Matthew is absolutely correct when he said the hardest part is keeping your eyes on the road, not because of traffic, but because everywhere you look is so stunning.
Just did a very similar trip to this. Bergen to Alesund via Hardangerfjord (Alvik, Granvin), Voss, Sognefjord (Vikoyri, Vangsnes), Vassenden, Skei, Innvikfjorden, Hjorundfjorden (Saebo) to Alesund. Lots of the same places and very similar area. So much climbing ~3000M elevation gain a day and so much scenery. I ended up riding the E39 section north of Skei and Byrkjelo at sunset around 11:00PM. After watching this, I got lucky since there was hardly any traffic around that time and the valley was crazy beautiful at sunset. And that Gaularfjellet climb was no joke! Amazing trip and amazing area. Thanks to Norway for having me!
Ain't no two ways about it, I have to do this ride summer of 2023. (2022 big ride is the Pacific Coastal Route) That's how inspirational your episodes are!
Wait tii 2024, and take the Rv 17 (coast route from Trondheim to Bodø), than you have a treat: Bodø the Culture Capitol 2024(I hope the translation is fight , I am better in Norwegian or German 😉)
Your video popped up on my recommended- and gosh am I glad it did. Besides your physical and mental capabilities to complete this trail in the first place, you’ve managed to film, edit, and produce one of the most professional, engaging, cinematic, and at parts humorous videos I’ve ever watched on RUclips. I’m excited to watch your channel flourish… keep inspiring.
I'm running out of superlatives to comment on your videos though if I say that this was a very quick 16 minutes hopefully it should cover it. Congratulations in advance on hitting your 4,000 subscribers. And thanks, as ever, for taking the time to put together this video so we can share the ride.
I've been enjoying your videos, since I'm into bike touring, but also because 4 of my great grandparents come from Norway, specifically Sognefjorden! I've been hoping to see a video of you cycling through that region, and my wish has finally been granted! Thanks very much for this great travelogue! 🚲😄
Fantastic to watch as always. You push yourself to the limit but through some truly magnificent scenery. I am just in awe of your stamina and perseverance. Thanks for taking us along.
@@matthewnorway I would love to come back. I did a camping trip in 1990 and have driven up to Oslo a few times but there is so much more I would like to see. This summer I had planned a six week trip with Romania as my eventual target but now with the problems in the east that may be less of an option. Who knows I mat yet return to Scandinavia. It would mean a few less beers though! The prices are a little different where you are. We are having another "dry" week though in May when we are visiting Iceland. Our travels have been limited by Covid but we are now trying to make up for what we have missed. I will be driving though. Those hills in Norway look a bit steep for me. I did a few good rides in the Alps though when younger and so do have some appreciation for what you show.
Great movie - again. As always, so fun to watch. It is now only two months to my “Norge på langs” journey. Getting a little nervous, but your movies are a great inpiration! Keep them coming and best of luck with your Cycle Norway website project. It looks great. I really hope it will take off 🚀
Thanks Matthew, I certainly will. I’m going alone and plan to use abt six weeks (33 days on the bike) but won’t stress. Plan to have a rest day every fifth day. I’ll PM you, I have some thoughts on your Cycle Norway website
I climbed Stellvio by bike...it's almost 2000m elevation gain...but it's only one day. I did not continue on the bike ... but I would rather not get much further.
Hi. Love your videos. It's a bit weird listening to you loving our country as much as you do😊. To me it's more or less just another f'ing mountain... Weirdly enough, I like Denmark, because it's flat. Also, I think you got the names of the caravan people slightly wrong as 'Torunn' and 'Mari' are both female names☺.
I stumbled on this channel due to my interest & participation in cycling. Amazing content and stunning Norwegian scenery. I am hooked and subscribed. I encourage all who visit to do the same.
Woow… I really admire your Videos and your documentation, filming and narration motivates me to travel by bike more. Your videos are true artwork and everyone should see them to enjoy the nature you are able to show us! I‘m planning to cycle norway myself. What kind of tools do you use to plan your routes?
when thinking about how desolate their roads are and how frozen it all is, their roads seems to be of amazing quality a few cracks here and there but i have seen much worse around europe, even some major danish roads seems to be in worse shape than these remote mountain roads.

This series is incredible!
Appreciate it - it took a lot of time to ride, film and edit.

I appreciate it Biking 360. You know how long and frustrating the edit process can be! - I hope Thailand is treating you well ☀️

Plenty more videos around Sognefjorden to come!

Thanks Ivor, I see you have done a lot of travelling. Is Norway on your list for this European summer?

Lovely videos! It is time to make my bike ready for action and explore Hardangervidda :)
Have fun! 👌

Loved this! All the love from India! 💛
Brilliant story telling, information, narrations and the most comic editing hahaha! Keep at it!
Thank you so much 😀
Nature wonder 🚴
Amazing, i want to try!

Dag, keep me informed with your process up to Nordkapp, I'm excited for you! How many days are you planning. Are you riding alone or with others?

Happy to hear that, thanks! I use Komoot and ridewithgps. www.cyclenorway.com/services
How did you have the energy to fly a drone after that last climb. Again brilliant.
You just have to keep forcing yourself to film, film, film. If you don't you regret it afterwards.
What is the name of the plass in Norway u are in
You hired the Chipmunks to do your music?
They were expensive but worth it.

Well observed, I found them to be in remarkably good condition!
To get out of Flam you can take a train :) But I'm sure you did not...
It was temping but I cycled up to Myrdal!
Sheep lived there long before anyone ever got on a bike. You'll get your sign when enough of you have died, I guess.
