Harvesting a years worth of celery and preparing the beds for summer planting! San Diego zone 10!

  • Come along with us as we prepare the garden for summer planting with compost and harvest celery with us! I say this is a years worth because I like to chop up the celery and freeze it to put into soups, stews and casseroles! Let’s see if we can make it all last a year!

    I love your idea of leaving the leftover celery to decompose! Well done - keep it simple.
    How are you using/preserving all the celery stalks?

      Thank you!! I chopped up the stalks and spread them out on a baking sheet and flash freeze it! And then I put it all in a plastic bag and leave it in the freezer for future recipes! Just grab a handful of celery and throw it in a soup or stew or Braise! It works beautifully

      @@Fujisfarmstead awesome! My celery is still quite small, as I'm in the midwest, zone 5b. But hopefully I can do something similar later this season!
