Just found your channel tonight.
The best channel I have ever come across. Simple instructions without nonsense or ads, thank you much!
I have one of these as well for my son & I. Now i know changing the filter, and i vacuum the mesh part so i can also clean out the interior too. But what I am trying to find a good way to really clean is the front of the purifier when the vacumn cant seem to get collected dust etc out. Tried a vinegar/water solution & cloth, and that did some but didn't get it. I am wondering if anyone has ever actually taken it apart, to really clean out the inside too?
Unplug before maintenance please!
How do you personally clean the microfiber cloth and lint roller? I typically throw them out.. throwing them in the washer just makes my wash dirty. Have any good tips?
You can also just rinse off the carbon filter it comes off the main filter and can be rinsed with water then let air dry
THUMBS UP!
Thanks.
What’s the red blinking light mean?
@3:47 I’d encourage folks to clean their filters outside the home. Otherwise you are essentially introducing particles into your own home. I know not everyone has access to a air compressor but thats what I use to clean my filters in my 1/2 dozen or more filters running in my home. If you opt to use a vacuum be sure to bring it outside the home. Vacuum’s are normally not running a hepa filter and you again reintroduce up all the bad stuff into the air once the vacuum churns it up and spits it out. Remember vacuums are bad for churning up stuff in the air. Otherwise good video. I run one of these units in my home and my moms apartment. Its amazing how much stuff the filters capture in a short period of weeks.
Thanks for the heads up brutha
Iykyk hahaha
Good video 👍 I vacuum out mine and If it is really dirty, I wash the filter with soapy water and rinse real well. I let it dry. You just reminded me I have to clean mine. God bless 🙏♥️😃
Thanks for sharing!!
I clean my mine the same way you do. I just wash the black filter in hot soapy water and air dry. I use a vacuum cleaner to clean the front and insides.
You always look so put together and pretty 🤩 thanks for your reviews and advice. I bought my Scorpion radio because of your info, and am very pleased with it 👍
Hope you enjoy it!
You are always spot on AlaskaGranny
I know this was 2 years ago but im thinkin about buying new filters for our germ guardian. Can you just vacuum the dirts instead (very carefully) when cleaning it?
After a while the filter just needs to be replaced. I just bought new filters on amazon. amzn.to/42UNIO8
Crazy, the single pack is a much better price than a multipack.
Great video. I purchased one when having to return to the classroom as a teacher during the pandemic. You can tell the difference in the air.
Especially this time of year when the house is closed up these are a great idea
I think so.
Thank you, I have 2 of this exact air purifier. This method looks much easier than breaking out the vaccuum. Thank you for the tip.
I agree. I have never had much luck with the vacuum.
@@AlaskaGranny We've also used an air compressor to blow it clean, but this is much easier. Thank you.
I never thought about using a lint brush on my filters. Great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice thing to have
Yes, it works great.
Thank you for your videos. My sister ordered a Germ Guardian and so did I. The company should give you a free one.
These are great air filters. I would love a free one, but am not counting on it.
How do you reset the red blinking light?
Replace the filter and hold the button down for 3 seconds.
Wait, can't we just use the vacuum hose on it?
You can but it just pushes the dirt in the holes of the filter and it doesn't fully clean it. Her way isn't bad though I'd just replace it once a month. That's what I do
Great information... Thank you! I could really use and air purifier... Especially when my husband's home, lol! 😉👍
Glad it was helpful! My daughter first started using these in her home, and now I have them, too. The germ guardian works great.
My husband and I are asthmatics. A year ago, unpurchased two Ren Pho air purifiers on Amazon about $150 each. They have four filters, HEPA filter and you replace them about every three months. Once a month you take out the washable one. Multiple speeds, very quiet, easy to use. I am shocked at what it takes out if the houses air environment!!! It was recommended by the two physical therapist online, I won't mention their names☺️ Truly has made a difference in our lives. I also do an air exchange in my house once a month by opening a few windows for about fifteen minutes.
My family likes this air filter, and yes, it is important to open the windows occasionally, even in winter.
Vacuum cleaner with the thinner attachment works well on the black filter as well.
Thanks for sharing what works for you.
We just bought this after watching your video. We can tell a difference after a couple hours. Clean air is great. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Nice. Maybe do videos on your regenerative power? Solar or generator or both?
Thanks for the idea!
That’s one question I have for you they say air quality in Alaska is horrible which I was always so shocked about but I guess it has to do with all the wood-burning stoves.
Is it different where you are can you explain about air quality in Alaska. Thank you
Thank you for another great video! IQ Air has an advertisement for their air purifier right before your video starts! Best Wishes ....
Interesting. I like this germ guardian.
thank u, my neighbour smkes all the time, I have no ventilation, so I cant cook or shower or use dry machine, well I stil use it, but makes so stuffy, also if I clean the drain, the chemicl, I cant get rid of fumes, takes so long to get rid of the fume, takes a while, was thinking of buying air purifier, they are like 300, maybe Il try ur one, but thats in america im in Australia,
but I think I have to hury up, since, it musnt be good not getting any air, and when I do open window, just get smke in my face, and a big fan doesnt stop the smke
anyways thanks
Wow, this filter costs around $85 dollars in the US.
@@AlaskaGranny Thanks, I got a family one 150 dolrs, anko model kj300gr g1e, its ok but now I think it needs a clean, I gues im overly woried if I clean it wrong, manual says a vacum on low setings with brush, but then I gtg buy vacume, yt says cloth with luke warm water, n also u say lint brush, I hope i dnt mss it up, I also heard not to wash the hepa filter
@@namename3139 I suppose the don't get it wet part is the folder paper like filter. I have washed the black filter before, and let it dry completely before putting it back on the machine. I like using the lint brush because I don't worry how long it will take to wash and dry, I can use it again right away.
You are only cleaning the pre-filter. The filter is the white part with paper folded like a ribbon. These pre-filters are much cheaper to replace from Amazon and it will help keep your air much cleaner.
I was gonna spend the money to have our home positive pressurized but wifey won’t let me. Gonna do a room in the basement this year. Hopefully nothing bad will happen until it’s done. 🇺🇸
She's a grandmother? All that clean air made her look younger.
We need a real in depth how to clean the front mesh video. Mine has been running for quite some time and there is definitely a built up of some type of dirt layer on the inside of the outer plastic mesh and its so hard to clean! I had to take a toothpick and clean out each hole!! There has to be a better way....I cant imagine using compressed air to blow it all back into the fans is not a great idea....I have no idea how to get the gunk out theres no way to remove or rly clean that front mesh....it has definitely decreased airflow and increased noise. Plz help. Vacuum isn't strong enough to pull it out from the front and I have a powerful Dyson and shop vac....only brushing and poking the holes seems to do anything but it just gets pushed back inside.....ugh
Can you do one on tieing shoe laces?
why can't you use just vacuum cleaner hose..?? it will suck that dust right off...OR am i doing it wrong? LOL
I suppose you can. Mine isn't effective, maybe yours is.
😊
Thanks for watching.
Can I have your mail? I want to talk to you about cooperation.
