Lichen sample from a tree bark

Collected some lichen from tree bark this morning and mixed it with a little fresh rain water. First we take a look at the lichen with the stereoscopic microscope then we take a look at some extracted water under the compound microscope and yes we have a tardigrade but at the end there is something I haven't seen before so will be looking for an ID #microscope #science #lichen #microbes

It always amazes me that in most samples viewed, I can almost guarantee a Rotifer will be seen! Nice work! What are you using for a camera?

It's true they are everywhere, thanks for the comment. I use a raspberry pi HQ camera with my own software on the compound microscope you can see it in one of my early videos
