@@cintaminbunny Honestly the domino scene was always my favourite it's so over the top and a pretty bombastic way of introducing Bigweld. On the other hand it's also pretty depressing if you think about it.... it's showing how long Bigweld was in isolation since he got so many
Imagine watching Cars and worrying about the entire world, there's a Hot Red car, Baby Blue Porsche Gyatt, Great OST and a Great Life message. The only problem was the first sequel.
I grew up with this movie, watched it way too many times than I am willing to admit and it still shocks me to this day HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVENT SEEN IT! Its so wild to me because I watched this shit on repeat and it never got old. Its the same as Sinbad or even Treasure Planet, those movies were my god damn jam 🎉
Omg so true, I tell people that my daughters had thus on DVD and watched it almost daily. They loved 😍 it. Yet no one can ever remember the film. Its pretty sad tbh 😢.
I told a friend that robots was a better movie than Ghostbusters before I had watched Ghostbusters, now that I have robots is still the better movie. My brother near broke our Sinbad tape because it was his favorite animated movie.
@@tymothyyoung1530 I guess it doesn't help that I already have other movies I like each individual actor for and I don't like any of them in the ghostbusters role 😭
“Where’s Big Weld? Meh meh meh.” - Most iconic character in the film, wish so bad he had a redemption arc. He was basically just no thoughts and had terrible direction from his parents. My boi deserved better.
It's always been good, everyone just needed their tastes to catch up. I've been dying on the hill that robots is one of the best movies to come out in the 00s and I'm so happy people are finally seeing that.
That was how a lot of non Pixar/Dreamworks films were treated back in the 2000s. Titan A.E., Treasure Planet, Emperors New Groove, Meet The Robinsons, Iron Giant, Atlantis the lost empire.
I saw this movie as a kid in a discount $2 theatre (one of the ones converted from an old vaudeville theatre) that doesn't exist anymore because it closed and then got bought out and knocked down to turn into luxury apartments. It went from being a place where people like me that didn't have much money could go see a movie to a place where you have to have money to stay. Kind of a sad irony with that memory in mind.
i watched this movie recently with my friends and pointed something interesting is that Robots has a similar plot to Cats Don't Dance, both are which are follow your dreams stories, as much as i love Cats Dont Dance as well i can kinda get where my friend points out Robots does the messaging better just cuz of the main character's motive to following his dream is stronger, wanting to help his dad and other outmode bots
This movie has a special place in my heart cause my dad and I watched it dozens of times. He was always full of ideas and potential but never had the capital to create most of the things he really wanted to. He took the “see a need, fill a need” thing really to heat
Love the thumbnail (and this gyatt damn movie) but I have to say: Pig's hair keeps getting more and more fabulous each time I come back to this channel
The thumbnail, the Aunt Fanny, the Bigweld, the Obi-Wan, the Apple metaphor of the whole movie, the terror, the dread, everything. It all comes together well. The only thing that doesn't? The title. Why, Pig? Why?
I just re-watched it a few weeks ago and it was such a goddamn fever dream. Everyone in the writers room was snorting meth and their grandmas ashes, istfg
This movie is iconic, Robin Williams really made the whole thing even more enjoyable. The only thing that made me sad watching it was that I wished I had a close group of friends to have crazy exciting adventures with and that the whole 'you can achieve anything you want' thing wasn’t a lie
I work at Amazon right now. Just came from the hospital because of my muscles becoming overly sore to the point where I couldn’t move my left arm and was having heart palpitations. Pretty accurate.
I love how the movie is genuinely anti-corporate capitalism and the whole narrative is about the populous rising up against being cut out financially and being left to die by the rich elites.
This film is still one of my favourite animated film of all time for how imaginative and unique the world is but still feel grounded. The only films that I can think of at the top of my head that are as creative are the Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline. But both films gravitate more on Gothic Horror while this film is more Sci-fi and Dieselpunk which is quite rare of a subgenre of media that I wish could be explore more. Also, the Chop Shop music is a banger and the scene with Fender in the Chop Shop terrifies me as a kid.

This is one of my favorite movies. I hyperfixated on it as a child and young teen, even going as far as to collect the books and games that came out for it.
I don't know why but this reminds of the movie Repo: The Genetic Opera, where people have to pay for organ replacements due to a organ failure epidemic and they get hacked if they miss a payment. This makes me think of a potential sequel for that where organ replacement isn't enough anymore and the rates have gone up, so certain people have been secretly building prosthetics from whatever they can find(scrap/junk/whatever)and eventually that evolved into the 'Robots' civilization cos the robots needing spare parts and getting captured to go to the chop shop works the same way.
I love Robots. This film was such a massive part of my childhood, watched it for my Birthday way back when. If you think about it, Disney is a lot like Ratchet in how they treated Blue Sky. I would call myself a Disney fan, but not even I can agree with what they did. Buying an entire studio and firing at least 80% of the staff so that you hold their IPs is just pure evil.
