I am not near my saxophone right now, but I love the idea of making the V sound for bottom lip. I just started last week and I have to my lower mouth guard to be able to practice for 2-3 hours a time or I will get really sore gums. I may be adding too much pressure. I will try this when I get home. (37 years old but never too late to learn!)

Another great lesson thank you :)
As a new player I have a problem getting the D E & F with the octave key, sounds really harsh, if you could help with this I would be very grateful
Keep up the good work I really enjoy your lessons :)

Thanks, the best I can describe it is that it is thin and grates, when I play it, it just sounds wrong, too high and raspy, hope this makes some kind of sense, I am new only 4 months in, I do appreciate it may be a combination of many things. I trying to work on them but this I am really struggling with@@LondonSaxophoneSchool

Double lip embouchure.....your thoughts? I tried using my top teeth one time. I guess I could handle it but it felt supper strange to me.

I did give it a try for a short while to see how it felt but I could not get used to it as I’m too used to the traditional way of playing.
Some people like it and if you have the patience to develop a callous on your upper lip then go for it.
Same as for the teeth on top, give it more time.
I’d say go for the traditional way of playing and stay at it until it feels natural😀🎷

Hi, my tutor Matthew Smith saxophone study, he plays with double lip embouchure, he not "using" top teeth at all. Is hard took him 15y to develop I but I kid you not the sound is I never heard elsewhere, honestly! I using my teeth but resto of it is his copy and works brilliant
