"What a shitty album to relate to" "I wish this didn't make me feel anything" Might be the most relatable 2 things anyone has said reacting to this, album leaves me speechless everytime 🖤🤍
Most people who reacted so far have been friends of Quadeca or big fans (except for Brad Taste In Music) but it’s nice to see someone thoughts who has no idea who he is. Especially since I followed Ben from his early video, watching him grow physically and mentally has been really interesting.
i discovered quadeca from his diss tracks with JMX and it’s actually ridiculous how much he’s improved since then watching him go from a corny youtube rapper to making genuine innovative music has been insane.
I discovered him from his Easiest to Write but The Hardest to Sing video. I feel you on watching him grow. It feels like I've grown with him. I was 12 years old when I found him and I am know 17 with a lot more experience despite still not having any. Quadeca is one of my favorite artists and I will continue watching him grow.
I watched that part of the movie just to see if this comment is true, and I am happy to say that I bawled like a fucking baby. God, and here I thought that listening to this album while walking through a forest was as emotional as this project could get for me, and I was proven wrong.
it’s very worth remembering that during the process of creating this album, one of Quadeca’s best friends Sad Frosty passed away. truly one of the most nakedly emotional albums i’ve ever listened to.
I'm on a binge, watching every piece of content I can on this album. Loved your reaction. You picked up more than most on your first listen. One thing you might consider is a noise gate on your mic to take out some of that white noise or atleast reduce it.
Born yesterday cleared a path in my brain that was full of fog. I've never had music impact me like this album has, and I'm grateful to Quadeca for opening my eyes to my own trauma. Thank you for reacting to it :) It's interesting to see what other people think of his written feels
I love coming back to this video every once and a while. My absolute favorite reaction to anything Quadeca has put out. I would love to see you react to his new mixtape Scrapyard if you haven’t heard it already! :)
this was such a great video! you may not have felt like you had a lot to say, but the observations you did share really nailed it. I saw another comment about this already, but most of the reactions out there knew this artist from his past rap stuff, so you coming at it with no preconceptions is really neat! (also, fully relate, I’ve been avoiding listening to this album in private cause I know it’ll wreck me lol)
First time watching! Since I uploaded my reaction video, they've been getting recommended to me. It's was great to see someone come into this blind! Love how you really felt and showed your emotion. I'm glad I wasn't the only one😅💕
Im pretty sure he produced most, if not all of the album. Considering he stayed in the studio 15hrs a day for this album I wouldn't be surprised if it was all self produced. Though i'm still hesitant to say that because of how amazing the production is its just unbeleivable
10 months on, and I'm still listening to this album frequently. It's nice going back and watching more and more reactions on this album, it was such an incredible album and 100% album of the year. I actually find it crazy that it's only been 10 months, it feels like I've been frequenting this album for years now. Pretty wild how much I like it.
such such such a good reaction tho, didn’t seem like you weren’t talking enough just seeing your reaction was very similar to how i felt listening to it for the first time
TYSM for reacting to this album, it means so much to the little nerds online alike myself. If you want to hear an album that, while doesn't follow direct concept, is an out of this world listen, you should give a shot to By The Time I Get To Phoenix by Injury Reserve. They were a rap group from Arizona, but in 2020 one of the band members passed away, which left a gaping hole in their sound, which is filled in this new album with abstract and glitchy production. I Didn't Mean To Haunt You is for sure my album of the year, and By The Time I Get To Phoenix was my album of the year in 2021. I don't care if u react to it/make a vid of it, I just genuinely think you might enjoy it. (also Quadeca's old shit isn't nearly as impressive/entertaining ~)
Like other people have said, it's nice to see a review that comes from an unrelated party so we can see an honest reaction to the album without interpersonal baggage. I've been following him since he was a FIFA youtuber so I'm not one to talk. Glad he's been growing artistically and that you enjoyed the project.
the unspoken tragedy of fantasyworld is something that renders the song devastating on third or fourth listen. i realized part way through my second listen through the album that the entire thesis of the song is that the fantasy world he tries to reach isn't arriving for him. he fantasizes about making the easy choice to end his own life because he believes he will be taken to rest and be free. the climax of the song, the way i see it, is his own suicide. he builds and builds this euphoria about this thing he had been planning for so long and imagines himself ascending to the place beyond the hill, but we, as the audience, know he cannot go there. the fireworks go off as he feels truly satisfied with dying. then, on cassini's division, we see his first moments born again as a ghost. there are no fireworks, no fanfare, no universal consolation, only lonely and familiar silence. he stops kicking and screaming and he turns around, covered in the same skin he already had. the afterlife isn't a fantasyworld, he isn't even really dead. he is forced to live on alone with the consequence of his choice, and watch the way it tortures the world he left behind. it's so raw, so cruel, so piercing. i this album looks me in my soul in a way that makes me feel naked.
I've seen a handful of reactions to this album and I have to say yours is my favorite. You really grasped the concept and beauty of this album. Your ear for music and your obvious knowledge of different genres is impressive and refreshing. You should be a bigger channel in my opinion. Definitely subscribed ❤
Born Yesterday is an amazing track in its own right, but watching the video of it while listening adds a whole other layer to the experience that made me tear up on multiple occasions. Insanely impressive album.
I love this album so much and it makes me so happy seeing other peoples love for the album. Every album he makes is such a step up from the previous one but you should still go back and listen to his last album From Me To You. It is so good and is still one of my favorites. Also in your own time you might want to watch the album movie for idmthy because it’s also beautiful
Bro this shit is crazy. Not that anyone asked but here’s my interpretation of fantasyworld: we know from quad himself that fantasyworld is a flashback. And I think that the song is from when he was alive, and the climax of the song is him killing himself. Cuz he says in the beginning ”I drove mountains away” and after the climax he says ”I float mountains away”. If u listen back and imagine the person singing not as a ghost, but as a person who has given up on life, u will hear what Im sayin. Like the line ”so why try to move a hair, when you barely exist?” can sound like a ghost saying it, but can also sound like a really depressed person who feels worthless. Shit makes me cry everytime. Btw idk if this is a common theory or not. Havent heard anything about it
yeah that's the general theory on it. He's reminiscing on what his life could've been. He frames his life goals as false promises and believes that crossing over to death is the only way he'll reach any kind of fantasy world. He drives away (could also mean he distances himself from anything tying him to his life) and kills himself as the song climaxes. At the end, he begins reflecting on this decision as he realises he's not truly dead, and tries to float back to his old life. "And I go, not in a rush" Seems like an abrupt, unsatisfying way to end such a powerful song, but it could mean two things. He's reluctant to go back to his family, scared of witnessing the consequences of his suicide. Or, as the genius annotations mentioned, he learns that a fulfilling life is only possible if one doesn't rush to end it.
Great reaction - subscribed! I would recommend you give the visual album a go as well. Especially for 'the memories we lost in translation', the film amplifies the emotional impact for sure.
Hella good reaction, it would also be late but he released a single called sisyphus that is what he's sort of known for currently so you might want to look at that
quadeca is god. Edit: hope you are feeling better than when you filled this vid, and same goes to the comment section. This shit hit me like a fucking 18 wheeler when I heard it because it came right at a really tough point. Love y’all
i loved ur reaction, live bon iver, he self produced this and spent like 16 hour days in the studio losing like 40 lbs over the project, and you can hear it
I Just heard of quadeca and listened to the album Was a banger Came to RUclips to check some music videos out and now got recommended your vid Gonna check out other vids 😎

It’s actually does haunt u
100% done by quadeca too, album of the year no doubt in my mind
for me this is a close second to JIDs album but man is it close
Personally I have the forever story over this
I have BC, NR and JID above this
Ants From Up There is above this and JID's and even the Black Midi record but this is really up there
Yeah idk, i was about to say Hellfire and Ants From Up There are waaaaaayyyyyy better imo
Wanna thank quadeca for simultaneously making me cry, giving me nightmares and letting me turn up.
seriously tho, going from knots to fantasyworld is like the ultimate de-motivator, but somehow it still works

Lmao Brads review was a roller coaster to watch

if you watch the movie alongside it, the fireworks in fantasyworld make crying an inevitability
that part feels so cathartic
Fr, for me the vids slowly getting grainier in The Memories We lost In Translation really had me in my feelings
exactly what i was thinking. on my first listen i was torn between watching the beautiful visuals or just closing my eyes and letting the song take me
I watched that part of the movie just to see if this comment is true, and I am happy to say that I bawled like a fucking baby. God, and here I thought that listening to this album while walking through a forest was as emotional as this project could get for me, and I was proven wrong.
really great reaction i'm glad you enjoyed it hope you're doing well after listening 💀i can definitely relate to the album and it's so crazy

I gotta say, the quality of analysis was very insightful and helped me understand music i thought I already knew, good video.
Loved this reaction, Iv always wanted to see somebody react to Quadecas music without knowing much about him so this was awesome to see. Thank you 😁
this has been my favourite reaction video to this album so far

Quadeca Self produced, mix and mastered the whole album. Awesome reaction 👍🏼
Edit: I guess he actually wasn't the one who mastered it, my bad
He didn't master it but it's still impressive that he self-produced and mixed this album himself
he didn't master it but he did literally everything else, its actually insane how much work and effort went into this project

It’s actually crazy because this guy used to be a RUclips rapper and now he’s one of my favourite artists
I still remember first hearing his diss track on KSI and was a fan ever since, I love it
In the last track, the drums sound like footsteps walking around an empty room!! It’s a very cool detail that added to the ominous story telling
Thank you so much for reacting to this album, It is not getting the reaction it deserves at all from any major platforms.
Surprisingly good album. Can't wait to see where he goes next

the static at the end of cassini's division is a reference to the 'i don't fade to black, i cut to static' line in knots
