Thank you so much for this, Walter! I learned a lot from this. My friends used to say that the way I draw necks were wonky but I never figured it out why but now I see what was wrong. Also thank you for the composition tip, I just realized that most of my panels were on a straight eye-level. For the balloons, I mostly use the default balloons from Clip Studio Paint, I use the same one again & again but keep changing the size & structure (sometimes). I only use the balloon pen for the tail. I'll keep everything you've said in mind and keep trying to make my comics better. Hope others got useful tips for their own comic too. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for wanting to hear my thoughts about your awesome comic! I'm gonna go check out those default balloons. I didn't know they had their own...durr. Learn something new everyday.
@@jennifereichelberger1448 I love superhero genre! I also love your artstyle, it reminds me of cartoons from early 2000's - 2010 , not sure if it's impaired of any cartoons of that era, is it though? Also, I really want to make a comic about a superhero as well, so far I have the story and the main characters, I still need to design more characters, I also want to improve my background/environment design before I start
@@AudkdmdKv That's fantastic! You say, you have the story. Is it written down or mostly still in your mind, because I tell you that probably the biggest thing that helped me was writing it out. That way I was able to see where I needed to go back to the beginning of the story and drop hints about things that would happen later. As far as my style being inspired by 2000's cartoons, not directly, but I'm sure I've naturally morphed those cartoons into my style. I mean I loved Recess and Young Justice. I'm sure it has influenced me.
@@jennifereichelberger1448 Thank you for the insights, I'll definitely find a time to write it down, probably on google docs, since I have bad hand writing hehehe Also, Young Justice is a great series, I missed that

Hey man, I really love your video critiques!! they always help me go back and make changes to my own webtoon. My comic's name is "Perfection" (by PeterKall) it would be an honor to get critiqued. Even if you are not able to, just keep making quality content as you do, love ya:)
wow ,,,great this is wt i wanted ...to make my comic(World of zodiac) more like comic rather than picture book hahahhahaah u r great i learn a lot from this
First of all: I love your suggestions so much! But all the time I saw another Video of you I wonder If I can manage that anyway to get my Comic working. Actually I could start Immedentaly redraw my first episode (not just because of your critics) And I have the feelings I could find in 3 month again enough bugs I could redraw everything. Fixing it for the cost not coming further or leaving it?
It really depends on how much it needs it. Usually I say just leave it. It's done. Set in stone. Otherwise, you'll always go back, you'll always be wanting to change and fix. But if it is "broken" then you should fix it. BUT if it works and it's just not your best, leave it the way it is and continue moving forward.
Honestly, this is probably the comic where your rewrite of the description mattered the most so far. The original one made the premise sound extremely generic, all the stuff mentioned in it I have already seen done elsewhere and because it was written in such a matter of fact way, it sounded like it would play those overdone ideas very straight, so there wasn’t really a hook as to why I should read this one in particular. But mentioning stuff like the elements motivating the protagonist or the demon turning cute after losing its powers actually sound like there is some new fun to be had here. There’s nothing wrong with using ideas that have been done before as long as you put your own spin on them, and while that’s definitely what the comic does, the original description really didn’t sound like it. No shade to the author of course, summing up your story in just a few sentences is hard and you do feel inclined to throw in a bunch of lore that’s going to be really important at some point while also keeping the whole thing as vague as possible as to not spoil the plot. That’s why it’s such a good idea to ask for second opinions on this kind of stuff.

What's the title of your comic?
The Heroic Deeds of Nicodemus Branch. Thanks for inquiring! What about you? Do you have a comic?

This has been the most helpful critique for me yet! I'm new to action sequences so this was all very helpful!
Now I know how to make my webtoon better. Thanks for the advice
