- Ever heard of the L3/33? This tiny little dumb tankette was a mainstay in Italy's army in WW2... and I'm going to win the game using ONLY tankettes. Just for fun ;)

As a proud Italian American, I'll defend the Italian tankettes
1: Italy was mostly fighting Arab and Ethiopian tribesmen and the tank did that job just fine
2: They're suited to Italian terrain
3: Italy's economy had limited resources to work with, and light machine gun tanks that are cheap to manufacture are better than no tanks or only a handful of decent tanks
True, but boy did Italy lag behind with producing the semovente mediums later in the war that would have been useful to roll out faster!

Lemme just throw in there that an LMG mounted in a vehicle or portable mount / hardmount actually becomes a heavy MG.
So the carro veloce is a tankette with a "heavy machine gun"
Edit: Some might want to call it a medium machine gun, which my definition would closer adhere to but different countries have different doctrines.
Austria, where I am from, doesn't even have the category of medium machine gun we just have light, heavy and very heavy machine guns (or super heavy machine guns, the translation get's lost in the definition) for example.

@@Aldrahill Italy had a trade agreement with germany where germany was supposed to supply tanks to italy which they did to an extent, giving italy tanks like the dicker max and such which werent suited to italy's mountainous terrain
The italian tankettes were basically the ww2 version of an IFV, a light armoured vehicle that is supposed to fight exclusively infantry, which is why they had flamethrowers and machine guns rather than cannons, something italy could make with its limited resources and production, but still was effective in combat, they were never supposed to fight other tanks

You know he is dedicated to the smol tonk when he makes them the garrison when nobody would have said anything if he just left it.
If I didn’t do it, I would have been cheating! I also was originally going to use the irregulars as garrison, but thought about it and was like “NO IT SAYS TABKETTE ONLY” so I suffered instead xD thanks for noticing!

I'm afraid this is legally classified as heavy infantry... Considering how they have to push it.
If the germans built more panzer 4s it would change nothing, they didnt have fueld for nothing and their logistics was dogshit

It would have changed things with fuel, but not enough to change the outcome if that is the only change.
Panzer 4s use less than 1/9th the fuel as Panthers and 1/12th the fuel of tigers to travel the same distance. So for the same fuel reserves you either have more tanks being active or the same number of tanks moveing more.
Light tanks are actually OP due to their speed meaning if you ever break a unit you'll probably over run them.
Also Germany probably Sea Lion'd because you somehow managed to destroy all their fleet.
Too bad my max speed was 5.9 xD and yeah, I invested in dockyards so that must be it

0:14 Since the italian terrain was pretty much all mountains and hills,they wanted a very mobile and small tank that could support the infantry in the mountains,since they thought they are gonna have to fight again in the Alps just like in WW1.
They did have the supply lines for more panzer 4s. It's Purley a mentality problem.

Tankettes are my favourite armoured vehicle. They're stupid little things that shouldn't work but sometimes do. The Vickers VI was a classic example
I also had Germany do sealion once, and i sent over my tanks to help.

@@Aldrahill I actually had a different idea for it that it’s Fuel only Japan. All the divisions will need to use fuel. So motorized, SPGs, tanks etc.
I think support are fine like AA, logistics, etc. so if you think you can survive and not having to build refineries in every state.

I just witnessed it and I still don't believe it's possible
1. Germany didnt have enough fuel to man more tanks, they had misconception that they could just make few better tanks and it would cover lack of fuel to burn by quantity over quality 2. Japan attacked america because us navy was policing pacific ocean and japanese empire believed their manifest destiny ichi go was to rule all of asia and as us protested china war, they were clearly enemy and had to go. 3. Italians live in mountains and only african holdings were mountainous, tanks dont go through mountains, top of it italy never really expected ww2 to go off in a way it did, they expected large european war, so they only made tankettes as token development to support infantry, only thing they didnt account for was that their infantry was dogshit too.
Ironically their fewer 'better' tanks burned fuel at unfavourable rates. You could send 9 panzer 3s, 4s or stugs with the same fuel and the same distance that a single panther, considering a panther was considered inferior worth than 3 panzer 4s it's more than 3 times better fuel eficency wise to not build Panthers Irl.

At least "bad tank" in hoi4 add hardness/armor and maybe hard attack, unlike in tank games where they're useless due to not fighting infantry/light vehicles
Now re-due this on R56 because they actually have Tankette models to use

From what I understand, Japan attacked the US Pacific fleet based solely on the fear that America would interfere in their little Pacfiic conquest.
Later reports say it was unlikely the US would do more than just embargo Japan. Even if Japan attacked the Philippines.
It seems to be a theme with the US in World Wars. The enemy tries to take them out of the game before they even enter, solely out of the fear they may get fully involved. But that in itself causes the US to enter.
It is possible the US would've become a member of the Allied powers and joined the war some other way. Maybe Hitler would've done a Zimmerman Telegram 2.

Germany Not Building More Pz4s Was Due To Not Having The Manpower Or Production To Compete With Both The USA And The USSR.
Even If They Just Spammed Pz4s They Wouldn't Have Had The Men To Crew That Many.
Italy Thought The Next War Would Be Like The Previous (Just Like France) But Unlike France Italy Fought In The Alps So Heavy Tanks Are A No Go And Long Story Short That Led To Italy Only Building An Actual Medium Tank Considered A Heavy By Them By 1943
as an australian, I'd love to see if you could prevent france from capping using australia, and to beat the axis + japanese it's australian cruiser tanks (A.C. Mk 1-4), also known as Sentinel tanks
AC.mk1's design is: 1938 hull, medium cannon 1 (or improved small cannon), radio 1, heavy machine gun, additional machine gun, sloped armour, torsion bar, cast armour, gasoline engine (historically had a topspeed of about 48km/hr but ingame whatever you want is good enough) and about 65mm of armour (again whatever you want is good enough)
AC.Mk2's design cant be replicated in hoi4 (was supposed to use existing parts to make making the mk1 easier and faster) to accomodate, can replace the cannon with a medium howitzer for extra soft attack
AC.Mk3 is the 1940 hull, medium cannon 2, radio 1(orbetter) additonal machine gun, sloped armour, torsion bar, cast armour, gasoline engine and improved armour (can make a variant with improved howitzer)
AC.Mk4 1940 hull with improved high velocity cannon, radio 1 or better, heavy machine gun, additional machine gun, sloped armour, torsion bar, cast armour, gasoline engine and as much speed and armour as you want. (historically was around 45km/hr + 65mm of armour)
So now that you've done Italy tankets only, what would Germany without tracked vehicles look like.

Did u do more than one collaboration goverment mission? Because i suspect you did only one mission which gives between 30-45% and you need another mission or 2 to get near 90
Italy is such a weak country in this game for a major. The dlc just adds so much problems for Italy.

That colonial police event is stupidly worded. The option you didn't pick only automatically sets your African colonies to use colonial police. You don't actually get anything from saying no like you did. It just keeps the occupation laws unchanged.
