Are weights in accordance with my target market? Closer to my target, higher the weight? I wish you had carried the video forward into how you're using tags and weights in email segmentation.
Good question, and yeah that would have been a great idea. Weights don't necessarily have to get you "closer to your target market", although they can! But I see them as a way to help you identify WHO the person behind the screen is to ensure your messaging properly aligns and connects with them. For example... Say that you're a fitness instructor and want to segment users by their current physical condition and goals... You may have a segment of potential clients that are "trying to lose weight", "trying to build muscle", "trying to get ripped" etc. All of these people are inside your target market, right? These are all potential customers that you would love to help out. But... You want to be able to properly segment them inside your email marketing service. Because the welcome email sequence that you're going to place each of them is different, right? Your welcome email is not going to be the same for someone trying to lose weight than for someone trying to get ripped. These are different people with different problems and goals. If you have a series of questions inside your quiz, and someone marks three answers that belong to 'trying to lose weight' and another three answers that belong to the 'trying to get ripped' category, you need to be able to categorize them somewhere. But right now, they're tied for both categories. This is where weights come into play. Each of your answers may be weighted differently if you think one answer strongly correlates with a specific category. Hopefully this helps? - Tony
Hello, is it possible to generate a customized results page? For example, in a diet quiz, if the lead provided their current weight as "90," their ideal weight as "80," and selected a "60-day" timeline, could a results page be created with a chart displaying this data?
Hi Rafael - with Thrive Quiz Builder, you can create dynamic results pages, though they are somewhat broader than what you’re describing. In the video, you’ll see that depending on the answers selected, all responses are weighted to place users into a single category. You can then customize what each category sees on the results page. - Tony
I would love to implement this in my business, in fact I worked on it when I first got Thrive Themes, but as a solo person in my business it's been challenging to plan out all the emails, content, offers etc. based on the segmentation. It feels like a lot of upfront work, with nothing to really keep the momentum going. I can see how a big business with multiple departments can relatively make this seem easy or even outsource it. Can you create a follow up video with advise on how to approach the following steps after building the test and segmentation to continue to add value while also making it profitable for a new and growing business? Also I would love to know different ways on how to actively get people to come to the website and take the quiz, I don't want to create something so massive and segmented and it not even bringing in leads.
Excellent points being made here, I truly appreciate your feedback. I'll definitely create a follow up video as more people are asking for it. But, I'm going to really quick address some of your excellent points. 'It feels like a lot of upfront work, with nothing to really keep the momentum going' I think this can definitely be true if you don't have traffic coming to your site and users taking your quiz. If you're going to put in the time of creating a quiz with meaningful questions that clearly allow you to segment visitors to better connect with them via email, then you need to have new users every day on your site taking your quiz. Otherwise, it can feel like you've put in a lot of work for nothing and that does indeed make one feel very frustrated and burnt out. 'I can see how a big business with multiple departments can relatively make this seem easy or even outsource it' Well, I think that part of this is true. It's definitely easier to have someone dedicated to staying on top of all of your potential leads. But, to be honest... You by yourself can also craft up a series of automated emails that automatically warm people inside your funnel and make it work. I've done this myself. Have each email have a clear goal, provide value, and let it run for a while. Test, test, test. See which emails are getting people to book you in for a call, or which ones get people to a checkout page and which ones don't. 'Can you create a follow up video with advise on how to approach the following steps after building the test and segmentation to continue to add value while also making it profitable for a new and growing business' Consider it done! 'Also I would love to know different ways on how to actively get people to come to the website and take the quiz, I don't want to create something so massive and segmented and it not even bringing in leads.' I have a feeling that this is what frustrates people the most. Putting in all of the time into building out your quiz, all of your different email campaigns only to realize that you're barely getting any people to even take the quiz to begin with. Really valid concerns. Taking notes, will follow up on this. I truly, truly appreciate you taking the time to share some feedback. Thank you! - Tony
Hi, I'm wanting to use thrive quiz builder for a quiz but I can't see a way to build the type of quiz I need as it's a combination between a personality type quiz and a numbered score quiz. There are 8 personality types and I need to give a total score for each one, and they then identify their three highest scores. So the personality quiz doesn't work as it's going to just want to assign one type of personality. The numbered score just seems to give a total score for all the questions when I need 8 seperate scores for 8 groups of questions within one quiz. I would prefer to stick with thrive suite than have to go and pay for a different quiz builder. Can you help me see a way that I can build a quiz with thrive that allows a numbered score for 8 different set of questions within the one quiz? Thanks so much
Mmmhmm... Yeah, it gets tricky here. But couldn't you perhaps do what I did in the video? I assigned weights to different categories. You could, once classified someone into a given category, show off the number of points that each category receives by default? - Tony
Hi Tony, I can see how tags work, but don't really understand weights. What happens if in question 1, the person answers and is labelled as an 'orca' and in question 2, their response labels them as a 'see-turtle'?
Hi there! If they've picked out more answers that belong to the 'orca' category, then they will be classified as orcas. But, say that they've picked out the same number of answers that belong to 'orca' and 'sea-turtle'. That's when weights come into play. The higher the weight of each answer, that's where they will end up being placed. Here's an article that explains this in a bit more detail: help.thrivethemes.com/en/articles/4497953-the-category-quiz-type-what-happens-when-the-scores-are-tied - Tony

Tony, I'm having a hard time watching your videos. They're more like advertorials than tutorials. Complete opposite of Christine videos that shows you point by point where she's clicking. Ditto with past hosts as well. You'll do well by watching videos by former hosts, they're easy to follow and implement. Your style is boring and not engaging at all. Lots of hands moving around but no substance. I watched the entire video and came out empty. Sorry!

So how do you build it?
With Thrive Quiz Builder! This is a bit of a broad question. Do you need help with something specific with regards to building your quiz?
Thanks for this really helpful video.👍
