I feel like Shawn and Camila's relationship goes like this: they really are just friends but like each other deep, deep down inside and don't want to admit it to themselves. Hence the going out with other people and stuff, bc they know it wouldn't work out in real life.
They're smart enough to realize that they're not only too young and too new to their careers to start dating someone they really have feelings for. They seem okay with this state of limbo, and so should we.
