In the lore of ZeXal, they say a Number manifests and takes form according to the wishes of the wielder. I felt some of that sensation when I first saw Number 79: Nova Kaiser. The tenacity displayed where you can't truly take him down if fought head-on. It's something I later saw in Vendread where Slayer doesn't stay down, especially if the deck is built that way.
They did a great job of capturing that with the card effects. The fighters just can’t stay away from the ring lol I’m not super familiar with vendread. The art is great but I’ve never learned how to play them.
1:34 In the anime the one who played boxer was a gladiator in his previous life before being reincarnated to be used a as a brainwashed bodyguard. And as someone said already in the comment, the number monsters are blank card that take form of their user's deepest desire the first time they come in contact with them. While nova in a game original card (along with other numbers that never made it to the anime/manga) its easy to see what they were going for once you know the character that used it. If anything, any time you look at a number xyz, you better look at who used it in the anime/manga. Some number even have wordplay in the pronunciation of their japanesse version such as number 53 heart-earth 5 in japanesse is "go" and 3 is "mi" when you put them together it sounds like "gomi" which means "trash/garbage". I m not gonna go full spoiler but the user, DR faker, own a garbage factory and was dumping his garbage in another world as a way to attack them.
I knew of Alito but never saw the episodes he was in so I was only vaguely aware of his character. The cestus make a lot more sense now lol. I’ve found some stuff about other number monsters having word play in their name but if it’s not listed somewhere I don’t know how to find that info because I don’t speak Japanese at all. I didn’t know that about 53 either. It’s good to know that I should be searching for that stuff from the outset though. It’s also good to see you back in the comments, I was wondering where you went
he kind of sounds like Alito, who is the guy who used the Battlin' Boxers in the anime, he was a gladiator back in ancient Rome, so that's why his deck is the way it is. just like with every ygo character It's based in his soul
@libertaliagamesupply762 well. The decks of the anime characters represent them as a person. So you didn't really miss. If this was a video about the character then you would have but since it's a video on the archetype you're only really allowed to work with what the archetype gave you.
Oh yeah, i missed this video. Also come on, soulburning may not be the best set ever but it made salamangreat a solid rogue deck and raging phoenix is very much a meta relevant card up to this day.
That’s fair, it made a fan favorite deck playable, it just feels like it’s missing a lot of stuff to make it fun to open. I think if the ghost rare was something else it would have been worth opening a few boxes
I think they’re squeezing out the last of the money with Snake Eyes with bonanza. Especially with Ryzeal coming in December. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a decent hit on the next list
One of the things that I really like about yugioh is the lore of the cards. Thank you for sharing a small tribute to the champion.
The lore is my favorite part, thank you for checking it out!

@@libertaliagamesupply762 you should do a lore vid on that, it's like Resident evil
I just got some duels today. 2 losses and 1 draw but we get back up and try again because that’s how winning is done.

This was a really awesome video
Thanks for watching, I had fun making it! Jack Dempsey is an interesting guy
@libertaliagamesupply762 your content is peak and I can't find the right words to say it better
