    One of my favorite videos you've done. Enjoyed you throwing in other stuff for the video, such as the tornado damage, mentioning the birds, behind the scenes taking photos of snakes, feral hogs, etc. Def enjoy seeing variety in your uploads.

    Wow, Noah!
    Tornadoes are no joke there in GA!
    You’ve got a great memory regarding multiple sightings of the same specimen over time.
    Kinglets are such special birds!
    As mentioned before, your insights into the history of GA herps is astounding . . . eg. cottonmouths drying out, salamander fights, etc.
    Very nice vid, NKF. 🙂🙏🏻

    I’m from Maine, but come to Mississippi to hunt snakes.
    Finding this winter video very interesting, because I have a hard time finding Cottonmouths in areas of Mississippi where I commonly find them in warmer months once winter season rolls in. It’s like they disappear. I’d always assumed they must have moved to upland areas or moved from the lowland creek areas once colder weather comes. It’s very interesting to see these snakes out in the winter. I was stomping around for miles in the Mississippi creeks last month where I usually find many, but it was like everything was dormant and had disappeared. And it was in the low 70’s air temp.
    I really enjoy your videos.

Those salamanders were beauties and it’s interesting to see the differences. I just loved seeing the rattlesnake coiled up on the branch and how it didn’t care at all that you were there! Such a beautiful snake! I hope you are having, or had a great trip and I can’t wait to see the videos! Take care Noah and happy herping!!! 😄💙🐬🐍🐊

    I just came to see the "I had a 8 footer charge me from 80 yards away and chased me 1/4 mile back to my car" 🤣 no really, great video that proves they are not the aggressive distempered snakes some people say they are. ive lived in the south in the country next to a large pond and several creeks all within 70 yards of my front door and a 500 acre swamp 1/8th of a mile away and have had countless encounters with moccasins the last 52 years and have NEVER had one chase me or act aggressive towards me in any way. and I go out heaping at least once or twice a week to photograph them or simply to observe them as well as any other snake I may come across.

    Do you think that angular look of some Cottons is a natural phenomenon, and not due to malnourishment? A lot of South, and Central American vipers sport that look naturally. I wonder if that could be the case with some of our Cottons?

    • @NKFherping
      @NKFherping  Год назад

      All Cottonmouths have it to a degree when compared to the body shape of a Kingsnake, for example. Kings shaped more like tubes, and Cottonmouths are a bit more angular naturally if viewed in a cross section or head on. But it does become more pronounced when they have less body fat, like you can see with the 2nd cottonmouth compared to the 3rd.
