Just got my first 2 tags. Mom got them for a gift. Never fished salmon, not much of an angler, but I figured im living in my car and spend a lot of time by rivers. Just researching for gear and learning how to start.
Nothing like a day on the fishing trail. Really it's not about the catching of fish, it's all about hanging out with friends and family and having a great time. Guess the mackerel are running now off Nova Scotia. One of my uncles caught a bunch the other day.
Reminds me of the Hughes Brook area….for over 10 years, my Grade 4 students and I released Atlantic Salman Fry as part of The Atlantic Salman Federation Conservation Program…..my students always enjoyed getting the eggs in March, watching them hatch, raising the young fry and releasing them!

Unless it's a very well-known spot (big falls, for example) If the guys never took me, I would have never known ehere to fish in this pool. It's nothing against my audience or the viewers, its best for me to just keep quiet on the locations i film my videos 🤣
