I visited Chateau de Sarzay in June, of 2022 while staying at Chateau de la Lande. The medieval fortress was spectacular! Mr. Hurbain was a one of a kind gentleman and incredibly knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend a visit if you ever find yourself in this region of France.

Oh I just commented before seeing your comment how this chateau would be the perfect place for Stephanie and Philip to feature on their channel as its so close by, and such an inspiration.

@@ludovica8221 Hello, it was Natti who said we should visit. At the time there was a medieval market on the grounds too and of course we had to buy things. 😃

this is superb ! the fortress looks like it must have been 500 or more years ago, and the furniture is old as well, how much nicer than the richly decorated castles. I by far prefer this authentic restauration ! Poor man, no help from the governement, must be reserved for the rich and famous as always!

The family that lived there for 4 centuries: all the ups and downs, the romances, the un-requitted loves, the family drama, the beautiful days, the hopes and dreams. All gone and forgotten.

Thank you for caring and doing the meticulous work to preserve this Chateau. We are fast losing so many of our wonderful elder folks who know and have loved so many of the most beautiful structures all around the world. The grand homes, the castles and the people who lived these more gallant and noble times, are steadily passing away with their secrets and knowledge. Without men like you to care so deeply it would be lost forever. The young generations coming up would never be able to walk in them, feel and see the beauty. ❤ Thank you for caring and doing!

Thank you so much for this wonderful look into Mr. Hurbain's labors over the past 40 yrs. I wish others could see the caring and love that was shown, as I have, toward this Castle Tower cluster. I will say that the one part of this tour that really floored me was the timber joinery work that was shown, especially in the top of the towers on the roofs. Puts a big lump in my throat to think that not many people think of the old buildings and the worth they still can have. Again thank you very much. -----Mike W
