I got to meet Robert Wall at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Expo in Columbus, OH. My business partner was working on a martial arts movie and we had a boot there. Wesley snipes Showed up. I got to speak to Bob wall when we were just milling around waiting for the festivites to start, and he singed me an autograph picture of him and Bruce and Him from Enter the Dragon.
Been nobody like him then or now period!!
There has been loads of actors like him that never had a fight, and poor technique.
These chics are funny in these reaction videos. They're so unimpressed and can tell by the way they act and the things they say. Ex. "That's Bruce Lee?" It is from Enter the Dragon. The movie came out in theaters a week after Bruce Lee died.
When Bruce lee kicked the glass out of Robert hands it shot up into Bruce lee hand and they had to stop filming for two weeks cause Bruce had to have surgery on his hands cause it was real glass.
Master Lee really got his hand cut in that bottle scene. You can see the bandage on his finger. Also Bob Wall has stated that the side kick at the end was real contact! Ouchee!!! Also, what we don’t think about is Master Lee had many challenges on the set from Hong Kong gang members that were chosen for the movie as extras. Yep all those people you see their were gang members except for those with speaking parts! He straightened a lot of the these guys out by using one person who as an example and gave him a good short beating. After that no one challenged him anymore. Iam an instructor in Master Lee’s art of Jeet Kune Do so that’s how I know some of these stories. Thanks!
What you said is (apparently) true, regarding the gang members, cut hand, etc. Also, word is that one extra who caught Bob Wall broke his arm such was the force of Lee's kick.

The old Asian guy was "Han", the bad guy in the movie. He was running a drug operation and used a karate tournament to recruit fighters for his organization. But Bruce was undercover and went to the tournament in order to find out about the drug operation. It just so happens that the guy with the beard had attacked Bruce's sister 3 years earlier, causing her to kill herself, so Bruce wanted revenge on that guy. Beard guy was also at the tournament and he and Bruce happened to get matched up to fight. It turned deadly when beard dude tried to kill Bruce with the shattered bottles.

This fight scene shows Bruce Lee using his Jeet Kun Do. Jeet Kun Do is HIS version of Wing Chun Gung Fu,which is less style and more focused on speed. This is also best proof of how fast he is. If you look at it more closely, there is less of a blur during the fight scenes, than martial arts movies of other stars. That's because they they had to increase the shutter speed of the film cameras, because if they didn't his arms and legs would disappear and reappear during the fight scenes. There's rare footage of him demonstrating at Karate tournaments before he went back to Honk Kong to become a star. In the rare footage his arms and legs would disappear & reappear. On top of that, if he hit you in real life it would knock you down and it would hurt

The end kick was full contact, before hand, Bob had bet Bruce that when he did the kick, he would not get him to move! So the moment comes, Bob takes up the 'immovable' stance and Bruce goes in, sending him about 15ft backwards and one of the guys who was supposed to catch him, got him arm broken from the impact. Also the nutsack shot you saw, that was without protection, though it was something that pretty much in all his appearances with Bruce... nothing malicious or anything, he was able to take those hits, which impressed Bruce, as very few could.
The challenge from Bob wasn't the only one during the shoot, he was often getting challenges, though one of them saw an end to them. An extra during one of the long hot days of the filming, as they were regularly sat around in the sun doing nothing for hours on end, jumped down from a wall he was sat on and challenged him, Bruce said OK, each have one shot at the other, the extra takes his best at Bruce, to which he brushed off with a shoulder block, no biggie, Bruce steps forth and plants a kick to the side of the extras face, however the extra thought Bruce had missed, so he went to laugh, but when he opened his mouth to do so, lots of blood and several teeth fell out.. nobody tried to give Bruce any more shit after that!

Bit of a fun fact about this scene..all of Bruce's kicks were real. Robert Wall accidentally cut Bruce on his hand while filming the bottle part in a previous take, so to get him back, Bruce used real kicks. Ofc the death stomp at the end wasn't real but yes the standing kicks were.

This is an old type movie but if you knew anything about martial arts..(which would've given you a 3rd eye) you would see that there's more going on then just what your 2 eyes see.
Okay the that *Shadow Kick **2:21* ACTUALLY hurt Robert wall.... they had to slow it down because he did the kick so FAST that the camera couldn't catch up... But Chuck Norris, who often trained with Bruce Lee said that's the one kick he was scared of.

The director HAD to increase the film speed of this fight scene.Regular film speed is 24 frames per second.At that speed Bruce Lee's arms and legs would literally disappear and reappear during fight scenes.And the fight was very realistic.Bruce Lee was so fast, there's no way Bob Wall could have hit him.And when Bruce Lee's punches hit they would really hurt
