Harry's answer will be all over the racket!
First, avail yourself of a racquet weighing no more than 10 ounces, then haphazardly slap on 2 to 3 ounces of lead tape. 😅
It is amazing that little bit of lead could make a difference
suggestion on racket for the the person getting back into the game is the DUNLOP CX 200 TOUR 18 X 20. Not a lot of power but control and spin
18 × 20 for a mid player? He about to quit in 4-6 months no?
@PzWazza this racket was originally $249 and now $100. Dunlop will be coming out with a new version soon so trying to sell off current version. I suggest using a softer string that provides control. Great racket at a great price
Good and simple
Very informative. Thanks.
I used lead tape to my lighter beginner racket to see if I was ready for a heavier racket.
I tuned up a 260gram racket to about 285 and I liked it.
So I went to the store and bought myself a 285 grams racket.
I must say, the 285 GRAM racket feels just way better by itself then a racket 260gr with lots of tape.
Adding lead tape to the hoop area will also change the balance point and make a racket more head heavy. One way to neutralize this effect is by adding lead tape in the tail section of the frame as well!
I always have a question mark of adding lead tape.
I want a 315g racket for stability
So if I add 10g lead tape to a 305g racket, is this racket as stable as the stock 315g racket? (just ignore the swing weight first) 😊🙏
Great vid - thanks
Are those Head Boom scissors?
I see that you use blackout xtd version? Is it softer than standard length blackout because it is longer?
Hey, can you make a video about what team racquects are? More spicific towards wilson I got a blade team v8 and I'm getting a pro staff team tomorrow, but I think lot poeple like me winder what these racquects are
They are usually just lighter weight versions of the regular racquet. I would just pay attention to the specs and materials used.
Where’s best to add lead for Babolat pure aero 98?
It depends what you want. HH or HL
I’ve used the previous version and I really liked just 1-2 grams at 12 o’clock. I didn’t need to counterbalance. You should check out my review of the previous version.
Why you just dont use heavier racket? In your other video you mentioned that you could easily use Wilson Shift 315 without any customization.
Something I heard people say… Is lead tape really toxic? Or should I ask “how toxic is it really”?
I came here to balance my padel racket more toward the hand. Thanks.
Do you ever just add the lead tape at six o'clock on the raquet head? I haven't heard anyone address that. Just as a base, without being on the handle. Does it need to be divided on the head?
Adding at 6 o’clock will increase swingweight slightly but keep the balance relatively the same and increase static weight. The other thing that it does is that it increases the stiffness in that particular area. I notice it and I don’t like that stiff feeling. Best thing for you to do is try it yourself and then take it out if you don’t like it.
That’s right. No need to check starting specs or weight of lead strips being added. Just slap it on wherever.
“Tinker with your racket”

Don't forget to wash your hands if you are using lead tape!
lead not a substitute for proper swing mechanics
Don't mess with it unless you are playing 5 days a week already and are a UTR 9 plus. I played so many great UTR 9-11s this summer who play stock and absolutely don't use lead, nor really know what their SW is. Practice more.
Hence they need weight to get better.
Ok Yonexfan12 I understand your comment but I kindly disagree because I’m a Jr Tennis player and I was playing with my tennis racquet stock but I needed a bit more swing weight on my racquet so I added a little bit of lead tape and it was a whole game changer
YOUR WRONG
@@LND-BS nope, I am correct
@@yonexfan12 more weight allows your racket to be less floppy, if your strong, so the stronger you get the more weight you should add, if you don’t wanna get another racket. If you strong and your racket is light, the swing will be more floppy
Speaking of simplicity, forget lead tape, just put on an overgrip, that is 5 grams to the handle, put in a dampener that is 2 grams in the lower string bed, and put on head protection tape on the entire length of bumper guard, that is 3 grams.
Now you have added 10 grams total, and maintained the balance by adding 5 grams to the handle and 5 grams total to the racquet head.
I agree
ਹਾਏ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ
To people watching this video. Stay away from lead and work on footwork!!! Lead will get you nowhere
Especially round your ankles. 😁
No . Led tape is great. And it works wonders. I win a match everyday. Especially when I put the right led. Just a bit a t the top
Led ,that makes your racket light up@@ThetennisDr
Unless you are a professional you don't need it.
I disagree. It is great for matching racquets. As well, if you are a racquet nerd or have a good coach who knows racquet, you can optimize the racquet for your playing style. The danger is when you do it blindly and then it is a neverending rabbit hole.
Middle age men shouldn't be using that much weight on their racquets. 😂
Depends
I agree 💯%
Yes, no one should, I played so many UTR 9-11s this summer with stock Pure Strikes/aeros, Ezones, Vcores, Blades, lol, people should just practice more
Whatever
