You can also put the watercolor paper painting in between a pillowcase and iron the back of it at cotton setting for a couple minutes all over. It mostly flattens it
Such a lifesaver! I have a small glass top table and use a piece of glass for flattening after dampening, makes for even coverage of initial weight. Still add books like you did. A very useful share.
Jessica I have found using an Elmer's extra strength glue stick and "hinge" my drawing paper to a foam poster board 88c at Walmart, rub the glues over every part of backside of my art paper thus making a thick non warpable watercolor " board" *the foam poster board may be 1/16 -1/8 so In other words gluing yor 140lb paper to cheap foam poster board eliminates the water & taping process.
Hey I’m thinking about trying this but on the peace in going to do it on has Marker and colour pencil l and I don’t know if it will smear it’s colour pencil on marker I’m think about doing the first one
It is! You don't want to completely saturate the paper (so that it soaks through to the painted side), you only want to dampen the back side. You could also try the iron method if you want to keep it dry.
You can use acrylic on paper. It's better to choose a heavier paper so it can withstand the moisture. Check out my next video tomorrow to learn more about different types of paper!
Already i have done subscribe and on bell btn. Happy to get my answer. Which type of paper appropriate for acrylic painting.jesso use or not privious time on paper acrylic painting. Plc plc plc my dear answer me.
Hi Jescia. I have over 200 giologic maps of many parts of Ontario Canada that show the type of terrain for the mining industry supported by His Majesty, the King that I received from a friend that passed. The oldest from 1906 to 1936, with books telling the story and pictures from the geologist, but most of them are duplicate from the 1940s to 1966. From 24" square to 36" x 60", most are in blue ink, but some are in colors and are all folded. My question is, do you know of someone interested in purchasing them? I can take photos to show. Ps: I like to keep some.

Wow great who knew there were a lot of ways to flatten a buckled paper
So underrated thank you so much!
I work at a frame shop, wondering how much heat/time you’d suggest in the heat press?

Did you mean blank newsprint paper? Seems dangerous to have any water around printed newsprint. Won't it bleed to anything the makes contact?

I have around the world and historical family postcards that buckled from high humidity and a lack of A/C in the house. I am hoping I can repair them
Thank you, very helpful!
I'm so afraid to try this with my gouache painting. I don't want the paint to reactivate. Is this okay with water media?

@@jesciahopper thank you! That makes me a little less nervous, I think I had to hear it to believe it 😂 I’ll try it!!
Thank you.. such a helpful video !
Praying this works to save my sketchbook 😭 i went camping and our tent flooded and unfortunately in the conundrum my sketchbook ended up on the floor
Very helpful!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Will this work on thin paper?
If you use actual newspaper with ink on it, will the ink transfer to your paper?
most likely?
Use clean unprinted newsprint meant for sketching on.
Yeah but what about mixed media due to glue.
Can I do this with a 1960s lithograph I bought at goodwill for 5 cents, but is worth 100s of dollars if I can get it back in shape? Lol
i need to flatten inkjet paper and spraying water would make the ink bleed :C
I am once again looking up book videos to flatten Dreamcast game manuals
I find this works best but I change towels until it’s completely dry
You can use a tshirt press. It takes less than two minutes
I can use acrilyc paint any paper plc answer?
