I cannot imagine the excitement Justin felt knowing that some random guy was willing to help him. He looks like he's never seen love or kindness in his life.
It was heart breaking to watch and I agree 100 percent, poor justin this kid needs love,kindness and stability and not to be futhered raped by society and bullied to this extreme.
It sucks but at the same time Justin did put himself in that position; If you have no way to pay back a debt, why ask for a loan in the first place? Of course being in there, one is going to strive to get a taste of better food from commissary so I get why he asked for loans, but $7 in there sadly is a lot of money so I somewhat understand Jojo but he could've gone about it a bit differently :/

Ryan was a genius. He was given warnings... ignored the warnings... and ended up winning. The idea to swap commissaries without allowing debt or "I'll pay you back later" was brilliant. I think what the Sheriff really hated in Ryan was that Ryan did his own thing, and ended up being right about it. Honestly, he figured out how the pod works better than any other participant in any of the seasons.

Exactly. For all JoJo and the others knew or needed to know, Ryan could have been "in debt" himself to Justin for breakfast or lunch trays, or even settling a matter from the free world. It would have been very easy for Ryan to play it off like that. Nobody needed to know that he was doing it simply to help the guy out.
Ryan is the most ideal man I’ve ever seen. Like this is the boy my 7th grade self made up for my day dream weddings. I don’t even like this show I literally only watch it for him.
At first i thought Ryan was a "Know it all" a would eventually get into trouble. But he grew on me and stayed fine line in there and handle it great despite the sheriffs telling him not to do what he did like trading. He played it well and used his head.
For all the people who say Justin knew that he would not be able to pay back the debt, you have probably never lived in pure survival mode. If you have been in survival mode most of your life, you barely believe there's a tomorrow, let alone that you will exist in it. You have to be fed now, you have to sleep now, you have to survive now. What's next is a complete unlikely mystery. Some call it lizard brain, others call it living in the moment. I call it conditioning. Survive now, because now is all you're guaranteed.

Ryan is very socially aware and empathetic most people wouldn't even has noticed what's going on with Justin and even if they did they wouldn't give a toss.

Ryan’s a good guy but he never really knew the basic reasons why inmates did certain things like in this situation they didn’t want to experience power they just did that for respect bc if you let ppl walk all over you in jail even one slip up could ruin your reputation in there he claims they wanted to experience power but as soon as he got his stuff he stopped bothering him like I said before it was about respect if it was really about power he would’ve taken the stuff and continued to bully him
I've been to prison and got put in a similar situation where I wanted to help the poor guy. But instead of just giving it to him, I pulled aside the "Bullies" and told them the man who owes them is working for me now to pay off his debt. I paid off his debt and he cleaned up my cell, washed my clothes etc. I respect that he handled the situation well though
That's what I thought he was gunna do. I would have had him visibly pay his debt to me in a softer way like that too so he can get a bit of respect back.
