Great DIY!!!! You’re right, just order a new truss rod nut and chop the old. Brilliant!!👍🏼

Can't believe I was looking at techniques to put a vintage tint on a stark white male neck and finally found a solution to my upbow issue on my yngwie Malmsteen signature strat!! Thank you!!

This video is exactly what I wanted, so thank you very much, but sorry to be dumb but I don’t know how I then fix this into the truss rod, how does it work in practice? Could you do another video showing what to do next? Many thanks

Though the idea is theory very good.I followed, and destroyed my drill bit and the nut too.
The bit need to be a lot harder to drill through the stainless steel nut.
I'm just gonna get new thick m5 washer with a cut.

That’s a pretty good idea. Just figured out last night the truss rod nut was not allowing me to tighten the truss rod enough to straighten the bow out of the neck. Hitting the bottom of the nut between the Allen hole and the threads. Just need to find the right nut to replace it and create the spacer per the video.
How long should the spacer length be cut to? Your video seems to indicate a 16th or so.

I still haven't figured out what a maxed out truss rod is. Is it that the nut has screwed down to the end of the threads on the rod or that there is no more adjustment possible because one has run out of threads on the nut?

How thick / length would you suggest this spacer is to be? Estimating from the video about 3 mm (1/4 in)?

Is it necessary to ream the threads? I lack a drill press and was wondering if it was possible to just put a hack saw to the other side of the nut

If you dont ream the threads, you'll never get it in place... and if you do you'll never get it out. Maybe just try some washers instead.

Yes. It's really pretty soft and you're not removing a lot of material to get the threads out.
