Join us today as Fuji and I plant our pumpkin patch in an unexpected spot with challenging soil conditions. Last year, I took a gamble, planting pumpkins in this rocky, weed-infested area without amending the soil. Surprisingly, after some struggles with pests, the pumpkins flourished, covering the area by July. This year, armed with slug deterrents and a desire for an earlier harvest, we're repeating the experiment. With Fuji's help, we're tackling the challenge of growing pumpkins in less-than-ideal conditions once again.

If the slug bait is iron phosphate based it won't harm anything beneficial
