    Dale always great videos.
    Would the testing be the same on a two cylinder like the HS1? You just have to make sure one cylinder is BDC?
    Merry Christmas to your family.

    • @montana2strokeracer
      @montana2strokeracer  Месяц назад +2

      The HS1 uses a labyrinth seal, so both cylinders are done at the same time. The low-pressure air will pass the labyrinth seal to the other cylinder even if new. Yes, one cylinder up the other down. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  • @zxspectum
    @zxspectum Месяц назад +2

    Definitely on my to-do list. I assume if doing twins, triples etc you only block off the cylinder you are testing? In case the labyrinth seal is leaking you know as the air is escaping out the other cylinder. Whats your method for multi's?

    • @montana2strokeracer
      @montana2strokeracer  Месяц назад +2

      Those engines with labyrinth seals, you do both cylinders together because the low-pressure air will pass the labyrinth seal, even if new. Those with rubber seals between cylinders they are done separately.

    Hi Dale , have you had experience replacing the fuel inlet pipe on mikuni carburetors? I was asking because i currently have a mikuni carb i am fixing up but it needs a new fuel inlet fitting and not sure whether to press fit ? I have not had good experience using jb weld to glue/seal so was wondering if you had any suggestions ? Thanks , Nick.

    • @montana2strokeracer
      @montana2strokeracer  28 дней назад +1

      Yes, I have had to repair or replace them when they fall out. I try to swell the tubing slightly and tap back in place, no glue used by the Mikuni as far as I know.

      @@montana2strokeracerHi Dale , thanks! do you normally just apply some heat with a brazing torch then tap into place? Thanks again

    • @montana2strokeracer
      @montana2strokeracer  20 дней назад

      I think I would be real careful with any kind of torch. You should be able to just tap it in with a piece of aluminum or brass between the inlet and the hammer.

    Would you have a link for the plugs

    • @montana2strokeracer
      @montana2strokeracer  29 дней назад +2

      Are you talking about what you use to plug the exhaust or intake? Those vary from bike to bike; you have to make or find things that fit. The hardware store has rubber plugs and plastic pipe fittings, and you can make a steel plate or aluminum plate to bolt to intakes after carb is removed. If you need to plug the sparkplug hole and add air there, break off the porcelain of an old plug find a steel tube that fits your plastic hose of your tester and JB weld it in the plug adapter. Just use your imagination you can find stuff that will do the job or make it. You can check this video out to see what I did to plug holes.
