- We've covered the 4 leveling zones and now only Suramar remains. For 10.000 years the night elves of Suramar lived underneath their magical bubble, but Gul'dan and the Legion knocked on their door. Grand Magistrix Elisande saw no other choice and let the demons in, but others like Thalyssra will do everything in her power to banish the demons and reclaim their city. I hope you'll enjoy!

A weird question to ask too. Has anyone actually tried giving the fruit to Runas ?
Monoriss Since he's fully withered it might be impossible to reverse it. Also, the others in Shal'aran probably have no idea who he is.

@@Monoriss lore wise, Suramar's storyline happens after the other 4 zones are done. So by then, Runas has become a withered and is beyond saving.
Listening to nobbel explain this shit make more sense to me than actually doing the quests for myself.

Andon Iliev i agree it feels refreshing but that is what alts are for arent they . the only reason for them is to repeat all that we have done but in a new way. and the second time there is no rush and you can actually stop to read for a bit.
He didn't explain anything that hasn't already been explained in the quests themselves. Try reading quest text and listening to dialogs next time.
***** I do read the quest text etc, its just hard to follow when I do 1 part of the quest then I do a Mythic or a raid or help a friend then I return and I forgot why i'm here and doing this objective.
I sometimes tell myself "I can probably just rush through the quest line and watch nobbel later"

I wish the Nightborne were playable! I understand they've all the Night Elf emotes but I love their models.
Brown orcs, wildhammer dwarves, high elves, all of the different tauren we've encountered. I don't think we're ever getting a sub race, and it certainly won't be Nightborne.
I mostly just want their decorative armor...the kind you see all the high-ranking nightborne wearing... It would make for a great cloth set!
id be contempted with atleast a toy or something that transforms us to look like one of them, would be more then enough for me.
The armor most of the female guards wear (the one with the shoulderguards, the bra, the loincloth, the wristguards and the ankleguards) would make a good slutmog for a hunter. The purple version would look good on a night elf and the red version on a blood elf.
not all of their emotes. they don't have a monk roll; they just awkwardly hover over the air

This whole Suramar story, and much of Legion, feels more like a reimagining of the War of the Ancients than something new set in the present. An ancient night elf city, a female leader who willingly sides with the Legion and offers them a magical Well, and a resistance that tries to oppose her and the Legion. Also, Xavius and Illidan are back and a tragedy happens to the Aspects. If the Legion ritual is summoning Sargeras through the Nightwell, it is even more similar. Gul'dan could easily be replaced by any other named demon general, and Elisandre could just as easily be called Azshara.
I'm not saying it is bad, but I just don't feel it connected to the rest of Azeroth we have known for decades. The existence of Stormwind and Orgrimmar at this point is wholly irrelevant.
I always loved silver moon and eversong woods, but I think suramar city has far surpassed them as my favorite. It’s sooo beautiful. Why can’t we have cities that look like that in real life instead of these bland, boxy buildings and houses with no character 🤷♀️ just a thought lol

Thank you for doing this series! Ive been plugging away at this storyline for several months when I have extra time from doing other stuff. Its a really rich, wonderfully written story and its nice to have it all in a compilation form like this for when I want to re-watch it!
Honestly, when Runas succumbed to his hunger and became a withered, I was genuinely saddened by it, Blizz needs to stop this shit and make non-essentials non-important! I don't need feels in the middle of my questing!

Nobbel you should make full story videos like you used to a year or so ago, I enjoy your voice and stories of wow lore! They're nice to learn about and hear when you're relaxing with a cup of coffee.
Seeing Runas "die" hurt right in the feels during gameplay, but then finding out Jim Cummings voiced him made it hurt 10x more :(
Runas' questline really struck me when I went through it. Suramar and her people were planned out so well!!!!

Great video Nobbel. By any chance does Suramar have an Elven translation? Thalyssra calls it "the Jewel of the Night Elf Empire" in the cinematic. Is that just a colorful narrative description or does Suramar mean "jewel" in some translation?
Nothing will top suramar I think blizzard really outdid themselves. Bfa was a dud but the zones were okay IMO. I liked zuldazar. Shadowlands is garbage so in my eyes legion was the last good expac and suramar was perfect
I would honestly say all of the stories of Legion around the various areas made me really happy playing through them.
I mean the Burning Legion was cool but my favorite Expansions so far are MoP, and Legion.
I've done this storyline twice, and I still don't mind watching it again. Thats how much I love the 'storymode' of Suramar.
what pisse sme off with this story that Blizzard wouldn't make an attempt to use the sunwell, I know there's all this mechanics going on within suramar, ancient mana and ley lines, but this a hunger of magic, the sunwell maybe couldn't heal them but if they included that in the story it would be much better, they could also renew the sunwell plateau and we could be using ancient mana or sunwell mana dropping from the demons there, or this could be one of the places to train the withered, , it could change, from week to week.

There is only one thing cant understand is why we never know the existence of Suramar city. Wardens are on the island, druids are on the island and no way of dalaran mages did not know about this magical shield of suramar. 7.1 scenario attack to suramar shows us that Elasande knows both kaldorei (night elves) and sindorei (blood elves). And even first Gul'dan and Doomhammer must have seen/hear this place as well. You know it is suramar the biggest city of elves great kingdom. And the shield is so huge that can be seen from very far distances and even some people must sense this powerfull magic. And there is a blackrook hold thing there and full of elves as well. What do you think about it?
Ley Energy... Isn't that the shit, Arthas needed to resurrect Kel'Thuzad? So could it be, that this Ley-Energy is "THE" main energy of everything, like our DNA is the most basic main building block of our body?

The idea to seach for quests or unlock with proper Reputation... I loved it. i loved everything about Suramar. The music, the atmosphere, the architecture of the Ciry/ Buildings, the landscape. This damn Awesome Story and Charakters. The Shal'dorei them self are gorgeous. Since i unlocket them, my Warlock was born and is still main. Worse fanboy i guess^^
Wait. Those Leylines we tap into or at least unlock in Suramar.. When I think of Leylines I think of Karazhan. Karazhan and Medivh. Aegwynn. She fled to Suramar. Is Shal'Aran the Guardian's Sanctum mentioned in the Chronicles? and with the 7.1 focus on Karazhan could Aegwynn make a return? or Shal'Aran serve as yet another Karazhan? I know we plant a big tree in the middle, but nonetheless. The plot thickens..
Is this the full story as of patch 7.0? Or is there still more which can be completed right now?

Is it just me, or arcane magic, teleportation and all that thing become much more "complicated"? Like teleportation "networks", telemancy, magical defence systems "online" or "offline" and such, magical terms mixed with mechanical and software terms. The lines about these made me think of rather the protoss of Starcraft than night elves of Warcraft.( also the lines of the guard could've been better with Nobbels voice/accent, like in the Lore nerds podcast :D)
Hello Nobbel. I was going around in Val'sharah and discovered this "Banshee" thing called Mandrel Nightsbane.. When I killed him he mentioned Valeera. I tried to find something about what their relations where but found nothing.. If You know anything about him or if I missed something I would love to know it :D Love Your vids.
But wait, we *do* have experience with ley-lines! Remember the whole campaign with Malygos a few years back? How he changing the world's ley-lines and drawing all the magic away from mages? Remember that? Apparently Valtrois doesn't give us the chance to mention that.
