one of my favorite moments in the whole series is the first meeting between Hannibal and Jack, where you notice Hannibal doesn't put down the scalpel until Jack mentions Alana Bloom.
Such a great underrated show. Sadly to cerebral for most audiences and poor scheduling resulted in its cancelation. Another great psychological show that y'all may enjoy that also met an eraly demise is Netflix's MINDHUNTER...
Janice Poon, the food stylist who created the dishes Hannibal serves, had some unique challenges doing this show. She wrote a blog about it, Feeding Hannibal --- she also wrote a book with the same title. Really interesting stuff. I love this show, and I'm so glad to see you doing this series.
Yes, the accent is thick, but it is much closer to the book than Hopkins's portrayal. They went back to the books a lot in this show, trying to disregard as much as possible of the previous films, keeping just enough to use as callbacks for the fans. That way everyone gets something they like, regardless if they're new viewers, fans of the films or fans of the books.
I hadn't picked up on the fact that Freddie always had gloves. I wonder if it's a metaphor that she wants to think of herself as removed and uninvolved despite her constant meddling.
I'm so happy you guys are reacting to my favorite series. I love how you pay attention to details and possibilities, and keep creating theories. Hannibal is a fascinating character done so well by Mads. I like Will too, but I understand how Miss doesn't like him as much. I think the best thing about the show is their relationship with each other. I can't wait to see the reaction of season two!
You mentioned red dragon a few times I’ve read that as a young man. It was a recommendation from one of my older sisters friends. That book scared the hell out of me. I yelled out loud a couple times reading it.
this is awesome, greatest tv show in years. I forgot Scott Thompson was in this from Kids in The Hall. The mushroom guy was crazy, but his thing was connection with mushroom spores to his victims. "the psyllium knows you're there walking through the forest, they reach out to you" The Molly Shannon episode was not on tv because of the tragic Boston marathon bombing.
Hannibal isn’t following his own MO for the killings he’s doing. He’s crafting crime scenes to help and manipulate Will out of an interest in the man and how he ticks, he may take an organ or two for his troubles while he’s at it but the ones he’s killing arnt for him or his urges it’s all about Will
44:00 Ok, here's what you're not understanding about Will Graham. 1. In the show, he is presented as having what is probably a "hyper-empathy" disorder. 2. Will is not disabled by this disorder. 3. Will is VERY self-aware. 4. People who struggle with mental issues who are very self-aware tend to find ways to cope, but these coping mechanisms can seem a little off to otheres. I have panic attacks whenever a woman flirts with me. (This developed after a girlfriend hired someone to kill me after I broke up with her.) I have no problem having conversations with women, as long as they are impersonal/clinical. I suspect Will's coping mechanisms are similar. For example, he chose teaching because it gave him a job where he was not interacting with others on a personal level, and didn't have to listen to other people except in situations he controlled (by asking a question, agreeing to have a meeting, etc.)
The "mushroom guy" is a medical professional, so he's definitely very interested in science and new discoveries. I think he's got obsessed with the (btw real) discovery that the way fungi connect is surprisingly similar to how human brain cells connect. Like, creepily similar. Look it up, it's super interesting. So, he might've decided to take the research into his own hands. Another, deeper underlying reason could be that he's lonely and doesn't know how to connect to others. He's weird and unsettling after all. I'm sure others got that vibe too, and avoided him. He did say he just wanted to be understood. And again, he's crazy. His brain works in a way that ordinary people might not understand. I wasn't that confused though, and could resonate with him in a way; should I be worried about my own sanity?:DD
You guys watched the movies "Red Dragon" and "Manhunter", right? The redheaded reporter in this show is a female version of the sleazy reporter in those movies who was handcuffed to the wheelchair and set on fire. Just FYI.
Mrs. Movies, you may be neurodivergent! I'm about to get tested for it, but I can keep eye contact. There are different effects for different people. I think Will is neurodivergent.
I don't think I have answers, but I can tell you that I think you just didn't like how the story jumped everywhere all the time. Its as if multiple stories are happening at once, and yet they have pauses, and sometimes they might jump around . It can feel awkward. At least, thats my thought on that.
If you find season 1 hannibal dry then you will LOVE season 3 hannibal, hes not quite anthony hopkins but due to a situational change hes extremely bitchy, impulsive and just outright hilarious at times. Its my favourite version of him
I mean, he IS autistic. Interesting how he was the character in all media I've ever seen who I could relate to the most. But I'm on the spectrum too, and likely in a similar way he is. Maybe he's not for you, but for us, neurodivergent weirdos, and I'm glad we finally got a character like him.
Wait is Mads Mikkelsens accent that thick? I mean I can't hear it but I am also not native English speaker, and I am used to speaking with Danes both in English and just speaking Swedish with them and he has one of the accents I can actually hear very well in both when he speaks Danish and English 😂 it's just interesting to hear that it can be so different for others.
When this first came out I was like no way that will be any good especially on CBS..I was wrong ..I found myself coming back to it watching it sometimes...I think y'all should watch the show the boys...and the show evil... invincible is a good one...I just think those shows would get really good reactions and you will enjoy the shows....hope y'all have a good one...
Im confused, this has to be a re-reaction cause its on the other channel...just looked, all seasons. Or they compiled it into 1 and uploaded on here, either way it should be tagged as such.
Your daughter just wants to react to horror movies and shows with you guys, that’s why she keeps sneaking up on you during the most horrible scenes. Take the hint already.
I really want them to watch Preacher. Their reactions would be gold. That show is beyond absurd. Mr movies would deff like it. Might be too much for Mrs movies though.
Yesssss, I agree. I'd also love to see them both experience the vastness of wild shit that show has to offer. - Yeah, but Mrs. Movies might enjoy Cassidy's presence though. 😂
@jakecrawford4836 such a wild show. I tried explaining a scene once, but I sounded insane. There's another show called Happy!, not as bloody, but still weird as fuck.
@elusiveDEVIANT Fr. Oh, I'm sure, I know whatchu mean, I've tried explaining just the fact of each character being who they are, and their journeys, and getting reactions of: "Oh???" Lmao. Oh yeah, eh, if I remember that one correctly, it was something different, lol. Not bad though.
Amazing show. Didnt like the guy who played will but the show makes up for it. Hannibal is the consumate machevallian bad guy. Amazing how he navigated and manipulated and dominated the relationships in the show. Mads is amazing.
Ok. You guys were fun but now your not doing movies anymore so im out. Unsubscribed. Some series are good as pong as you do a movie or two once a week but it seems like your done with movies now.
This isn't their film channel and you should have heard that in the beginning! Check yourself first before you have a tantrum and unnecessarily announce your departure. 😂🤡

One of the most romantic love stories.
How is it underrated? It won awards.. it’s not too anything, the time slot wasn’t great..
Will's character is beautiful because he's not normal. He's broken but still trying to help people.
Easily one of the best shows of its genre. On the level of so many great crime shows.
I think season 2 is even better. Mads is playing Hannibal to perfection.
Brilliant series! There won't be a show like this one again. Mads and Hugh were brilliant and of course Gillian Anderson
Anderson gived such amazing performance....i kinda like her more than hugh ahahahahahahah

5:04:46-5:05:13- I think that piece of music is from the opera scene from the 2000 _Hannibal_ film. Nice little easter egg for fans. 😁
I hadn't picked up on the fact that Freddie always had gloves. I wonder if it's a metaphor that she wants to think of herself as removed and uninvolved despite her constant meddling.

LMAO, she wants a heterosexual relationship for Will . . . And the whole series is a courtship between Hannibal and Will.
Always funny when reactors expect to see hetero relationships in this show. I get it though.
You mentioned red dragon a few times I’ve read that as a young man. It was a recommendation from one of my older sisters friends.

Thank you so much for watching one of my TOP 3 TV shows❣️👍👍👍
12:21 So real 😭 I can’t understand Mads without subtitles
"Tell me your design. Tell me who you are."
"LAURENCE FISHBUUURNE 🥰" (5:06) 🤣🤣🤣
Hannibil was a medical doctor first ( ambulance)
How is she constantly so confused and frustrated? The plot at the start is the easiest to follow...
I know! Haven’t encountered such a “complainy” show reactor in a while…😅
32:50 The "pork" may be "long pork". (A phrase that originated in the 19th century to refer to human flesh.)
33:44 Oh, yes. Hannibal is basically food porn.
I can't believe she doesn't like will 😭he's my favourite!!
44:00 Ok, here's what you're not understanding about Will Graham.

Quan Tico!!! I can’t unhear that!!!
Best show ever

Not a fan of how the lady thinks if she doesn't understand, then there must be something wrong with the show. Other than that, good reaction.
You guys watched the movies "Red Dragon" and "Manhunter", right? The redheaded reporter in this show is a female version of the sleazy reporter in those movies who was handcuffed to the wheelchair and set on fire. Just FYI.
39:14 This is so much creepier after seeing The Last of Us.
Mrs. Movies, you may be neurodivergent! I'm about to get tested for it, but I can keep eye contact. There are different effects for different people. I think Will is neurodivergent.

Something to chew on. 😂
Nice amuse bouche 👌🏼
PLEASE watch *Arlington Road* starring *Jeff Bridges* and *Tim Robbins*
That's a damn good movie!!! I haven't seen it in years, but I was just thinking about it a week ago.
Let's freaking go!
It’s amazing how wrong Mr. TV is most of the time but insists that he is correct to Mrs. TV, when she is almost always correct. 😂
my issue with will is the same that the mrs... i never bond with him. Abigail plot is kinda tiring complaring with season 2 and 3.

Eat just one person and you've offset your carbon emissions for life 🤔👍
Omg you have misophonia too? It's so frustrating! It's always little sounds that get me the most.
Chewing noises are the worst for me. They make me instantly angry to no end.
@catscanhavelittleasalami that and clicking are my big ones

You guys should react to the classic series I, Claudius
I love this show because it is so fucked up. What does that say about me, LOL
Im confused, this has to be a re-reaction cause its on the other channel...just looked, all seasons. Or they compiled it into 1 and uploaded on here, either way it should be tagged as such.
i love how you leave in your brats barging in

Trying to understand the mind of a sociopath/psychopath as a mentally healthy person is futile.
Editing style is super cringe

This is the tv channel their movie channel releases pretty often
This isn't their film channel and you should have heard that in the beginning! Check yourself first before you have a tantrum and unnecessarily announce your departure. 😂🤡
This ain't an airport, no need to announce your departure.
There's a hannibal cookbook 🫣
Also is this a reupload?
