SS Shieldhall Silver Steam Experience 28th July 2023

On board the Steamship Shieldhall sailing from Southampton out in to the Solent. This was a special Silver Steam Experience day booked on the 28th July 2023. I was involved with preparing the oil fired boilers prior to sailing, followed by a period in the engine room operating the triple expansion steam engines and following/acknowledging telegraph commands from the Bridge. Finally I had a period at the helm and on the Bridge as we returned into Southampton late at night and docked at Berth 110. ‪@SSShieldhall‬

Wow! What an experience! I didn't realise, when we were talking about it, that you had actually been down into the engine and steam rooms participating in making the ship sail! What an amazing little film! 😊 x

Great that you are filming this. Hope you continue. The noise level in that engine room is incredible.
It's very hard to figure out what's going on. Some subtitles or post-edited overdubbed speech would be a great help.
