Yonni, back in the day in the Caribbean, we did not say I love you. My dad died in 2019, at the age of 65, and never told any of his 7 children. I love you, but my father showed us love in many ways. I never doubted that my father loved me.
To be fair… Back in the day in the Caribbean I always heard it from family members who counted. 🤷🏽♂️
I am from Caribbean parents and they never told me the words either. Between siblings and cousins however we have told each other I love you plenty of times and knew our parents loved us even though they didn't articulated.

I honestly felt like her comments about him “talking at her” was racially coded. She was portraying him as aggressive and he was not. He was giving her what she wanted. He was acknowledging her needs. She just wants him to be upset with her because she doesn't like him. That's why she was like “are you in fantasy land?”No, he is just trying to get to know you and enjoy his honeymoon. Misery loves company
it was just an unnecessary false statement that she used to continue to show her disgust for who she was paired with..not who she wanted.. a shift worker , smoker who lives in the basement ..and a messy basement with a bed that dn even have a headboard or living room.. with no clearcut plans of exiting... NOITHING he says or does can fix this.. unless he shows up with a mortgage , haircut, and 2 MBA .. NO successful, independent woman wants that...
Also grew up in a household FULL OF LOVE but we didnt really say ‘I love you’.

How are you at an all inclusive resort and not trying to have fun. If you have an issue with where he lives so be it, but may save that conversation for when you get back home. Keep the conversations light on the honeymoon is always what I've thought.
I guess because, I’m a metaphysical thinker, I understand Karla’s belief that money is energy. What she didn’t express, is money is a force that has an impact on experiences, creates chances, and opens up new paths. She obviously, believes in the ease of money flowing to her. Therefore, she doesn’t worry about it, like many people who have a negative or fearful relationship with money. That being said, I still think she’s a faking the spiritualist/naturalist funk. 😂

My family wasn’t emotional either. My mother didn’t say I love you until I was in my thirties,when She almost died and then she started saying it. My father didn’t say it until I was in my forties, right before he died . Because of that, I tell my daughter that I love her every time we speak.

Happy Birthday!!! Karla is fake times 10. She wants a man to support her while she figures out life. And based on the latest episode I question if she deals with depression which is why she is so rooted in her ‘energy’ foo foo. Juan is going to cut bait and move on which is smart. It is surprising that he would get married to a stranger knowing she could possibly get half his business. It doesn’t add up, even the free advertising. Michelle just keeps digging the hole, David is a patient man. I will say the previews indicate that her instincts were likely right.

Why are you comparing Chicago to the islands? Just because it’s ok there doesn’t mean it makes sense to a woman in Chicago.
It seems that is an automatic negative and character flaw if someone chooses the path to live with parents for a bit to get ahead. If the person is a bum then of course it’s a negative. But for many it’s necessary to get ahead.

Michelle was disappointed at first site. Her expectation was a polish black man, not dark but someone she may have a crush on at work. Being white she doesn’t know how to describe the man. David doesn’t come across as mature & too played back.
