This fills me with joy juice... I spent about 20 minutes talking with Mike over drinks later that night. What a lovely and gracious man. When my phone died, he took a selfie and emailed it to me.
His speech was particularly moving, as well. Hope it also gets uploaded.
Lol Scott, I spent a lot of my late teens watching and rewatching Dirty Jobs... Rowe really seems like a good hearted dude. Your description of him doing that just vindicates everything I thought.

He may have a lower range, but he's more of a Baritone than Bass. But, you are right! He has such a booming voice. And, to be able to sing with the Met Opera, as a 1st Tenor, that was my goal career choice back in high school. And, his beautiful voice makes him all the more sexier than he already is! lol

@@scottaaron382 there's a CNN interview that he did where he said the Opera union card was the easiest to get, you literally sang opera for it, so he got the opera union card so he could work in show business in New York.

Mike doesn't seem to have changed a bit since I first saw and heard him sing with his high school quartet for the Dundalk SAI chorus (which Freddie King directed for many years) more than a few years ago. Still warm and unassuming and loves his barbershop, and he sings a mean bass!!

What an amazing man. I once heard someone ask why Mike didn't run for office - congress or presidency. I think it is because he is too decent, cares too much about others, and has a significantly high IQ. And, he probably doesn't suffer fools lightly, so that takes him out of any equation dealing with politicians. Keep singing, Mike!

I was also in a SA chorus a million years ago. Listening to these quartets fills a place in my heart. (Right next to the soft spot for Mike Rowe)
