That was one of the coolest videos I ever watched! It was so fun watching you guys unbox that Rembrandt. (I'm calling art art). I know nothing about tube amps and while I have heard some and really appreciated the wonderful sound, I am not ready to have one in my place and don't know if I ever will be. It is a whole different animal and I'm kind of scared of tube amps in regards to care and feeding if you will. Still, I am curious to learn more about this amp for giggles. (I don't have 5 houses I can mortgage to purchase it).
You guys, Kat and Kevin and everyone there at Upscale seem so cool. I had a couple of chances to meet Kevin at shows, but did not have the nerve to come up and say hello and he seemed pretty busy when I saw him, so I did not want to be in the way or anything. (I was told that I was too shy a journalist and Fremer tried to get me and Jana to meet each other, as he put it: "we both have the same problem").
I am trying to save up for a couple of new phono carts and am planning on making my first purchase from Upscale on that. I also hope I get to talk with analog queen Kat when I am ready to purchase.

I just recently did a very expensive (and much needed) upgrade to my system. And I geeked out just like the two of you every day a new box arrived! I loved to see people excited about their new gear! My hats off to the design team at Western Electric because that amp is beautiful! Great job on this video!!

Yeah one of the best systems i have ever heard was a late 1920s Western Electric movie theater stereo blew me away ! Dynamics from those big horns dam near scared me very Realistic !

Where is the amp made? With the nickel finish ($1000 upcharge) it is $16,000. Seems fair considering everything. Not sure they can make this in the USA and sell it for that price?
Just found out it is indeed made in the USA. For that fit and finish, packaging and sound quality this is a bargain. At the very least a good value. Great job.

Wonder if those tubes were made in China for WE... Its all about money, greed! If that's really made in USA Chassis and tubes, etc, it would be about 20k for that amp
Too bad it's so ugly. Everything about the visual design is off. Looks like it was designed by the early 00's Pontiac design team. The embossed "91E" is too big and doesn't match the black Western Electric badging. The screen is ugly. I've seen other pics and the screen's VU meters don't look good. The way the front end is divided into three chunks is ugly. The whole thing looks like someone with really bad taste/zero design sense put a lot of thought into it. I'm sure it sounds great but it's just not that good looking. I wish it looked more like the line magnetic amps or maybe Pass Labs for something more modern. This just looks cheap.
