Just a suggestion, mate….when you show the writings on the tombstones, please get a tad closer and stay a few more seconds, please? So interesting to read them!
@@deadgoodwalks Yes, what I can see you were moving yours len just to fast that we couldn't see(or read)what are the writings on the tombstones tell especially it's now looked blacken and fade! P/s : I watched many of your videos, I'm so astonished of why there are so many abandoned graveyards in your country? From what I can see no body care, not been maintened, over grown grass and the worse is that some of the graves were damaged! In my home town we always take care our old graveyards and do the maintences!
Really not try to be rude, just a hint, use the pause button. Closer would be good and steady for a second..but as for time to read, hit pause, then you can zoom pause image as well.
What a beautiful Churchyard. It’s nice when there’s information on the headstones saying what they did in life. In a lot of smaller villages and ports most people would have known each other too.. I think it’s more interesting sometimes than all the big flash monuments and crypts. It paints a picture of what life was in their times ..Thank you for the walk ..Love n Light 🥰
Yes, I agree with Gail Crestin, just give a a moment longer to read for ourselves, as the writing on the stones is so fascinating….Thankyou. Enjoyed this walk…well kept neat little church yard! 🙏
Found you by accident you came up on the recommended list and so started watching and really really enjoyed this, I have subbed. I loved how you did this and how you told the story. Also, just love churches, being in nature, hearing nature and history! As well as Wales! I have family from Wales.
A beautiful, peaceful and well manicured cemetery. I loved it when the church bell started ringing, it added so much to the effect of this video. Another wonderful video! I know it's been a month and I'm sure you're feeling better now!
Very cool my sausage. Live the occupations and the mort safe grave, very interesting. Lots of mariner’s. Sad with the 8 children too. Thanks Dan loved it
My dad was from here... he was born in a little cottage up in the hills somewhere near. He had a photo of the dilapidated cottage painted... thanks for this 1❤
So fascinating to see these old graves and get a glimpse into a life long long ago. Have you ever thought of doing walk abouts through the places you visit? not sure if there is a big audience but I would love to see the little towns and places. thanks for the upload! 💙💪
I thought about it but like you say would everyone be interested? I've started adding little clips of the places I go to (when I've remembered to do it) like in the beginning of this one. I might start adding a bit more, maybe at the end of the videos and see how it goes
That's about the best definition for Davy Jones's Locker that I've ever heard. These days RN could mean Royal Navy, or Registered Nurse, but I didn't know about the 'Royal Nurse' bit - perhaps it was once an honorific for someone who served royalty? That was a great tour, appreciated; and I'll bet that expats overseas would be delighted too.
3:55- It was actually quite common to name a child after an older one that had previously passed. The best historical example I can come up with off the top of my head is Alexander Hamilton's oldest son was named Phillip. After he died, their youngest son, born just a few months later, was named Phillip as well. It was very common.
Does anyone know what these stones are made of?? They have held up over time so well compared to other flattop stones. Just a Beautiful Cemetery!! Thanks Dan, another Great episode!!! 🪬🧿♥️🪦♥️🧿🪬
Born & brought up in the town. Lots of happy memories. Mum, dad & brother had their funeral service in the church. Father & brother were sidesmen. Sadly, one item missed was the sundial nearby the childrens grave. As kids, we’d often check it out even when it was cloudy! Thank you for the memories - fascinating!!😉🏴
@@deadgoodwalks Thank you for that. The church began life as a Norman monastery, but there is so much to offer in the town - the castle & the walls. The Elizabethan mansion Plas Mawr, also the oldest house in Conwy. The smallest house located on the quay - & so much more!! Apologies for the boast, but I’ve always loved the place, even though I now live in Chester.
There used to be a big graveyard by the sea in Aberystwyth but it has been removed now although I think some headstones remain around the edge of what it has become. I remember going there in my 20's and you would often see children from the same family being given the same names, so if one died and they had another baby they would give that child the name of the one who died. I have not seen it anywhere else, but it is quite fascinating. It's a shame that they changed the graveyard there as it was full of old and beautiful headstones.
I like watching your videos of grave yards some are so old how sad don't see flowers on them do you do videos of pet cemetery's by the way ave just started to watch your videos I need to watch the others ones what av missed out stay safe 👍
Thank you very much for showing 18th century old tombs. All the dead bodies might have kept in St Mary's Church, before taking to burial. There is no new graves.
Hah! Rookie ... you just don't know how to do flu properly~! Stay alive long enough and you'll learn. (The secret is in not being shy; if ya wanna honk and bark, you go right ahead and honk and bark ... just do it with panache.) (Style, ya gotta have style!)

Thanks Laarnie, the normal voice is back now.
Excellent video again. somehow I would love to have been around in those days, when life would have been much simpler than now.
You and me both Ian. Life was probably a bit harder back then but definitely a lot more simpler

Church bells were amazing!
I bet some genealogist somewhere is looking for that Buckingham man!! They would never think to find him there
Imagine that he's the only one they can't locate lol
Did you notice their are seven little crosses on the top of the We are seven grave.👍
Disgusting that they dump compost on top of someones grave surely there is a space to make a compost corner
Some people would name a child after a deceased sibling who died before they came along out of respect it was quite common donkeys ages ago
Beautiful land of our beautiful brave ancestors
Please, give dates.
I like it when you read out what’s on the stones but can you give Dates or age 🥰
So disrespectful to dump clippings on graves
Hello William s family from your American cousins , we made it across the Pond to settle the Southten part of America!

Conway Castle been great walk
In our American family O'Brien married a Mc Cafferys, the Mc Caffery mother was a Williams .
What's the oldest grave u have found, mine is, it said on the tombstone died 1749 so possibly lived during the 1600s
Viking hogbacks Alan, but as far as an actual dated one 1616!
