, check out Niagara-On-The-Lake. Gorgeous vineyards/wineries and so picturesque.
I have been making liners in my mittens for years. I do worsted yarn for the outside and sock weight for the liner.
Tracy Brines Sounds toasty
Listening to you ladies while I work and just had to do a rewind. I'm like... what kind of mitts?! You said Shinny Mitts but I swear I thought you said Shi**y mitts! hahaha! #mindinthegutter
Jenn Sheelen oops!! Definitely not that....Shinny is a hockey term

Have a wonderful vacation, guys!💜💜😎
my birthday is the 7th. I will be 50. so happy birthday to you and Canada.
"Speckle-licious" Love! It! Hahahaha

Happy Canada Day! How do you enter socks into the fo thread on Raverly?
Shel Tait Check the Frequently Asked Questions in Ravelry. They have some excellent tips
"Title Text Here" episode! LOL!
1. Happy Canada Day! #150
2. Frogging IS GOOD! There is NO sense in knitting something knowing full well you'll never wear it. 👙😜
3. Jodi, I had 3 mole hairs grow overnight. It's like freakin' magic, but annoying. 😡
4. Love your Canadian celebration shenanigans. Life it too darn short to behave ALL the time.🎉
Is it Canada Day today? I couldn't tell from the thumbnail hahahahaha.
Did I miss the ZADIE SWEATER KIT GIVEAWAY winner announcement ?
Crazy Knitter That was a giveaway in the Ravelry group. Yes...the winner was announced. :)
