Fantastic video review. I have the 3000IS and their heated vac/blower ironing board 500VB. I really love it, it is a game-changer. When I looked, it was between this set-up, the Laurastar, and the Miele. Glad that I chose the Reliable. On another note, your detailed description saved me a tech call to Reliable Support. I couldn't get the boiler to turn on and the low water light was on after a refill of 50/50 water. I didn't even think about the reset button under the screw on/off cap as it is not really described that you must do this each time you refill the tank! LOL, Much thanks again.
I can attest to the fact that these do not rust. Due to a very busy work schedule, I took a two year break from sewing (crazy, I know). I then realized that I left water in my i500 tank the entire time! 🤷♀️ I cleaned it out with white vinegar and was very pleasantly surprised that there was nothing nasty in the tank and she works as beautifully as ever.
just purchased one of these irons. Our previous iron was a Rowenta steam 8510 steam station reservoir Iron which died 1.5 years after we got it and it was blowing out steam and water all over the place. I will never buy Rowenta again as they are not providing any customer service either. I hope one of these industrial irons will prove to be a more reliable option. I live near Toronto and I am encouraged that the corporation is close by. So far the fact that it is industrial iron takes some time to get used to it but I am sure it will be a better fit than any other iron we have used, we get lots of steam out of it.
Your video was very helpful as I determine which iron to buy. Was wondering if it's required to use the wand to lift the hose? I don't have the height needed to accommodate the wand. Was also wondering where you get the ironing shoe.
Thank you! I am not sure that you absolutely have to have the wand. It keeps the cord up and out of your way, so without it will probably be cumbersome with the cord in the way. I got the online from Sewing Machines Plus: www.sewingmachinesplus.com/reliable-2000ia-iron-shoe.php
It's been several months since you posted this video. How is it holding up still? I'm looking for an endgame iron and currently have a Rowenta DG8520 steam station, but interested in this as it truly seems like a buy-it-for-life product.
Do you know what the difference is between the 4000is and the 5000is besides the price and shape of the boiler? I can't seem to find any other differences between the two.
I can't find the difference, either! The specifications appear to be the same. I just emailed the company, so I will post the answer once I get it. Thank you! 🙂
@@SewcalSewcialite Thank you so much! I am comparing the features and specifications side by side and I can’t find any differences. I did read somewhere that the silicone knobs at the top of the 4000is is so you can place the iron on top of them. Which if that’s true I do like that option for when you aren’t using it. I’m leaning towards the 4000is because it is a bit smaller and of course the price!
@@deemorell6515 let's see what they say and what the difference is to justify the higher cost for the 5000is. I have had my 4000is for a several months now, and I love it! 🙂
The company replied with "The difference between the 4000IS and 5000IS is the form as you see it. . The 4000IS is slightly smaller and you can rest the iron on top of the boiler, the 5000IS is slightly larger, has a handle, and the iron cannot be rested on the boiler. Otherwise you are correct, the 4000IS and the 5000IS operating specifications are the same."
Hi wonderful video, any comments after two years of ownership? Maybe a follow up video after two years of use? Thanks in advance

The Reliable is indeed reliable! 😁

Oh this is good to hear! I have been on a sewing hiatus myself, nearly 2 months now 😩

I have had this iron for a while now and I still love it! I have not had any problems with it 🙂 It's pricey, it's worth every penny.
Very informative! Thank you so much!
That Iron is beautiful 👌🏽
It really is, and worth every penny!

Thank you for this review. What fabric is the iron diffuser pad made out of. I can not find one so thinking of making one.
Thank you so much for sharing this
is the boiler unit too hot to touch? do you think it could sit on a wooden shelf?
The boiler unit does get hot, I wouldn't touch it. I haven't read anywhere that it can't sit on wood.
also...would using spray starch on the fabric would be bad for the iron?
If you use an ironing shoe, which I highly recommend anyway to help prevent fabric shine, you will be fine 😊

I really love it and so glad I bought it. I highly recommend 🧵🌟
@@SewcalSewcialite Do you like this one or Gravity one? I saw you had Gravity one review.
Amazing explanation, thanks so much
Thank you!

I find this boiler has much stronger steam than Laura Star systems. I bought a Laura Star two years ago and it clog already
nice
That’s a powerful iron I use Rowe take and a tiny sewing area model enjoy 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈😍👌🏾👌🏾🌷🧕🏿
Thank you! Yes it is super powerful! 💨
