Farm Rescue 2021 - Richardton, ND

On a cold April morning in 2021, the Sattler family began an early-spring road trip to purchase an auger for their farming and ranching operation. Just a few miles down the road from their Richardton, ND farm, a stretch of icy roadway had their pickup and trailer sliding out of control. The resulting crash very nearly took their lives. Wife and mother, Kim, sustained a few minor injuries, while husband, Duane, and 22-year-old son, Shawn, were ejected from the vehicle. Both were air lifted to separate hospitals to begin their long and difficult path to recovery. While away from home, the Sattlers were thankful to receive help from a few friends and neighbors during their spring planting and calving seasons. They also made the decision to contact Farm Rescue to assist with their fast-approaching harvest. Our volunteers were honored to lend support to this incredible family as they continued their healing.
