Imagine having a full set of these to play actual chess but then you put little prizes in each piece. Then you hold a chess tournament and at the end each player opens the pieces they've captured and keep the prizes.
It would be neat if it was part of a chess set but there were no duplicates. So only one of the pawns is a puzzle and you have to figure out which one. etc
The puzzle kept like that at the start of the video is such a cool optical illusion. Until you move your hand around it, it feels like the perspective of the video has changed and we're now standing. So very cool. 😊
I have these! My favorite is the Pawn. A unique/cool mechanism to solve! The Knight, Bishop, Queen and King use similar mechanism but with an added step progressively. The Rook is interesting, the top came off mine too! Not welded/secured strongly. Do NOT use superglue! trust me
Oooooo very nice, I have all of these chess puzzles on my desk right in front of me right now! Personally, I actually like the pawn the most haha the solution is more unique than the others and I prefer the sequential discovery style of it. I felt like the king should have had more parts like that
I think the pawn was my favorite. The distinct points between the steps as opposed to the first and second part being almost simultaneous. It sadly set a high bar for the rest of the series that made the final ones a bit underwhelming. Still, nice looking pieces for a desk or shelf so not totally dismissive.
The six chess pieces look awesome. Very shiny and aesthetic. All six solutions are amazing and enjoyable, but your solution from the pawn is my favourite.
I don't get the point of puzzles that no doubt cost a LOT (set is about 150 dollars...) and can be finished in a matter of minutes by just following the only moving part in sequence. And after that it will collect dust on a plank.... replayability is zero
Shelf pieces and conversation starters. For example, if you have a desk job where you receive clients, and you notice one of these catching their eye, you can just have it as an innocent little diversion here or there to break the ice.
wow i love how these pieces look i might even buy a full set to play a game with them, but thats if they are still around when im older haha really amazing concept thanks for the showcase!
You should contact the “Stuff Made Here” channel and collaborate...he can custom design an exclusive Mr. Puzzle puzzle with your input and you could send it to Chris Ramsey to solve. It would be a triple collab and set RUclips on fire.
Would be cool to have a whole chess set of these but it would be hella expensive! All the pieces (2 rooks, 2 knights, 2 bishops, 1 king, 1 queen, 8 pawns) for the black side would cost a total of $459.64 (USD)! The silver set would cost a bit less at $408.60 (USD), so $868.24 (USD) total without factoring in tax, shipping, and whatnot.
These things look like they would be accurate to scale enough to use them in an actual chess game. Granted, it would probably be expensive, but it would be worth it.
They need to sell these without the puzzle option as a Chess Set....I like the Size/Look and the Quality of these pieces, but at around 25.00 each and down, that would be one hell of an expensive chess set lol.
Last year I watched Chris Ramsay do a video on puzzles are similar to ones that you are doing this video they were a bit smaller. About the same size as your regular standard chess piece pieces. They also had small coins in them. I'm curious to know if the way that they were set up in the same with the ones you have are set up. And how they're opened and stuff.
@@Mr.Puzzle the set that he had were actually smaller than the one that you have. Because watching him do them I don't know if his hands are bigger than yours. But his set of the chess pieces actually looked a bit smaller.
As always, Hanayama looks great... But that is all you get. If I had selection of 9 videos of solving hanayama and 1 solving a 3d printed packing puzzle, I'd select the 3D printed any day. Had you included hanayama in the title, I'd never even bother clicking the link. Luckily, we are all different, right! :)
If it's your puzzle, you decide what level it is. Doesn't mean others will agree with you :) The manufacturer would also have a say and might change the difficulty to fit in with their expectations.
They seem a bit to brute force-able and far too similar. You would think they would figure many people would buy them as a set, so they would make their solutions as different as possible. I have to say, im a tad underwhelmed by these puzzles. I expect more from the company. Thanks for showing them to us!
Is anyone else triggered by the fact that they would make the rook a difficulty of one, the same as a pawn and the knight and bishop higher at a 2 when a rook is more powerful than both. And then they made them in a way that didn't correspond to their actual difficulty level. These are really just show pieces.
thats why i had it blocked in my mind... thanks... this was hunting me rn.... how mr puzzle forgot he already did this...cause he wasnt....was of corse RAMSHIT solving everything in 1 sec THOUGHTS AND EVERYTHING INCLUDED.... dont watch that scammer

Would make chess a but more jnteresting because youre adding material
These pieces are so beautiful, honestly I would use these them as a chess set rather than a puzzle set.

Yes, probably. The King solved the problem itself. But he's the King so...
I think it’s a level 1 honestly, You can easily solve these just by looking ahead, There’s no need to go back a step just 1 step forward and done.
Those were sadly underwhelming with very similar mechanics. The rook seemed the most unique.
In my opinion the pawn was the most unique
I think the pawn was my favorite. The distinct points between the steps as opposed to the first and second part being almost simultaneous. I kind of want a full set of these with black and white so you can have chess puzzles where you have to get the coin on any captured piece
Good "display value" but disappointing when it comes to cleverness compared to most other Hanayama puzzles
How does this not come in a full set of two sides and a board with hidden compartments and piece storage????

We're still in bizarro world where Mr. Puzzle is the one who just farts around with the puzzle until it falls open. 😂😂
That's disappointing. I had high hopes for something more interesting from the level 3s, or at least not solutions that could be accidentally solved
Correct order should have been:
Pawn, Knight/Bishop, Rook, Queen, King

The pawn seems more difficult than the rook, knight, and bishop!

Expensive for Hanayama's...They're like $20-40 each! Should be about $10 each.
I have struggled with the knight for so long i think i bent the pin at this point cause no matter what i do it doesnt open
