They're still a relatively small band who had been opening for more established acts last year, most notably a couple of shows in Mexico for the Foo Fighters and GnR. This however was their own show, and the Teatro Metropolitan is an important venue in Mexico. This was their show, with a crowd filled with their own fans - and it meant the world to them. There is a beautiful picture from the end of this show, after they had taken their final bow. Pau (Pow! the drummer), who is always very strong-willed and professional has her back turned to the audience while she cries on her younger sister's shoulder, while Dany (guitar) raises her fist in triumph to the crowd. It's little things like that picture that have really endeared the band to me, beyond their endless catalogue of catchy rock songs and killer live performances.
Yeah, Pau is representing the brainwashed follower, to Dany's revolutionary/authoritarian leader in the first verse. A great concept for a song, and it was fun watching Dany tell the story of Pau stopping in the middle of a grocery store in Canada to tell her the whole idea for the song, in a flurry of inspiration.
@@nikkireviews all The Warning sings have meaningful lyrics, in this song the end on the word Ignorance to emphasize on this word. Pau confirmed this in a Q&A session.
Their concerts are an experience. The entire audience sings along. For more Pau singing, "Dust to Dust" or "Narcisista". Pau also does a stunning cover of Radiohead's "Creep".
You get co-lead vocals here with Dany and Pau. Usually it's either one or the other singing lead. Teatro Metropolitan CDMX is Metropolitan Theater Mexico City. Yes, I Am the Fire is by Halestorm. For a song with just Pau on lead vocals, try Dust to Dust. I would suggest putting Lovebites with Holy War or Swan Song and Nemophila with Dissension or Adabana back on the poll
Nice reaction. A great thing about The Warning is their lyrics are always meaningful. Most often social commentary or serious topics that teens are usually not writing about. Even their early songs, written in their early teens, have a sharp eye on adult topics, and then there is the great songwriting. Good idea to do the two versions. Thanks for doing these and whenever you are able to get back we will be watching.
Another song that is way way down on the list of their best songs - but touches on similar themes - is Koolaid Kids. The title is a reference to the Jonestown Massacre, where a whole cult killed themselves, and their children, by drinking poisoned koolaid in an effort to reach heaven. Since then, 'drinking the koolaid' has been a common term for someone who blindly follows a leader or group. You know, in case you aren't familiar, in which case the title might not make sense. Maybe check out the lyric video. It's a real C-tier song for the band, but it's still great, which is a testament to the stength of their catalogue. And it's a great showcase of their excellent lyric writing, which is not in their primary language.
Really like the idea, checking both versions gives that extra understanding of the song, and the difference it may have, sometimes studio versions are more to my liking just to listen, but to watch a performance and decide to go to a concert is always a most
If you're so kind to do another double feature like this I would recommend maybe doing the live version second. With most bands the live show isn't as clear, so the studio version let's you get to know the song first, and then the live version is all about the energy. With The Warning though the live version is superior in every way though, for pretty well every song. This is a great song and video, but it was a little underwhelming after that killer live version. Thank you very much for the honour of doing a double feature The Warning, and for taking the time to look up the meaning of the song as well. I just saw your message about your no-three-in-a-row rule. This is very troubling news. But I've got a great idea how you can make it up to us! If you do Enter Sandman by The Warning, there's actually three legit versions that would all be worthwhile doing. The first is a 2014 cover, when they were 9, 12, and 14 or so, which went viral and is ultimately responsible for them being so popular today. It's not great - they were literal children - but it means a lot to the OG fans, and 9 year old Ale playing bass is definitely special. The second and third versions are the remake of the song they did for Metallica's Blacklist album. It's a full re-arranging of the song, and the video itself is spectacular. It's a rare time where the studio version is superior to the live version, imo. However, the live version from Teatro (tee-awe-tro) Metropolitan is unique in it's own way, where they made it a little heavier than the studio version. So I say TRIPLE FEATURE! Obviously I'm joking, but I'm kind of not. Thank you again for this double feature!
I was going to suggest exactly this! 👆🏼Enter Sandman -the cover that started it all; then the video of the re-imagining of the song; then the live version at Teatro Metropolitan (Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City)
Haha well, thank you for the suggestion and since I already saw the music video for it when it first came out, I decided to do another double feature of when they were young followed by a newer live version, the Teatro one (which I totally mispronounced 🙈). I'll be posting that later tonight! 😊

Do not recommend Pau's cover of "Creep" without letting the person know that they need to let the video run alllll the way to the end. It's important! ;)
they do look and sound terrific in these live performance videos, hopefully I'll witness them performing in person sometime...I think the system you have in place, 3 in a row then on to something else is fair, everyone has favorites, but there's so much good music out there that's yet to be heard
Problem is that The Warning is not just any other band out there. No other band will make you think with what they are saying. So while I understand your rules about reviewing a band, I suggest that you, on your own, go down the rabbit hole & follow these sisters' journey from when they were introduced to classical piano as toddlers & the effect the video game Rockband had on them. Oh wow that's awesome you got to meet them! And they definitely would be a great band to see live.. Thank you for supporting my channel, I will definitely be coming around the The Warning again. 😊
You said "High Energy" - that's a perfect description of how they attack with their music and their unending passion. They will never "mail it in" in any of their performances as many musicians and bands have been known to do. Pretty impressive that they sound as good if not better live than recorded.

Dany and Ale are extremely talented. But Pau is still on another higher level. Writing lyrics, composing, singing while drumming like a beast. And then there is her mma fighting gig. Along with Dany's standup commedian gig and Ale's supermodel gig. Even better Pau vocals on The Warning - "REVENANT" (Official Lyric Video) and The Warning - Creep Radiohead Pau Cover
Ale and Dany write, sing and play instruments. Not sure I would have Pau on another level as all three are required to achieve what they have and will have.

Hi Nikki, we have exactly the same opinions as regards live vs official videos, the only difference is that I prefer to watch the official one first. I think all live performances will have some poetic license but in their early days they didn’t really do that. With experience of doing lots of gigs and performing with some very experienced bands they have had lots of conversations about performance with them and it is now really showing. New bands to look at: Lacuna coil, Disturbed, Ramstein, Lovebites. I’m not going to say any specific tracks, others probably will!
Pau (the drummer) is a tiny ball of energy, she is my favourite member of the band as she reminds me of Tigger as she bounces around on her stool. Although I wouldn't want to be her drum tech as she breaks sticks and occasionally destroys drum heads 😄
Another band suggestion if you're having a pause on The Warning: *The Pretty Reckless* (if you haven't heard them already of course!). I see they're not on your channel. The Pretty Reckless was the other band on tour with Halestorm and The Warning last year so the vibe you get is pretty similar to those bands, female vocals hard rock kinda thing. _A few song suggestions_ - try "Death By Rock And Roll" or "Only Love Can Save Me Now" for rock feels, try "25" for a James Bond theme type of vibe, try "And So It Went" which sounds like it should be a rock anthem, try "Got So High" or "Harley Darling" for a bit slower and more emotional rock. This is all a bit newer stuff but the old stuff is great too. Don't really have live concerts on their Official RUclips channel that I can see but there are music videos (some are vevo, idk if that causes copyright issues or not though...?). If you're interested in one I'd be happy to provide links :) (Also a fun fact: the lead singer is Taylor Momsen who played Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 Grinch movie when she was like 6 and was also in Gossip Girl. Great so see the transformation into a rockstar!) And if you already know the band then never mind! Hopefully someone else will read and give them a listen so my comment goes to good use haha.
Hey, you could add TW to Wednesday's Nightwish day. Suggest you also check "XXI Century Blood" video and live. TW are born in the XXI century, hence the titel and what they'd like to change. Written and performed when Ale (bass player) was not even a teen - Pau and Dany were mid-teen.

You need variety on your channel. It can't be all The Warning all the time. But, if you put them on a poll more than likely they will win. So, I have some suggestions to put on your pools or play lists other than The Warning: 1. Lacuna Coil (band): "Swamped" ruclips.net/video/NTy4Am3MQ4c/видео.html 2. Sleep Token (band) : "The Summoning" ruclips.net/video/go_wKkic2Fw/видео.html 3. Candlemass (band): "The Pendulum" 4. Karnivool (band): "We Are" ruclips.net/video/2q0hQaoHStE/видео.html 7. Karnivool (band): "Deadman" ruclips.net/video/AtJDPw30qOc/видео.html
I agree, I wanna mix it up some! Thank you for all the suggestions. 😊 I'm gonna add Sleep Token to this week's poll. I keep hearing about them but have no idea what they sound like. 🤔
@Nikki Reviews FYI: Lacuna Coil is similar to Release the Archers and Arch Enemy. Somewhat like Nightwish and Epica though not a symphonic metal band. Candlemass is metal. Karnivool is like Tool.

If you're interested in one I'd be happy to provide links :)
(Also a fun fact: the lead singer is Taylor Momsen who played Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 Grinch movie when she was like 6 and was also in Gossip Girl. Great so see the transformation into a rockstar!)
And if you already know the band then never mind! Hopefully someone else will read and give them a listen so my comment goes to good use haha.
Definitely a good suggestion. Saw The Pretty Reckless and The Warning in Houston…Great show by both bands.
Great reaction, you must react to Dust o dust live at Lunario CDMX, Pau is the lead vocalist in a powerfull song
I will check that out; got it added to the list!
🤘🏻🤘🏻
😁🤘
Hey, you could add TW to Wednesday's Nightwish day. Suggest you also check "XXI Century Blood" video and live. TW are born in the XXI century, hence the titel and what they'd like to change. Written and performed when Ale (bass player) was not even a teen - Pau and Dany were mid-teen.
I will have to check that out, thank you! And yes, I've been thinking about The Warning Wednesdays after Wacken...it has a nice ring to it. 🤔

Oh wow that's an interesting facts!
I do not know how Pau beats the stuffing out of her drums, does a run/fill at warp speed while singing perfectly with no breath pumping...SITTING down!!!! Abdominal muscles made of titanium?
❤❤❤
Paulina dares you not to focus on her. I lose every single time!

The Warning is not in the same bag with other bands.

It's too bad Amour probably won't see the light of day. People sleep on that song in my opinion.
You need variety on your channel. It can't be all The Warning all the time. But, if you put them on a poll more than likely they will win. So, I have some suggestions to put on your pools or play lists other than The Warning:
1. Lacuna Coil (band): "Swamped"
ruclips.net/video/NTy4Am3MQ4c/видео.html
2. Sleep Token (band) : "The Summoning"
ruclips.net/video/go_wKkic2Fw/видео.html
3. Candlemass (band): "The Pendulum"
4. Karnivool (band): "We Are"
ruclips.net/video/2q0hQaoHStE/видео.html
7. Karnivool (band): "Deadman"
ruclips.net/video/AtJDPw30qOc/видео.html
I agree, I wanna mix it up some! Thank you for all the suggestions. 😊 I'm gonna add Sleep Token to this week's poll. I keep hearing about them but have no idea what they sound like. 🤔
@Nikki Reviews FYI: Lacuna Coil is similar to Release the Archers and Arch Enemy. Somewhat like Nightwish and Epica though not a symphonic metal band.
Candlemass is metal.
Karnivool is like Tool.
what an underwhelming reaction
Sorry you didn't like it. I enjoyed the song, I just don't do the whole freak out reaction kinda thing. Not that kinda channel lol. 🤷♀️
Oh i am in your video ❤
