thankyou James,,I think youve made a brilliant job,,the only consolation is at least it wasnt the roof that reacted badly,,have a great weekend and see you in the next one,,👍👍
Followed this channel for years and it just gets better and better. Quick story. Many years ago I had a fiat with the usual rust . Prepped after filling and my mate who was a painter and decorator hired a compressor and we painted it in his dad's driveway. His dad wasn't pleased his plants and conservator had a yellow glaze over a wide area!. Sold it for what i paid for it though after a year of ownership .
The micra that didn't want to go up for sale. Very happy to see the old school channel skills being rolled out to get it sale ready. I wish mine was a four door!
I think considering what it was like James it's a good job and as we OG subscribers know your hard on yourself,I tried doing the boot on my skoda and made a crap job of it so all credit to you🙂👍
Loving the Micra progress. What a difference and once this and the Up go up for sale, you'll feel a huge sense of achievement. Great paint job in the Micra too. You truly are the rattle can king
The Hyundai i30 was originally sold by a school friend's garage in Derby, it's a fantastic colour, exactly the same colour as my ix20 look's like a great car James
Look's a good job on the Micra and good to see the Up nearly done. Both car's are probably going to give a better return now with the prices as they are.
Thoroughly enjoy the DIY Videos. I am guilty of trying to get jobs done in a day or two; definitely agree on the advice to walkaway and leave it alone! A roof wrap is/was an option too, James. 👍
Hi James That was a very good video, you put your heart and soul in preparing the cars .I think the few silly ocmments are crazy you do your best why are a few people so negative . 😁👍
Cracking job on the Micra roof. Hope the Wolf compressor proves to be reliable - it's one of those brand names that have been bought out/licenced and are now stuck on rather cheap tools - it's the same with some Hyundai badged products.
You did a great job mate on that roof, when you get your compressor set up, gun with a wide fan in 2k clear would do that roof in 2 tics, you'll be amazed how easy plus a litre of 2 k clear is 30 quid, just mix what you need, gloss is good to go with no buffing, just paint the whole roof no blend, no hassle, re that bumper, yeah you can't mix products, tbh I'd flat it back and bar coat it (isolator) again with a gun and 2k it's a doddle, tbh I'm amazed that you get good results from a can, the fan just isn't big enough, I'm willing to bet no one will even look at the roof tbh, I'd have jamed it up and just flashed a bit of paint over it, I sold a 57 plate micra last week for 850 quid actually.
Bit of a bugger about the bumper! 🤦🏼♂️ Roof looks fine though, as you say, for the price point it’s absolutely fine. Did have a chuckle though to see the AutoGlym polish though, bearing in mind your thoughts on their products 🤣🤣
That I30 would worry me the mileage is too low if it’s only be used for short journeys it’s going to be pain with emissions, diesels aren’t designed for it
What a scabby buggers muddle. Then there's the Micra 🤣. Good effort, it's good to mix things up for a bit of variety for you and the channel it's not all about getting top dollar as I can attest.
went to pick my daughter up from work this afternoon and going down Ormesby Bank I noticed a green K11 Micra parked at the road side with those green P plates on it signifying new driver.........I have to say I did wonder which You Tubers the kid who is new to driving follows lol
Great material as usual. Anyone buying from your dealership should consider themselves veery fortunate. I’ve live overseas on a couple of occasions, and car der dealers really are as bad as their reputation paints them. Big differenc here
A showroom full of high spec diesel/ petrol auto/ manual/ hatch/ estate i30's with low up to high mileage , would seem to be a decent business and not to many sleepless nights.
Hope your compressor is at least 3.5 hp mate as anything smaller hasn't enough puff for air tools and big paints, 3.5hp and 150 litres is what you want, on a full paint anything smaller and your waiting for the compesser to catch up and your paints drying, so you'll get dull patches, tbh compressor and a ramp you'll save 1000s on paying people, tbh what with farming everything out its costing you loads.
@@ChopsGarage yes bud, bigger is better, air gun needs a big puff especially, as you know you need to keep your paint wet, it's annoying having to wait for the compesser to catch up and if your pressure drops your gun won't work, back in the day I knew a guy who'd run down the sides of two cars at the same time as a party trick!
The i30 Estate looks very clean and presentable. Not much to do there. These are way better screwed together than the equivalent Focus Estate. And full leather interior too.
@@ChopsGarage you'll make 1000s with it bud, I took a job in for a customer last year, used bumper, wing, parts 80 quid, painted them, no buffing required, days job charged him 750,he was well pleased.

I know you are fussy but for the age and value of the car:- The roof looks bloody good!

Very commendable effort considering the state the Micra was in before you worked on it.

Definitely!
Amazing to see the Hyundai sold already! Thanks for the kind words on it and hopefully it's done you well 👍

Is the i30 a victim of the expanded ULEZ zone up in the Smoke? There are going to be some bargains from there coming up as the deadline gets nearer
I think they gave up driving iirc
When you remove the taped area is there a line of build up off spray mist or will it just polish off with the machine polisher
Polishes out at long as you only had a light mist of the fade out thinner at that point. Don't paint right up to the line
