A tip on using the brass caps: be sure that the rubber washer comes off with the cap and is not stuck on the bottle (you might not notice). That happened to me and when I went to start it for the first time I could only get a spark, no flame. After trying over and over, cleaning the orifice with a qtip and alcohol I read about this and checked. Sure enough, the cap washer was stuck to the bottle. Took it off, started the first time.
Thanks for the video. MR Buddy should definitely sponsor you. Only purchasing due to your video on it . Thanks again. This looks like it would be great for me to take up in my bucket truck when I’m working at night to keep my fingers warm while i work etc and small enough to fit in my tray with my tools 😎
I love my Little buddy. Fits in a back pack is light and works fine in a portable deer blind. Not an 18,000 BTU like my big buddy but works well enough to keep you from freezing. Great review thank you.
Thank you. I was amazed how well it worked! However, it won't stay in the stand, and fell several times. I think i will call about it. We live in a cabin with not even a wood stove anymore, and 2 electric heaters that aren't enough when it gets really cold. Our bathroom is not insulated and miserably cold... Hallelujah Chorus every use! So, i got the little guy for that room so we can shower. One other problem i have with it is that my hands are arthritic and it is VERY hard to use the start button. A knob is pretty easy. But since i can't use the wood stove anymore because of the arthritis, the Big Buddy is a nice alternative. The warmth is just as nice. With all of the gas explosions around the nation and a few RVs, i feel a little nervous about using gas, but i, personally, have only heard of one Buddy issue, and it wasn't the Buddy, but a mouse chewed hole that caused it! So, i really check my hose and connections every change of tanks. I used to worry because i thought you had to take the thing apart and spray soapy water inside it, too, but upon re-reading, i realized it was just the tank and connector to the Buddy. I have a pretty good nose, and on occasion have smelled gas. Sometimes it is at the end of the tank or bottle, but last time, it was a bottle, and i kept smelling it, turned it off, checked for leaks. I never found a cause. The next one was fine. We are still here. Someone said it can react with something in the garbage, causing a weird odor. I don't mean flammable stuff, but something a bit ripe. I haven't noticed it again. It says to never leave it unattended, but we have slept with it on... but we have lots of different smoke, carbon monoxide, and flame detectors, because it is a small cabin with no exit in our bunk rooms except to break a window. It's a hole-ee cabin, but i do crack the window some, too. I also have 3 extinguishers in our room! A little paranoid? Better believe it! This is a poorly built cabin i never should have bought... totally lied to about it. The only attorneys here are related to the seller and agent! It's the wild west here. So, we do the best we can. We survived almost 18 years. The Buddy makes it possible. I was bemoaning that if the power went out, how we could cook, but now that is solved with a little kettle and paint rack! Ha! Happy winter!
I really love mine. People need to realize it’s meant too take the chill off not heat a very large area. You will always have complaints some just want the perfect thing for them, I think it’s great. Finejob finejob #littlebuddyheater
I have the little buddy and works wonderful in a 3 and 4 man blind! I tilt to turn off much quieter than the switch! Once it has cooled down I wrap it in a towel or jacket because if face of heater gets any kind of moisture it won't re light! Take it to house after about an hour room temperature it works normal again! Just my experience
No. Having it attached to the unit is the same as placing a brass cap on it. There's no need to remove the tank. But when you do. It's always best to put a brass cap on it. I hope this helps.
It's too close to the minimum output of the portable and big buddy. You might as well buy the portable as it's about the same price. It'd be useful if it were adjustable btu and/or had a thermostat. I've long wanted Mr. Heater to have a stat.
You don't know why is doesn't get the love? First it is not 5000 btu only 3800 btu. It will tip over in your tent. It will go out but burn the tent floor or whatever it is sitting on. Then ther is the start button. Extremely hard to push and hold to get the pilot light lit. On mine you have to hold it for 3 minutes before it will stay lit. I would not recommend it to anyone.
You have to hold it 30 seconds max, not 3 minutes! But, yeh, the button and not staying in the stand properly... hot front when it falks, it is not a good choice, but... it is great quick heat away from anything it might hit if it falls. It needs a good and weighted stand. The button is too hard to use, i totally agree, but it is perfect for our little cabin bathroom when needed, but absolutely, never leave unattended or around kids and pets. Our little dog with a long fluffy tail lost hers!
I'll break it down for you. It's really simple. You screw the 1lb tank on and then push and hold the red button for about 30 seconds. Then, once you want to turn it off, press the black button.

Thank u for all the information.
Just bought. I hope I don't have to use it, but I may! You've given me confidence I can operate it. 😊
I’m glad you got one; hopefully, you won’t need it. :)

That’s probably the best use case I’ve heard yet! It will be perfect for that! Thanks 😎
It’s a great hand warmer 😀 I use mine for that!
I can confirm great deer stand / duck blind heater!
Nice! Thanks, Donnie!
How much light does it produce?
@@robertbush4808 not much at all just an orange glow

I agree! Thanks!
Little buddy gets my love! And I get it’s 🔥

Buddy flex so far has kept me warm all winter on low. I live in Arizona so it only gets cold at night.😊
I love the Buddy FLEX! Glad you’re staying warm 👍🏼
Keep it in your truck
Heat will o my go out during the winter it seems lol
@@larrydicus7822 that’s where it is now :)
Looks like a great deer stand heater!
I bet it would be

Hmmm cool 😎👍.
Thanks for the Video 👌.

You bet 😎
So, because the tanks leak, whenever you turn it off you must also disconnect the can and cap it? Then repeat and repeat?

FYI,
A 1500watt electro heater puts out 5150BTU on high.
!
Just correct!!

@@TheLakingcI’ll second the 3 minute hold time. I have multiple buddy heaters and this is the worst one I have ever owned.
I love mine! There’s videos on using a single bungee cord to stabilize it better.
It’s great for camping 😀
I cant find a 5000 btu Little Buddy anywhere..
I totally messed that up. It's almost 4K not almost 5K btu. sorry.
WASTE OF MY TIME! HOW ABOUT SHOWING HOW TO PROPERLY OPERATE!?!?

If the fuel keg leaks, why use it? Isn’t that dangerous?
Mine goes out in my car after about 4 minutes
