Just a note on the adjustable windshield , I think that riders over 6 ft notice a slight improvement in buffering however, I added a windshield extension and that was a huge improvement .
I test rode a Tracer 900. One of my absolute favourite bikes. I wish I could have bought it. If the pillion comfort was adequate for us, I would have bought it.
While it might not win any beauty contests, it definitely outshines the KTM .. Every time I park my 9GT, I can't help but glance back and contemplate if it's time for just one more quick spin 🙂
I think the bike looks beautiful! Sporty looking and not too big. I will definitely be looking back at it. Especially after I put all the aftermarket products on it when I'm done.
@BikerTorque My wife and I are looking to buy this bike next month. From my experience with owning a 20' MT-10, I plan on adding different adjustable levers, chain tensioner blocks, a 520 conversion kit sprockets with a gold EK 520 3D GP chain. Replace the front screen from Yamaha that's taller and better shaped. And of course, frame and axle sliders. And a full Akrapovic exhaust system with the ECU flashed. Maybe other things as well but won't know until I have lived with the bike first. Once the stock tires wear down, will be changing them for Michelin Road 6"s.
I don't think I saw mention of service intervals like valve adjustment, oil change, ease of servicing the air filter, observed fuel economy or other accessories that might be available.. When you compare top heavy feeling between bike A and bike B, it would be good to show where is the center of gravity. I did appreciate the rolling shots of seeing this in action. I noticed one rider appear to have their shoe laces quite loose which is not good. I did this and the lace loop got caught in the shift lever and just by shear luck I was able to get it un hooked. Something I learned to pay attention to. Keep them laces tucked away!
Thanks for watching. That’s a good idea to show where the COG is, shall keep that in mind for future videos. And yes, we did notice after filming that Tegan’s laces where flapping about, have addressed that
Was looking at HD. But then I saw this at my local powersports dealer. The Tracer 9 GT+ has everything I want. And honestly has more (adaptive cruise-more storage space/quick shifter) than HD…. For $10K cheaper. You don’t have to add hand guards (these actually feel like they are good for what they’re meant to do), heated grips/seat without having to spend an extra $4000.
Much better bike than any Harley I have ever ridden, having said that I have only ridden a few Harleys, might need to talk to them about getting on some modern Harleys to compare.
Yamaha... I agree with the observation that a shaft drive would elevate this bike. Had a 2019 Tracer 900, have a 2022 Tracer 9 GT, would trade again if a shaft was available.
Haven’t ridden the Tracer 7, but based on the engine, even though we really liked the MT07, both LAMS and HO, the triple from the Tracer / MT / XSR 9 range wins hands down. Total hooligan machine.
Didn’t include that because we haven’t ridden it yet, but based on our experience with the M1000R i would suspect we’d love that one also. Hoping to get one for a ride this year.
@@BikerTorque Fingers crossed you get a ride on one. After owning the S1000xr I couldn't resist the temptation of the M1000xr with the full 200+ h.p engine. I have a ducati streetfighter V4SP atm but the suspension is back breaking!
@@Herby-99 the engine in that whole R, RR, XR range is superb and surprisingly for a 200+ HP bikes very easy to get on with. I’d have an M1000R in a heart beat, a) if I had the room in the garage, and b) if I had a spare $40K AUD floating around. Enjoy your new ride, fingers crossed we get one this year.
I didn’t realise how much electronics are packed into this. Wow. Definitely not for me. Definitely old fashioned. That engine is a pearl though. Oooft! Those panniers are such an odd shape. Big, but useless. Insert your own metaphor here.😂😂😂
@@BikerTorque that’s definitely a good thing. Unobtrusive. Yes! I’m still very much of the old fashioned mindset of having too many electronics, too many computers, too many things to go wrong.
WHY in the WORLD would anyone want the extra weight and complexity of a powered windshield ? LOL...seriously?? Like how often would you even change it? I almost never change mine I mean WHY? It is EASY anyway....what a dumb thing to nitpick
Signed for mine this week. Can't wait!
Nice one, enjoy.
Glad you mentioned advantages of shaft drive on opposition, many testers overlook this
For me, it's pretty much a must have on any type of touring bike

Yes, I have heard the extender makes a difference.
Get mine in 5 weeks, can't wait!!
Enjoy.
I've never known Ross to not enjoy Japanese design. Learning a lot from this channel
Right on!
Always enjoy your reviews, even for bikes that don’t really suit me. Thanks folks. :)
Glad you like them!

Can't comment on the comfort of the pillion seat on this one, I think Tegan said it was OK, but she was only on it for about 20 minutes
@@BikerTorque Mary-Anne and I are not your average sized couple. 😉
Definitely a practical bike. But one you probably won’t look back at once you park it.
That’s probably a very accurate assessment

@@hjmoto what aftermarket parts are you adding?

You guys look awesome in front of the brick wall !!
Hey Dudy, thanks, but is it really a brick wall, lol

@@BikerTorque I rode the Heritage and the FXLRST. Both of which I loved. But at the price point the Tracer is hard to beat
Ok why do we see the silver/blue paint combo??!! All we are offered is the Storm Gray/bronze combo. Is the other color combo only available in Europe?
Can’t answer that sorry, this was the bike supplied by Yamaha Australia.

Yes, it’s the only thing this bike is missing as a serious touring machine. Still a great bike though as is
Drive shafts are for cars 🤣
I think this would look better without the panniers. Handy to have them though.
Definitely looks better without the panniers
I would rather have the Tracer 7, considerably cheaper at $15,999 Australian pesos. Comparison video? But, if money didn't matter. . . well who knows.

Forget the bike. Those boot laces make me nervous. Get some proper biking boots please...
They are actually motorcycle boots, but yes have addressed the laces issue. Thanks for watching

Actually the powered windscreen works really well on the BMW R1250RT. Thanks for watching.
Nice bike but too expensive for most riders.
I think if you are in the market for a new sports tourer then the price is justified.
