I don't care that much about Hanock, but it bothers me when people say that the reason she fell for Luffy was because he resisted her power when it seemed far more important in the story that it was his combination of strength, thoughtfulness toward Hancock's sisters, and willingness to sacrifice for others despite being a "Conqueror" that won her over. I actually give Oda credit for NOT writing such a lame reason behind her infatuation despite his less than stellar track record handling the ladies in One Piece, so when it gets labelled as "she likes him because he doesn't lust after her" regardless it makes me a little sad.

People react and change differently to even similar events. Hancock and her sisters went through the same horrible situation yet they have different mentalities afterwards. Her sisters grew distrust toward outsiders yet still retained their trust to their people. Hancock grew distrust toward everyone. She doesn't trust anyone but herself. The effect of her devil fruit solidified her choice since even her own people lust for her. I believe Hancock hates her appearance since it caused so many people to lust for her. So to cope with it, she takes on the bitchy attitude. However, Luffy was completely unfazed by fruit and her beauty. For Hancock, who mostly was lusted for by others, this meant the world to her which is why she fell in love with Luffy and truly cares for him. However, she still doesn't have her trust for others which is why she still has the stuck up attitude. But Luffy's affect on her will soon change that.

Think about it this way, Sandersonia and Marigold had a zoan type fruit, wich made them extremely resilient and gave them faster healing. Hancock is a paramecia, the only way she could survive the torture was by learning to manipulate people, wich obviously stuck with her.
Her kicking someone and turning them to stone sounds like the combination of her devil fruit ability and armament haki

How I view it is that, the love beam technique is the least taxing for her as it uses lust already present to turn people to stone. Other techniques require a certain degree of energy from her, like she forces a person to briefly feel lust for her when using perfume femur and slave arrow which then turns them to stone. The reason she uses these less efficient techniques is as you said, there is no garrentee that the opponent feels lust for her, so these are more combat applicable that the regular love beam.
I like to think that the Love Love Fruit has some kind of passive effect on the user's appearance with time in order to enhance the effectiveness. Kind of like, the fruit didn't happen to end up with a super attractive woman but rather she's more attractive than she would have been had she not gotten the fruit. Of course it's pure head canon basically but I like the idea.
Lmao. Granny Nyon annoys and disagrees with all of Hancocks' decisions, so of course she's gonna kick her out of the palace through the window XD. And I have a feeling Hancock was tortured more because from the photo that was shown, she seemed to be trying to protect her sisters.

I think she can turn anything to stone the love love beam is used to specifically to turn those with impure emotions to stone. I think the love beam is the basic attack of the love love fruit and when the user awakens the fruit or is more knowledgeable about the fruit they can use other techniques like pistol kiss
Good to hear things are getting better at work. We get antsy without Tekking content, too. To the point: Maybe this is more for a discussion about Big Mom's devil fruit power, but in this way they are similar, but I was thinking Conqueror's Haki plays a role in enhancing the ability, or to what extent it does this. Hancock has Conqueror's Haki and among the benefits, you can tame sea kings with it. It's an ability that forces others to bend to you and your will (haki literally). Hancock's devil fruit ability allows her to turn people to stone exploiting their base desires for her. It's called the "love love fruit" and love makes us do crazy things for the one we can't live without. Big Mom's power (who is also a strong female pirate who has Conqueror's haki) is that she can take your lifeforce from you if you fear her, and I imagine Conqueror's haki helps instill fear in prey before you reach in and grab handfuls of lifeforce. Basically, if you gave Hancock's power not to a fugly, but an equally attractive woman but she doesn't have Conqueror's haki, would it be equally powerful or at least potential to be equally powerful even without the Conqueror's haki? How about Big Mom's power to someone without Conqueror's haki, everything else being equal?
p.s. Forgot to mention those time-consuming entities from Dr. Who. Those things are creepy af.

Hancock is so underrated. She is a Conqueror in her prime. And her having the King's Disposition isn't just for knocking out fodder, it's primary function is to show the strength of it's user's Will, their Vigor & Drive. Those are what puts a Conqueror on a cut above the rest.
If Oda ever gave her a legit fight, I hope he shows that she is not inferior to the likes of Doffy or Kuma.

her love beam is wide range so it effect a lot of people ( but they must have a lust on her )
then the heart in her finer is ( narrow range attack which means she needs to attack one in one and it take more time to arrive and she must focused it to one person a time )
and the big heart is random but less accurate
so the differences is range and accuracy between her attacks

The way I've always viewed Devil Fruits is that they give your body the ability to do fantastic things, but how you believe they work and how you choose to implement them is a greater influence than the fruit itself. Even with Ace and Sabo eating the exact same fruit, they don't use the same abilities. Two users don't use it the same way necessarily. Blackbeard uses Whitebeard's fruit similarly because he knew what Whitebeard would do with his power, knew his stances and techniques, and he just replicated them. But with no knowledge of how to use the fruit, he might have implemented the abilities entirely differently. So in the case of Hancock, its not so much that the fruit's abilities are necessarily turning people to stone for various reasons, but she has practiced with her fruit and come up with these attacks and found what worked and what didn't.

Her ability to turn the generic people into stone with her lust might be an interaction with her Conqueror's Haki? Considering as a technique it is used to deal with many weak enemies at once, it is likely just her Devil Fruit ability interacting with that. That would explain why the gun and and physical strikes *force* lust upon the opponent, like cupid's arrow and her scent (Perfume Femur).

How powerful is it? Does haki counter it? Does it decrease willpower and counter haki? What would an awakening be like? Can the ghosts ever be touched? Can her ghost body be harmed in any way? Do you think there were any influences from Bleach? (not sure about the timeline)
It could reference the fact that lust is said to cloud & corrupt love & the fruit could turn those whose love has become corrupted by lust to stone.

Its bullshit, Hancock didn't care in the slightest that Luffy didn't love her, when her Mero Mero Beam fails she barely even react to it. In fact it piss her off, she just gets ready to kick his ass with a different technique and says she ''can't bear his existence''. She fell for him because he decided to save the three woman who were turned to stone over getting off the island when Hancock offered him that choice, she just had never seen that kind of selflessness, especially from a men. And then he protect their secret at the risk of his live even though they were still enemies at this point simply because Hancock had told him that they would rather die then let anyone on the island know about their tattoo that marks them as slaves. She fell for him because he was incredibly nice to her even though he had no reason to.

To be honest, I didn't care much for that Fruit at first, but after seeing it in enough action during the Marineford arc, I ending up liking it quite a bit (although nowhere near as much as the Flower Flower fruit). :)

tekking it's called a jetti, also leave a little more leeway in her direction she still has plenty of time to change her personality, one possibility being she starts being honest with her people and crew, if it works out for the better it could take a lot more tension off and out of her back leaving alot more room for empathy in that still mostly ice cold heart she has.
