This is what I dislike about the Josephology that's arisen in the passed five centuries. It is purely speculative, based very little on typology of the Scriptures or the Traditions of the Fathers. "Oh, wouldn't it be cool if Joseph was the same age as Mary!" "Oh, wouldn't it be cool if he was assumed into heaven." "Oh wouldn't it be cool if he was the Greatest Saint after Mary." "Oh wouldn't it be cool if he was born without Original Sin like Saint John the Baptist." All of this comes from strictly speculation, founded in nothing else. Like I don't agree with Saint Jerome that he was a perpetual Virgin, but even that view is based on a broader typologically and Theological understand that Saint Jerome had, rather than "muh Joseph ideal man."
I watched a talk done which called the Bosom of Abraham, 'The Bosom of Saint Joseph' after he died because the Priest in question thought the title was based on the righteousness of the Saint, and believe that Saint Jospeh was more righteous than Abraham. While it's certainly not heretical to hold these views, as even the Vatican has allowed some of them, but there's a difference between liberty of belief and Doctrine and Dogma. It's like saying that Mary had labour pains. It's allowed, but is just unfounded in any sort of manner which we would understand Mary within the Scriptures, in relation to typology, the Fathers or just what the Scriptures describe. It also has serious implications against ones Doctrines and potentially even Dogmas.
Like what about the Theology and devotion to Saint John the Baptist? What about a devotion to King David through his Psalter and how the Psalms and it's understanding in relation to David plays a huge role in typology and in our Christology? I think we focus a little too much on the Holy Nuclear Family, and not so much on the fuller Holy Family.

Are you aware that the Church teaches that Joseph is the holiest Saint after Mary, and that it is not founded on wild speculation but rather papal magisterium?

      Two things.
Number 1: By the same reasoning, that verse means Saint John the Baptist is holier than the Mother of God, unless you take the verse to more narrowly mean only the male sex.
Secondly, if you do thus take it, I am going to extend the logic to the context of the verse and understand it - as the Church does - as referring to the category or class of people known as prophets. Saint John the Baptist is the greatest of all prophets, even greater than Moses and this is what Jesus taught in the passage. He did not teach that Saint John the Baptist is holier than Our Lady, or his foster-father Saint Joseph.
Does that make sense enough of the passage?

Whats wrong with speculating about further details relating to the faith? I mean just because it might be more fruitful to contemplate the mysteries of the Rosaries doesnt necessarily mean we cant also contemplate things that arent established. I mean God gave us brains and he gave us the ability to reason. One certainly can go too far and begin to speculate about things that are already dogma, it seems unwise to speculate about those things, even outright wrong, but I think its a lot of fun and engaging to think about things in our faith that arent dogma or infallibly taught. Presumably most people dont spend 100% of their time contemplating the essential truths of the faith, so why not say "hey, stop playing videogames/watching movies/reading novels, dont you know there are more fruitful things?"
also, if we dont speculate and think about and discuss things of the faith that arent yet infallably or fallibly taught, how would we have gotten the current teachings revealed? What if people in the early Church had said "whoah we dont need to speculate about the Immaculate Conception, we dont need to speculate about The Assumption"
how is that different? (honest question)
Oh and I should add that I do agree that focusing on non-essential things at the detriment of what has been revealed seems problematic, so Im with you there

He'd probably categorize the rosary as an important thing. Speculation, like wouldn't it be cool if Mary knew the day and hour, is not fruitful compared to actual devotions like the magnificat, the rosary, he actually has the little office of our Lady in the video title card.
