So, this would be one of last Celeron processor based products, since Intel is abandoning both Celeron & Pentium line-up, and replacing it with "Intel Processor" named line-up.
It was probably difficult sell celeron as a viable platform as we started getting i7 and i9 power houses (heck, even i3 is starting to look poverty spec, and that's coming from someone with a PC from 2014)
These really should be on core-U series chips. An i3 or i5 at 15W shouldn't throttle in a package like this.
@@TheRealAlpha2 it's all nameflation... i9 in laptops? yeah right... it's not an i9 but they try to upsell it by the same without giving the real thing... same with GPU's like 3080 in laptops... but performs like a 3070 at best... so much dishonesty in naming
and this machine here, Celeron or "i25" (whatever they rename it to make it sound more uber) is still enough for most people doing normal PC tasks (serious PC gamers excluded) with a mix of low end games to boot
Maybe for 14th gen
The pentium/celeron will hv a big jump in igpu
Obviously a bit of a niche case, but the company should really make a power bank with the exact same dimensions so it's easily stack-able. With 18650 cells we could fit seven cells for a total of 20 000 mAh in a single layer. That's ~74 Wh, or 10-14 hours of less demanding use.
pretty sure somebody would've thought of this and made a 3D printed case with the battery in it. I'd love to see that!
It's amazing that we can make computers so small now! I love the idea of micro pcs for offices or even schools there cheap but get the performance needed for those settings
It would be nice to see how this would work as an all-in-one tiny little emulation box as well. Maybe some emulator testing?
Was kind of surprised I didn't see any either. That's what drew me in too.
4:16 i love when this happens
Larkbox form factor with full function USB C. Appreciate any suggestions. TY
@4:15 some audio issues but great video
Like always thank you for sharing!!
And its even much more powerful then my pc that i use for 12 years!! Actualy my first pc, i got it at 2004 and replace it with a laptop at 2016, i just used that pc for writing stuff, not really need so much power to do that so dont hate me for not letting my 12yo pc to rest 🙃
I picked up 2 of the Q series for work. We use them for the meeting room PC's into 2 TV's. Those run great so these would be nice.
4:16 🤣
I would love to see how well Manjaro with the XFCE desktop environment would run on here. Also would love to see Chrome OS Flex running on here and how well that performs too. Also when paired with a Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad built-in along side 3 USB to RS 232 serial adapters and an 8 outlet surge protector and a small HDMI monitor this would make a great little PC for serial console connections to a 3 device Cisco networking stack of rack mount equipment if you have a little shelf to set it on.
I have the 3Q.
PROS
The best feature is the possibility to TOTALLY DISABLE Intel ME in the BIOS and the RAM DISK feature, also in the BIOS.
It also has custom RTC routines and auto-turn-on after power failure.
CONS
BUT, the M2 is NVME/PCIE gen3 *x2*, not x4 !!!
And it runs in SINGLE CHANNEL MODE only...
i need something like that that can run on power bank for 8 hours
would be nice checking ubuntu and hadware compatibility out of the box
What for u need ubuntu on it? If i may ask ;)
Great video as well as your other vids. Would love to see this run m2 out to a graphics card if possible. TY
This Display Alt mode is the most important thing for me now that I have nReal Air's.
Ayyy same, im getting one in preparation for nreals windows support
i like the mele i bought one when i had to move from spain to mexico so i had a pc with me till i bought a new one. i think the only thing was lacking is that it gets to hot and then it gets less workable. i think they should put a small fan to keep it lower in temp.
I saw on CNX-software that they are making the Quieter HD3Q with dual channel memory.
Thanx for the video. Would make a nice video player though a little expensive.
This is the perfect device if you need to run visual signage or powerpoint slides on loop to a tv or projector.
A nice use case for one of these would be to bolt it into the glovebox and use it as a travel PC
little bit of gaming on the go, streaming, easily get your emails, maps, etc.
Do you think something like this could run OpenSim locally?
Another great and informative video Prime. How's emulation on this?
To put it on the tv I have next to me would work very well haha.
I'd love to see something like Batocera running on it and see how some emulators fair on it. Also what was that battery pack that you were using? Having the battery percentage on it looks to be useful.
I was thinking that batocera would be a nice option to use on this small pc rather than crap win11 lol. Still a good option over the over priced pi4 now.
ETA should create a website with a live ranking list for the tech he reviews with different categories for emulation, performance, price etc.
Really enjoy your videos, but one comment I would like to make as regards USB -A, most specifically the mess that is the 3rd generation. Can you please specify in your reviews whether the USB 3.X are Gen 1 or Gen 2 (ie support data at 5gb or 10gb). Manufacturers take advantage of the ambiguity in the specs and naming convention and depending on use, there is a BIG difference between the two.
Another great video, it is nice to see mini pc that can also play light titles or older games, can it run some emulators too? Like ppsspp and dreamcast emulators or ps2 emu or it is too much for the pc like Quieter3c?
Thanks for all of your videos, I've watched a heap of these mini PC ones, and I think this is going to be my pick. I'm not gaming, instead I need a portable digital art tablet. My plan is to use this mini PC with a usb C portable power supply, and run everything on a Huion kamvas 13 tablet with a bluetooth keyboard. I take a ferry every week, as well as just need some mobility from my whole art station. The usb C monitor display is a game changer, because some tablet cables would end up being bulkier than this PC, and with usb C i can buy longer cables.
Would be nice to get a 16gb, but if all I'm doing is Photoshop and Excel, this is perfect and better than a laptop, which would require me to work at a desk, becausue having a laptop and a drawing tablet on my lap would eventually cause one to slide off and potentially get damaged.
Sorry to ask this, but what do you suggest is a good laptop for emulation? I'm to new to pc gaming and emulation.
Question, will most monitors today be able to hook up with just the one cable? If not what do I have to look for in a monitor to be able to use the one cable hook up? Thanks!!
My guy u must make a HP Dev One Full Review its awesome as well :)
A few questions:
- How does it handle Visut Studio?
- Can it be powered from a USB power source?
-is it ppossible to enable virtualization in the BIOS?
I think that I would pay a little extra and get the DingDian S3, which would be worth a direct comparison with this.
Most important question for this whole vid review is, what is the maximum power that can be delivered from the Mele to the monitor? No point for the viewers to buy the Mele and the monitor and at the end of the day, it just simply not capable of powering them up.
3:27.........
THIS is when the specs starts.
Take your time ETAPRIME.
Just curious, would this support a pair of webcams @1080p and two instances of OBS for recording?
I got similar Mini PC > MinisForum-JB95 with the same CPU, but you can choose more than 8GB Single RAM I choose 16GB RAM in Dual, 512GB Nvme disk and 1TB sata3 ssd. Windows 11 and second disk Linux. Isn't fanless and fan often start to run because is only 800Mhz/2.9Ghz but isn't that loud.
Cant wait for Quieter 3 with the celeron 6000 with min 16GB RAM in DUAL mode.
Can you put a USB powered peltier cooler on the case to lower the temps?
What's the Emulation Ceiling on this? Dreamcast? Gamecube?
Probably some ps2 as well
Can you please test if it can do 4 displays out if you daisy chain 2 monitors from the mini display port?
That's pretty good for something that pulls 15w max
Will I be able use this pc for pihole and SearX personal search engine setups?
Other than connecting the screen cable, I don't think I saw you connecting the keyboard and mouse. How are you using the keyboard and mouse on this type of PC?
Could we see batocera running to see what this is able to emulate please?
Only slightly bigger than a Pi, nice
With my minisforum um690s I can lock the tdp to 15 watts aswell, it normally runs at 45-54w so while running that configuration it is very silent. It also idles around 4 watts with gaming pulling all 15watts. Gaming performance is also very good at 15watts, and it doesnt get hotter than 50 celcius. Now in case you want to do 8k 60 streaming, or play more demanding games, like doom eternal ultra settings, 1080p stable 60, you'll need to up the tdp to 35-45watts. But it's still all in one package, with mix and match.
If you can get one for a good price it might be worth buying.
Best test
So I just purchased this one, have not gotten it yet, but I have used a another recommendation from you earlier this year and bought a Lenovo M93p liter computer and it caused me to buy another one with a 7th gen processor. Use both of them with a dual-boot Windows 10 and Kali on the M93p version work out amazing, bought it cause the Rasperry Pies were to expensive and couldn’t get them and I wanted to run AdGuard Home on my network. The M710q I run Windows 11 and Debian Linux on, but Debian was so hard to get everything to work cause of the Proprietary Driver issues.
I am wanting to see how this would handle Debian Bookworm. Is there a way you can do a video on how hard it would be to install it and how well it runs?
I’m wanting to use these type of computers instead of buying a Pie.
that singular m.2 slot makes me very interested to try an egpu on
Thank you for the review! :) Could a USB C touchscreen turn it into a Windows tablet? The idea behind the question (just for context), was to use it as a telescope mounted mini pc to controll the telescope mount, camera ect. and just having one USB C cable to a touchscreen instead of a whole notebook for a VNC session over WiFi.
Yes it does :)
I was on the fence between this Quieter3C and the older Quieter3Q. For anyone wondering, although the cpu and ram are the same, for whatver reason the Quieter3Q is faster. This was confirmed by another review I saw and they did benchmarking of both.
Thanks, that's good to know.
I just recently got the 3Q, I'm happy with it.
Slower one should have lower temps to keep near components to work longer. Wifi and SSD is among what may break first, then capacitors.
I think also just the type C and mini display port gives it another benefit. Most who would buy these are looking for power consumption and probably a better option then buying a Pi.
I would love to see how Ubuntu handles on it. I would run one with windows and mine with Ubuntu. I am planning on picking one up either way as a low power alternative to my fiancé's 1000W gaming machine...that she mostly uses for watching netflix. with power prices doubling in my area this winter.
That stroke xd
Can you recommend a Mini PC For Programming and Video viewing. With a single power in and video out type C support. Thanks
I just bought a Q recently. It's very small and quiet.
Would it be better to get an Android instead for the simulation, which will be a better choice? Im new to this.
Hi!
I'm wondering can I play GFN(Gforce now) at 2k/144hz?
My pc recently was giving me some issiuses so im considering this one a a replacement.
Hi may I know what is the difference of a PS Plus subscription in console and the one in the video PS Plus pc sub, is that the same subscription for both console or pc , sorry for my ignorance... peace thanks
Wonder how the system would work for transcoding with plex as a server.
I'm curious as to how well this works with Nreal AR glasses.
1440p 144hz cloud gaming? Do you thing youd run into any issues?
Hopefully one day any of these systems will compare in form factor to what an intel compute stick used to be
Check out the MeLe PCG02 Stick PC. It might be what you'd like. Less capable CPU than the Queiter3C, but perhaps good enough for your needs.
Cool, Can you play Killer instinct 1 on Mame ?
What battery pack were you using?
Speaker jack on back? Yes!!!
Dual channel ram? Nooooooooo!
I was this close 😂
Why don't they make such PC with Intel Core i3 class processor at least? What should I do if I need very compact, but high performance PC?
would this be able to handle bluray playback from a disc? (usb connected obviously)
Is there any Fanless mini PC with N5105 chip (or newer) that runs dual channel RAM?
Would this be good for a PLEX server?
how does it handle light multitasking... 8 tabs in edge, excel, word and outlook, spotify
can it do normal office work or is a grandpa 1 thing at a time kind of pc.
What monitor do you have?
Perfect for Astrophotography 👍
do like how small the system is, surpised by no emulation test, I guess it would be fine up to PS2/PS3 era.
Probably won't do ps3 at all and struggle with ps2. I definitely want to see emulation tested on it.
This model has the same processor as the Quieter 3Q. Check that video for analogous performance results.
@@ELLOHELLWAT cheers!
With 4 cores? I don’t think ps3 would work well at all
In your Morefine video, you didn't use the power from the monitor to power the minipc, or was it that the Morefine is not capable of supporting this feature like the 3Q?
M6?
I know you say you'd recommend just buying a laptop of you were to use a setup with a power source but honestly I live out of my backpack and already carry a battery on me and there's screens I can plug into most places I go so having a mini pc to me is better that carrying an expensive and delicate laptop or tablet. I'm still trying to find the right device that is as small as possible but that can still locally run some older AAA games and at least run photo and video apps well but also ideally can handle 3d rendering and Ai generation . If anyone has any recommendations along. Those lines please let me know
What is the AI generation feature for?
Hi. I suscribe and love all your videos. I’ve been looking out for a mini pc for only a plex, Emby, and Jellyfin server. I stream 4K HDR movies with Atmos and such so I just wanted to make sure that this was capable. If I can stream a 4K hdr file goth no issues I’ll get it right now lol. Would really appreciate your input on it. Thanks in advance.
fanless Newsmay AC8 (may be branded as SZBOX and other) has 6005 what should fit better to games. AC8 for better temps needs to remove meshes, to resetup cooler on better paste, to install drivers from PC producer's site
can you test the Minis Forum JB95?
So can this be used in place of a Nvidia shield with os navigation done through controller? That would be miles ahead of the aging shield device.
Yes, of course. Why not? :)
hmm. even under 300. so its not that bad of a price. i want to get something with the n5105 cpu. not sure if im ready to pull a trigger yet tho
I paid $220 for my Q. I thought it was a pretty good deal.
man. this thing would be amazing with an amd apu. Im not talking about the new ones because they are power hungry. i want to make a handheld pc with a BB Q20 keyboard.
Is there a new BIOS update?
How do I update the BIOS for this device??
Linux please. Debian if possible. Need to know if these types of systems have any extra steps to get that integrated video playing 4k like in Windows. Would be very helpful.
Yo can you make the budget computer stuff i like theme more
ETA Prime...you should check out people using the iPhone se 2020 4k on luma fusion.... for its price to preformance its kicking every low end chipset a** Everyday Dad does a video on it... maybe you should start checking out the A13 chips.
Took a look at this form factor size earlier this year. Really like it. But heard that there are potential issue running ProxMox on N5105. Thank you Prime.
Just install Linux and docker
@@jj-icejoe6642 Thank you, neighbor and friend.
5:47 It's not playing in HDR !! the Color code is bt709. There must be "bt2020"
any word on the raspberry pad 5 cyberdeck?
Can it handle dota 2 super low settings.?
This is actually not the current version The current version uses Windows 11 pro it will also take a four terabyte M2 stick so you're getting a lot more with the new one then you have with the one that's being listed here and I believe the new one which I just got supports 3 HDMIs of 4K
can i use it as a home server?
Wish list: Dual channel memory, would prefer to see 2x hdmi instead of the display port, and low power AMD APU.
dual channel, new n6005, more thicc heatsink
Would this PC be able to run a Monitor at 1440p 144hz?
I second this question?
Can you show emulation on hid
What kinda games can this run on, steam?
What about emulation? What can it go up to.
Yes this I would like to know!
@@deedsy404 I would also like to know about gamepass and stadia as if its good can make a portable emulator/stream machine to link up to tvs
Are these windows keys safe????
Can this be a good Plex media server?
