WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers flat out on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat. Power slides, drifts, big jumps, watersplashes, handbrake turns, hairpin bends, lucky escapes, big moments or a massive crash. Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
Rally drivers take turns to complete closed road "special stages" as quickly as possible, setting off a few minutes apart. A co-driver reads pace notes to describe the hazards ahead. The same rally car is used to travel to each stage on public roads following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. WRC is administered by the FIA Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile FIA, motorsport's world governing body.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers : Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. Champions from Finland are Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm and Hannu Mikkola. French rally drivers have dominated 8 times with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times with Sébastien Loeb. Famous motorsport drivers have attempted WRC like Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1 and Ken Block from Rallycross.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers. The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Citroen and Volkswagen became champions in the 2000s along with M-Sport team using the Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018 and 2021. Hyundai won in 2019 and 2020 with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Really love the split screen showing the Drivers' Feet!
Very, very good driver. Thank you very much for this fantastic video - wow!
The Champs are on the road.!!!!👏👏👏
Come on Kalle. Cape Town South Africa
Kalle really brought that forest full of people.
Thx for video
Thx❤
OMG Duc Phuc , i like your cover version. Love it !
Amazing race.. save
Exciting times!
The drive was as smooth as silk.
*Superb*
Let's see what Huttunen can do in the puma 🤩
prestisiuse event , bravo Finland👍👍👍👍👍
I hope Breen keeps his head up, considering he's the best performing driver in a lackluster Ford this year! I expect big things from him when given a more competitive car.
"Best performing driver"? Is that alcohol talking, or are you just Irish? XD
@@MentalParadox actually I'm neither drunk or Irish, I'd be happy to hear a name of a better performing "Ford" driver this year though!
Car is totally fine, Loeb has literally gone for stage wins everytime he has been in the car.
@@69joppe69 you could put Loeb in a ugo and he'd be battling for stage wins, not really a fair comparison. Breen has double the points of any other ford driver so far this year and has shown the ability to be up at the top when the car is working well
i hope video has 60fps,looks more comfortable
Since Kalle can relax a bit, hope Craig gets some good points.
Full send!
Super 👍
ชอบดูแข่งรถมากครับ
Navigating real easy at that Speed !!!
I love this team Toyota all the way, GOD bless my boy Kalle GOD give him another win my prayers LORD..
I have a news flash for you. There is no God and even if there was, he would have nothing to do with Kalle's success, all the credit goes to his father Harri

GO KALLE GO! 🇫🇮🇸🇪
Parece un niño..el genio!
Damn its almost as exciting as Group B
Yes😁🙋
Nice setop kali Revan pora
So what are the actual times? On the website it says Rovanperä was the fastest with a time of 1:56.1. Here they say it's over 2 minutes. In the other video it says Tänak was the fastest? Not that it matters after just one stage but still if three different sources say different times, something's wrong.
This highlight was only the first "laps" they drove. All of them drove the stage 3-4 times and improved on these times.
Wow the interior shots really show how little these cars have to do with the models their outer panels are based on now. I guess the suspension setups, ICE engines and aero are still different between makes, and they’ve done it for safety reasons, but at least when it was FIA spec cages worked into modified shells there was still some kind of vague connection to the road cars.
One interesting thing is that the engines are rather limited, so some hotrod street machines with the same engine make more power. The road cars certainly don't have the chassis dynamics, of course.
@@UncleKennysPlace Yeah but in the case of the GR Yaris, the WRC car is still using the 4 cylinder engine from previous seasons, not the 3 cylinder from the road car.
I think they did the road car as a 3 cylinder to homologate it for the R5 rules or something.
Why are you surprised? They're using spaceframes this year, like in the Group B era. Bet you love the group B era.
@@MentalParadox Its more like group S than group B.
Group B cars were spaceframes but they did have their roadgoing counterparts, albeit produced in very scarce numbers.
Group S cars were intended to be a full blown racing prototypes with no need to have any kind of road going versions, much like we have right now.
so young...thanx GOD theres rally still alive in 2022, but unfortunately theres no subaru anymore..as a subaru driver i can claim it to be the best car in the world!!!
08:37 🇧🇷❤
how can he reply to questions while driving that road at 150 constant, like it is a walk in the park
Is Rovanpera even old enough to drive?
Do the cars have two EBrakes?? One for driver and co driver?
That's the gear shifter you're seeing. The 2022 cars went to a 5-speed stick shifted sequential from a 6-speed paddle shifted sequential.

Breen has settled in recent rallies into a demeanor of self defeat, and faking his emotional state. First year being a full time factory driver must be really hard with Loeb making them all look bad. They can't say anything about seat-time or the car.
Shakedown 1979
Considering that grip is much less on these roads, the actual speed is just a fraction of that indicated here. This is wheel spin
Yeah. They obviously drive walking speeds.
@@XtreeM_FaiL sort of
@@textonashford3309 you can literally see where there's flat power to the ground or wheelspin, out of corners and on straights, over 130 km/h is often flat power.

As an old spectator, AND participant in many Rallies in my Country("Acropolis" first, now at my 72 years of age, i wonder : What is the relation between a today's W.R.C car, and a car of my era...
I know that almost 85% of nowdays spectators and participants are verry younger, maby between 17 to 35 years of age, but...
Despite the speed, and the youth of pro-pilots, it is not so interesting for the spectator to go to the SS'S been able to see the competition between 2-3 brands.. TOYOTA, HIUNDAY, and FORD...
In my era, the particypating BRANDS were, FORD, BMW, CITROEN, LANCIA, BLMC, VOLVO, AUDI, VW, SAAB, MITSUBISHI, SUBARU, SKODA, LADA, DATSUN(NISSAN), with many non pro-drivers, and the big possibility for a crew with verry low budget to be verry high on the finishing board...
It happened to "US", 4 times...
2 times with TOYOTA(STARLET and COROLLA) and 8 good friends(mechanics), "service park" was something like a joke, and another 2 times with DATSUN(AND NISSAN) MICRA(1.000 and 1.300cc) overall winers of the categorry, and 8th, 11th, 19th, and 23rd overall at the finish line...
That was the era for 160 participant cars under the "ACROPOLIS STARTING LINE", under the rock of the MONUMENT, and after 4 days(and nights) "driving", it was a REAL WIN to see the "chekered flag" even if you was the LAST on the "finishing board", and your "car" was a real scrap, with no headlights, no windshield, or it had "rolled" 2-3 times IN a S.S...
I still remember an "ACROPOLIS" with 129 particypant cars, and only 8 at the "finish line" after 4 days !!!... THREE of them were not pro's !!!...
I wonder... Which era was better... "Then", when "Rally" was real "Rallying", or "now" when "Rallying" is a "rally-sprint"...
Cars were almost equall like the ones we were "driving to the office" and if the damages were serious(after the "finish line), we were using the ......Buss for some weeks(??)..🤣🤣...
My Respect to all of you...
I tryied to give just an opinion, and NOT a lesson...
I thank each one who spent tiime to read "an old dog's memories and OPINION"...
Thank you W.R.C... AND...
GO GO GO KALE !!!...
"PEDAL TO THE METAL"(Foul Throtle as we were saying)...
My RESPECT to each one and all of YOU...❤...
I,ll be waiting for you up on the Mountains(as a spectator) of next "ACROPOLIS RALLY"...
And always remember friends....
"Rallying is the same batle as it's our LIFE"...😋😋
A lot of manufacturers left WRC, I dont have the full story but someone does. The WRC is in a really odd spot these days. It still is exciting but it's a different side to the sport.
The cars especially this year are very different since they have the EV component and are essentially perfect purpose-made machines for the stages they run.
@@gregathol Dear friend(I mean this), thank you for your attention and polite disagreement(?)..
In my poor opinion, many manifacturers AND spectators got away from nowdays "Rallyes", just because they know BOTH parts, that there is no similarity between a W.R.C YARIS, and the same car wich , as prospective customer, he will put in his "short list" of cars he has to check for buing...
Years ago, S.S's in my Country Greece, were foul of spectators(some of them with over 30.000 people EACH, yes beleave me as a controller in many of them, at night) and most of them were waiting ro "see" wich car will get stages like "SS VAMVAKOU", "SS VASARAS", "SS LOUTRA SMOKOVOY"(now this SS is a.....lake), and others, in order to BUY this car wich was very close to the one it was in the "show room" with some modifications(not so many as "today") !!!!...
Does it happen now ?...
Definetly, NOT...
Anyway...
Our disqution was an honour to me, and verry delightfoull...
God bless you...😋
I hope to "see" you(our Lord knows for me), up on the mountainss(??🤣) of "ACROPOLIS" in September !!!...
Best Regards my Dear friend...😋😀...
(The British phrase is valid... "You can NOT teach an old dog, new tricks")🤣🤣..
Nice to meet you, I'm a Japanese person who is a little younger than you. I feel like I can understand your feelings a little too.
Due to geographical issues in Japan, rallies are not as popular as in Europe. However, there are many people who like cars, and I am one of them.
I also had a semi-rally spec car when I was younger. That's because I admired the sight of a car similar to mine running in the WRC.
However, recent WRC races tend to be dominated by cars with completely different specifications, rather than modified production cars.
Not only the car, but also the driver, navigator, and mechanic. Japanese people know this well. For example, the former president of Toyota even drives a rally car himself and truly loves motorsports. This is the same for other Japanese manufacturers. Unfortunately, this idea differs from country to country.
It seems like it's not a belief in cars, but a mindset that will stop at nothing to sell the car. For the WRC to be correct, it should be a race with production cars that have been moderately modified, just like in the past. WRC is certainly exciting right now, but it seems like it's out of reach for the average person, and it's dangerous.
you did dirty to jari by putting hin to wrc2 category

I don't understand what are Loubet and Sohlberg doing in WRC1 cars? They clearly are not at that level yet, not even close.
Clearly they're for Hyundai and Ford.
Go blackmail Ford and Hyundai to make them go to the class you want👌

Enak banget lontasan lebar dan kering jadi tida terlalu banyak nge drif
there was a time when cars broke during the stage , repairs with mechanics had to be done against the clock. a time when driving a lancia was different than driving an audi, you could feel the difference driving the two, and also when the cars looked different from brand to brand. even an amateur could tell, thats a peugeot, thats an audi, etc. those times are gone, all brands look the same, cars behave the same. you can pick any car over the other, not a big deal to the result. now driving skill is still a major factor deciding the winner, maybe even more than before since all cars look and behave the same. funny tho. that supercharged turbo engine sounds like an electric toaster when revving, just like before. i couldnt tell which car is rovanpera in until i saw the toyota logo on the front bar even the light projectors look identical from brand to brand ,LOL
Tf are you even talking about? They look very different and are developed very different. The times are very different depending on the car, why do you think Ford is always last in the championship no mattet the drivers they have? If you seriously think the cars look the same, get a time with the neuro doctors. Cars still break during the stage, mechanics still have to repair the cars against the clock. Oh and turbos sounds exactly the same no matter the car it's equipped with. You're simply hating on this sport and making useless and incorrect claims about the sport just to satisfy your wierd interest. Get a life man, just enjoy the sport since it's faster and better than ever. Have a good one.
Walter Röhrl was saying the same as you👏👏👏👏respect from Slowenia
Naaah not so true. Drivers wasnt talking so friendly about gr B. Cars that time. Yes nowadays cars are much more gaaay hybrid/electric. But when drivers push limits on stages with you standing close to road... Yes you still know what's going on and why you want chase those cars to ser them on stages.

Where are Lancia, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Audi, Opel, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Daihatsu, Nobuhira Tajima and his Monster Racing Suzuki? What kind of a WRC is this without so many Manufacturers not taking part?? Where is SEAT? Where is VW? Where is MINI? The FIA should put the WRC on a ten year sabatical to enable global manufacturers to re-tool and then have a WRC with a full house of manufacturers. A WRC with ONLY two manufacturers (M-Sport is not a manufacturer team) is a major farce!!!

the worst fakin live ever for the second time why you guys mix onboard with another interview why that we cant enjoy a fakin clear on board or what
And live is also quite a strech as they mix onboard and outside clips out of order. Of course practically none notices this but as one who lives close to the stage and knows this road it is annoying.
