Hey Tampa Jay! First, I live in Tarrytown, NY and went to Sleepy Hollow High School. Loved the video! If you love all things Headless Horseman, there is a great book series by Richard Gleaves. The 1st book in the series is Sleepy Hollow Rise Headless and Ride. It's a great series and you will recognize many of the places you saw in your video. Happy Vlogging-SK
I was born and raised (and still live in) in North Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow. I graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School in the 90's. The original old high school (since you mentioned an old school house) is Morse School on Beekman Avenue which was North Tarrytown High School. My father and many of my relatives are buried in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetary. My dads grave is in the area over that bridge in the back of the cemetary you went over. When my kids were little, their school trips were to the cemetary to see Washington Irvings grave and hear about the Legend. I went to the restoration (the pioneer town), the lighthouse and Sunnyside on so many school trips as a kid. I never appreciated being from this town because it was boring, until I grew up and saw it through my kids eyes and now through so many people who come to visit. :)
I was born and raised in SH (NT). Graduated Class of '84. I'm living in Newburgh now, but try to get down to town as often as possible. I'll be performing at Pierson Park on Aug 22 with Juke Joint, and again on the 29th with Billy & The Showmen.
Dude, great video. Especially since I was born at Phelps Hospital, Tarrytown! Grew up Westchester County and visited Sunnyside more than once. So cool to see it all again. Definitely visit again in the autumn. You won't be sorry!
Did you know Washington Irving popularized the nickname "Gotham" for New York City, and he is credited with inventing the expression "the almighty dollar". Just a little trivia for you. Love the video.
Hi Tampa Jay and Chris the girl 👧 I've just watched Chris video and now I'm going to watch yours I've watched the film about sleepy hollow it's a good film 🎥 always love watching your video love you both from Michelle over here in Nottingham
Did you watch the Sleepy Hollow TV show? I liked it just to see the scenery! It started strong, but kind of jumped the shark lol. I love the actor that played Ichabod Crane!
Awesome i did this last summer, took me 46 years but was so beautiful .whats cool is soon as u get off the train the city bus takes u straight to the cemetary very cool town
I love Tampa Jay's excitement about Sleepy Hollow, and looking for some "ghosts", I would do the same thing. Sleepy Hollow is on my bucket list! I love the stone of Susan, wife of..! I go to a lot of historic cemeteries in CT and RI, and of course, I am looking forward to trip to Sleepy Hollow! That tour you took at the home of Washington Irving is wonderful. Thank you so much for taking us along on your trip!
So exciting! ❤ The memories you two are making now will last a lifetime. Enjoy your spooky travels, and thank you both for taking us along. 😊 Love ya'll Hugs 🤗 and God bless 🙏
The Mausoleum you see near the top of the steps to the right during the19:03 through 19:6-7 time, is what was used and seen in the 1970 MGM Dan Curtis movie " House of Dark Shadows" for The Collins Family... This is where Barnabas was where Willie Loomis finds him in the secret room. Great video Jay...always enjoy yours and Cris the Girl's too.
It is such a great spot to visit and you saw all the highlights. If you ever come back like you said you want to one Autumn and want the really in depth cemetery tour let us know. We would love to show you everything we know like the graves of people who inspired characters in the legend, or famous people buried there too, or supposedly haunted graves like New York's Bronze Lady. You said you also like Rip Van Winkle, we can show you a statue of that character close to Sunnyside. We know how much you and Cris love Halloween, I do not know if either of you know of the museum dedicated to the holiday. If you ever find yourself in the middle of Pennsylvania in a town named Altoona check out Castle Halloween. We think you would both love it. It is a private residence who's owner has the biggest Halloween collection you have ever seen.
I'm pretty convinced that I was named Katrina after the Disney movie version. My grandma loved the name and the movie came out when she was a kid. I cannot confirm this as she is no longer with us nor did I put the pieces together while she was alive. My mom has no idea but thinks it's a possibility. Lol, whether it is or isn't, I'm just going to keep telling myself this. I hope to go someday. Thanks for sharing your visit!
I have only seen Sleepy Hollow and Terrytown on Google Earth Maps Street View but i really enjoy seeing this here thanks Jay and Cris oh my birthday is the 14th of October so I really enjoy watching this is awesome thank you.🇺🇲🎃👋🇺🇲
Loved it here too! I went with my parents in the late 90's we did Sleepy Hollow cemetery, Washington Irving's house and old dutch farm house and you guys would probably love Lindhurst mansion with original Tiffany stands glass windows! Hope you guys go to Salem too!
Fantastic vlog, Jay. This is why i watch channels like yours as its somewhere i may never get to visit but would love to see. Now i get to see it through your eyes

Welcome to the Hudson Valley Jay and Chris. I’ve actually never been out to Terrytown besides a training I had when I worked for General Motors. The train track behind his home run right by my town Hyde Park. I hope you enjoyed your visit to the Hudson Valley.
Since you are from Indiana, I bet you know about Irvington, the east side neighborhood in Indianapolis named after Washington Irving. It's home of the oldest running Halloween Festival as I'm sure you know! We are gearing up for the 78th year of it! This video was really interesting and fun. Thanks!
@@TampaJay I figured you had visited here! People do love their Halloween here and decorate like crazy. And then there is The Black Hats Society of Irvington...the dancing witches!

Def need to say NY more, so much to do here. Been to Irvings Home and it's amazing and beautiful. Love being by the river. Also Ichabod Crane has his own School District in Valatie, NY.
If you ever visit in the fall, you need to check out The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze. Also, visit Lyndhurst Mansion and see if you agree that it looks like the inspiration for Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion. There's even a circular greenhouse (but not right next to the house).
