The writing on the Honeymooners was great, but it took this outstanding and talented cast to make it work. Still a great show more than 60 years after it's debut. And Ms meadow's was a comic genius on the show, along with Jackie and art Carney. Love Joyce Randolph also.

When my mother died in 1977 there was a woman who lived up the street her name was Margaret but everybody called her muzi for some reason she took a liking to me and she kind of adopted me. She was a spitting image of Audrey Meadows her mannerisms the hair color the facial structure the eyes everything, she was just a wonderful I will never forget her. She was a wonderful loving women from Ireland and I was a little boy came to the US from, the irony is she never had children she would have been a great mother.

No doubt about that. I don't watch predictable modern sitcoms at all. Why, when one has watched the Honeymooners, there is nothing to compare with it. I'm like Costa and watch the shows over and over. And, oddly, they seem as fresh and hilarious as the first time seeing them. And they personify a (austere) time period familiar to many who grew up in that era.

He's not just fawning over Audrey Meadows for the sake of the show, he's a genuine fan. I would have liked Bob to jog Audrey's memory on filming specific moments in the show that we all love and wait for. Also, he never asked her about the abrupt end after just 39 episodes. Thanks for the wonderful upload, Mr. Giller. This was a great accidental find for me. Usually, I'm watching your many splendid "Late Night with David Letterman" videos. Once again, you're channel is a treasure trove. Long live The Donz.

68 here. She looks great. Her sister was awesome too - married to Steve Allen for a long time.

Had the extreme pleasure of working with her on a pilot about the time this interview happened. She was perhaps the most gracious actress I have ever worked with. However a chain smoker. Ashtrash trays were hidden around the set!

What a wonderful story of being cast in the part of Alice! And how beautiful and charming she was in this nostalgic interview. The Honeymooners set the tone for so many shows that would follow, and develop their own personalities, but would never equal the charm of the original. Rest In Peace Jack, Audrey and Art! We love you all!

As I'm watching and loving this incredible in depth interview, it occurred to me you can never see an interview like this today without a studio audience laughing, hooting and wooooing after everything she said. All in the effort to sell it and make it appear not boring. Which is exactly why I never watch late night TV interviews today. Let's face it. TV producers, hosts, and audiences all suck now.

I’m glad she didn’t do his eulogy as Alice because the honeymooners and Ralph Kramden will always live on❤️

Enough can’t be said for Gleason, Ms Meadows, and The Honeymooners ensemble but enough also isn’t mentioned about the brilliant interviewer that Costas was. This show was phenomenal. Every decent podcaster who runs a decent interview today owes Later a nod. Best interview show of all time.

Cavett and Costas were very good interviewers, and only occasionally tried to show off how much they knew (which was a considerable amount). It's the format that makes the difference. You should only have one guest per show. But the Carson format was the favored format.

Thanks very much for this upload (and all your work), Don. I'm stuck in bed with a disability due to nerve damage, and have spent a good portion of the time over the last few years chuckling at your Letterman posts. "The Honeymooners" is also one of my favorite shows, so this interview with Audrey is a particular treat.

she was a dear lady - we thought of her and Mr Six (Robert F.) as our Continental Airlines family mom and dad when Continental was known as “The Proud Bird with the Golden Tail” prior to the disastrous Lorenzo era during the early 1980s. She designed the interiors on board Continental’s original four Boeing 747s and McDonnell-Douglas DC-10s when wide body aircraft were first introduced during the early 1970s. We miss you deeply Miss Audrey!
