Lynn ... we don't mind if you waffel ! ... it's a great idea to spend a morning cleaning out the refridgerator and pre prep the vegatables ... I always call it making my salad bar ahead of time as I eat a salad for lunch everyday ... less waste happens ... love your channel Lynn ... you are so easy to listen to.

Love animal pictures Lynn,and I have a lot.Carrots kept in water works fine,they stay crunchy,that’s how the were kept in the last restaurant I worked in,prep guy would peel the whole big bag at one time.When you won’t to use the frozen fruits,don’t let them fully defrost as they will become very soft,and not a good texture,home freezers don’t freeze fast enough,so the results are different from a bag of fruit from the supermarket,we froze fruit at the restaurant I worked at for my jam making,sorbets, ice cream,pie,and compotes,I would eat some of the fruit before it fully defrosted.By the way fruit defrosts very quickly.
I think these pics we have suit our decor, there’s a couple more now, 2 owls… someone else said that about carrots, 🥕 thanks for the tips, I really appreciate any that you share, as you know I like anything to do with cooking/baking. I’ll be trying that tip with the carrots for sure ❤️❤️❤️

Great food prep I’m impressed . If you put the strawberries , raspberries etc, even shredded lettuce into air tight glass jars like Kilner or even old jam jars into the fridge they keep for so much longer than bags I’d say up to 2 weeks . Xx
Oh I’ll try that with shredded lettuce, mine always goes funny….i learn something new every day, and I love it, so thank you for that tip ❤️❤️❤️

Hey Beautiful, I have got to get that music that was playing while you were prepping everything. You worked so fast when that song was on, and when it went off, you slowed down. I need to play that when I do housework, so I can get it done a lot quicker. I mean, you were just speeding through all that prep work, like it was nothing. That is a magical song for sure. LOL. Boy, don't you wish it would really work that way. How much more I would get done. I read a quote today that said, "Sometimes it takes me all day, to get nothing done". 🤣 This describes me on most days, I have to admit. You did fantastic, though. I adore your sense of humour you know, it’s just perfect for me, and that quote is probably one of the best I’ve heard lol . I really enjoy your videos, Lynn. I’ve only just found your channel and I have subscribed and I’ve been bingeing on your videos.I am going to try the veggie prep. I’m always throwing food away because it starts to go past its best. I’ve never thought about portioning up onions and freezing them. That’s a brilliant idea. I love your kitchen. I have the same hob and I think my units are the same, so when you’re working in your kitchen, I feel right at home. ❤

Hi Lynn yes I prep my fruit & veg. I live on my own so makes everything alot easier for me. I bought some Almond milk that I'm now using for my porridge. I'm trying to get my cholesterol down so made a few changes to my diet. Enjoy your lunch with your friend ❤
Hi Nancy, we have like minds, I like to portion things up as well, so easy on a busy day when you can just pull something out in the morning ready for tea. So we’re both trying to reduce our cholesterol levels, I still enjoy the occasional little extra, but overall I’m doing pretty good. I had a lovely time thank you ❤️❤️❤️

I went through my food cupboard this week and through out half a black bin liner of out of date food, spices, oils. What a waste, I have to stop buying so much!! Enjoy the rest of your week xx

I am hoping that you smelled the food that was out of date,because a lot of out of out of date food is still fine to use,not so long ago there were no dates on food,we just used our noses.A week ago I stopped a friend from throwing out half a gallon of milk because she saw the sell by date was the day before.

We had a nice catch up and the food was delicious, hanging chicken kebab yum… I’m on a mission this year, no wasting money, no wasting food and trying to eat as healthy as I can without going silly. I’m hoping to get the shelves done this weekend, I had Ida last weekend, and I can only concentrate when Harvey goes out, so 🤞I’ll get time. Oh I love peace, you enjoy yours when you can. I went to Tesco on Monday and I never bought any clothes even though I wanted to 😂but I did buy a vase and a diffuser that I didn’t really need but the vase was only £2 reduced from £28 and the diffuser was reduced to £1.50 from £12 so couldn’t resist a bargain and can always give as gifts 😂. Hi Lynn, never boring….a woman’s work is never done haha. Certainly the bag holder from Temu is a godsend for storage. Love it. The lounge is beautifully co ordinated and the hares are just the job for Easter and going forward into the year. Very cottagy (if that’s a word). Absolutely Tina, there’s always something that needs doing. Yes the bag holder is a definite help, and good for hanging the zip bags on to dry when I wash them ❤️ I think cottagy should be a word if it’s not haha much love to you Tina ❤️❤️❤️

Aw thank you so much June, I freeze my fruit on a tray first, just so that they don’t clump together, then I bag them. We’ve had that picture for years, but never framed it, so I’m happy that it’s up there at long last ❤️

Hi Lynn , such a good idea to prep all the fruit and veg . I have to wash all the fruit and veg first thing so I know I’ve done it , once it’s dry I put it all in the fridge except the tomatoes that I hate cold so they stay out . Lovely video Lynn ❤❤

So true Jax, much easier when you can just get it out of the fridge all ready for the pan lol. I’ve started to buy the berries that are cheaper because they only have one day left, I prep and freeze, then just take out what I need on the day. Thank you, we’ve done a couple more now, so I’m about to film the lounge refresh, need to do it when Harvey’s out really, then I can mess around more lol. 😂. I'm the same to be honest, we have a warehouse near me called the Company shop, where they sell food items etc with very small shelf life, meats, cheeses, pasties, dairy, all things fresh and tins also that may have been labelled wrongly etc. I go before I do my monthly shop and save an absolute fortune. It gives me extra money in my purse for other supermarkets. The hanging chicken sounds very nice xxx
Hi Lyn, I chop and freeze my veg for soup so its always ready and I also freeze bread in individual packs of 2 slices that way I don't waste any. I hate waste of any kind. Love the Hares they are cute, I think they are in the perfect place. Take care x Ellen ❤
Hi Ellen, oh you like me, I freeze my hubbys bread in half loaves, he eats a lot, but my brown gets frozen as a full loaf, and I just break one off when I need one. Yes, I’m so happy with them, I love hares ❤️

We like your waffling! I don't think I would remember to get my blueberries out of the freezer every evening ready for breakfast. I usually eat the pack during the week so no need to freeze. I also like your boxing hares picture. ❤❤
Aw thank you Valerie, if I forget I just stick them in the microwave, they seem to defrost ok. These were on their last day to eat in the cheapy section, I’m not a Scrooge, but occasionally I like to make use of a bargain lol. A little tip for you Lyn about the strawberries. Some told me a long time ago that if you need to cut them up to Wash them first and that way you dont get water into the cut ends of the fruit. I used to prep when there were more than just myself but now i dont really bother much.

Morning Lynn great Idea preparing your fruit and veg before hand how long does the cabbage last in the fridge already shredded? I was having problems keeping carrots fresh so now I take them out of the delivery bags dry them with kitchen towel and lay and cover them in kitchen towel in the salad drawer I read somewhere that they should be stored separately they turn other veg off. I'm waffling now 😂 your lounge is really cosy and love your kitchen enjoyed watching with my brew as always 🌹🐈 Xxxx
Morning Rosa, well we eat a lot of fresh veg so mines never in the fridge for too long, but it definitely lasts a good week. Someone once told me to store carrots in a container, cover with water, put the lid on,and just change the water once a week, I’m going to try it and see if it works lol. I always buy frozen blueberries, put some in a dish & cover them & put them in the fridge, then bring them out when I need them, I always think it's cheaper to buy them frozen, only saying.

@@juliegibbons4989You don’t need to blanch berries,or mangos,as we just froze them in the restaurant I worked at,we didn’t serve them to the customers,but used them in jam making, muffins,pies,sorbets,that sort of thing,but they were fine to just eat,better if still a little bit frozen,or otherwise they are very soft.

What a good idea to prep your veg ! How long do you think it will last in your fridge, I throw loads away every time I get new in ! Never even thought of freezing raw vegetables, thanks for yet another great video. By the way is your kitchen pale grey or white ? I think it's exactly the same as mine (if it is grey) it's called a skinny shaker , haha.
We eat such a lot of fresh veg, so it’s never really in the fridge for too long, and each veg is a bit different, I find broccoli 🥦 is the first to go funny, so I try to eat that first, but cabbage lasts ages, carrots too. The kitchen is pale grey, we got it from Howdens, and if it’s called skinny shaker that’s fine with me, cute name lol ❤️❤️❤️

Bought some Stay Freshbags from Lakeland, they certainly keep fruit and veg for longer. If I plan meals for the week invariably we might not fancy what’s on the menu. Or like today, I’m just back from my book group where I had lunch and now don’t want much for tea. Himself can have spag bol I prepared earlier. Trying to eat up all the stuff in little freezer so I can defrost and clean it.
Plan to only buy necessary items has gone out the window already. A fatal trip to IKEA, ( oh that’s only a few pounds 25 times) then ordered factor 50 face cream. It’s still winter😂. Also a long handled scrubbing brush for kitchen floor which also has a squeegee blade. Oh joy😂. The grout on kitchen floor has become discoloured. Used to be able to kneel but not anymore. So that’s necessary isn’t it? Great video as usual Lynn. Always satisfying to watch someone else work. Ive got two pictures to hang, my artist friend painted them for me. X❤
