Having been to India five times, staying with Indian friends in many parts and working in a School for the Deaf….also a big Bollywood fan…when I first saw this movie I was amazed that an American made movie about India that actually got it right! Funny and decent…I can watch this movie over and over.
Are you a teacher?
Most Indians wouldn't call this film decent by any standard. On the other hand, they may very well call it salacious. 😅
The actress who plays Asha has a very special type of attractiveness . Not sure whether it is her smile, her personal demeanour, but she is a beauty beyond limits in her own individual way.
A very balanced movie. Did not undermine any culture, be it American or Indian. Genuinely showed the good and the not so good about both cultures. Also they took a very serious subject and portrayed it in a very calm way.😄
Very well said.🥰
Love this movie you are spot on FYI don't watch the show it missed what the movie was about
I think this movie was stereotyping Indian culture in some ways: Indians have long hard-to-pronounce names, Indians are only people who just subjugate Americans to their culture with Indian dances, music, and rituals, showing poor places of India, and that Indians don't use perspective-taking. I don't really care about the film that much. 😔
I really like this movie. Reminds me of my memorable travels to different parts of the world. Yes, I experienced cultural shocks, jet-lags, but all worth it! It is amazing how much our bodies can adapt. I hope that there will be Part 2 where he will be able to marry her.
Saw this, still remember it, and when I was looking for it, I found it now. Thank God for the Internet and thanks for uploading.
My husband saw this some time ago on a plane and has been trying to have us watch it ever since... but we couldn't find it! He adores India and its incredible culture. Thank you for posting.
I chose to watch this movie tonight specifically because it is charming, lovely, happy.
I've seen it before. It will leave you with a sense of well being.
Not that there are not problems in the world. But perhaps a different way of thinking in how to overcome them.
I just watched your movie here now. I loved the television show and never knew there was a film made before it. It was very enjoyable and I love how warm, kind, and welcoming the Indians are.
Sadly the subject of the movie is outsourcing an American business to India. I enjoyed the music, people and the scenes of India. Also learned a little more about their culture. Nice story.
It's nothing like India. Some aspects yes...some
@@mariesahota1478 have you been there?
Sounds like my old job (IT) ..... Outsourced to India and Northern Ireland
Loved this movie. Brought back memories of India and the wonderful people and times I had there.
Awesome and WELL acted movie - i went to India several times and this IS what it is like - LOVED TO GO and LOVED TO LEAVE !
People who worked in a typical call centre can relate to the movie easily. Well directed🙌
I watched this movie at least 20 times. But this is the first time after working a job as a teaching assistant. I have gotten a new perspective of how stressed out he really was. When a woman is crying, the other is hitting on female callers, the other is wandering off. Yeah, I have to deal with that every day now. It's hard work. Glad to have gained a new perspective on this favorite movie.
Don’t forget he’s also trying to sleep during the day and not succeeding. Very difficult when working 12 hr shifts
Love this movie. Watched it twice already. Reminds me of all the days spent in adventurous ,colorful India when i go back to India.
I enjoyed this movie so much. All the colors, different, original unpredictable situations, believes make our stay among India unforgettable time in your life.
Yes IT did.🙏💕
I watched this in college, at my latest job I am working in a customer facing role and this just hit me out of nowhere, glat to have rewatched it with new perspective, customers are a pain but the few minutes of Asha's role has given me so much perspective! It's all smart work.
Excellent movie, sadness of outsourcing covered over, yet still a heart touching and well done story about making friends around the world...a real treat. Thanks for uploading this.
Will you be my friend ?
So very grateful to the uploader for this gem.I have been a massive fan of it's show and alas I finally got to watch the movie as well!!
Such a treat to discover this movie today...just what I needed. So heart warming and reassuring for me...I have always wanted to travel to India, yet know that now I can't...I have now traveled to Morocco to experience a new culture and been on lockdown pretty much the entire time. We must be open to learning and understanding other cultures and the best way is to live it. Since the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, I have not enjoyed a movie as much ....thank you for sharing this.
U must visit India.....U r most welcome to my country!
You might like Namesake! Or Life of Pi
what a brilliant watch. came here while searching for the same tv show, and ended up watching the entire movie. The transition in Todd's character when he stops resisting India and starts accepting it is so well written an portrayed by the actor. Very likable characters and storyline. Kudos
Did you see the series as well? How is it?
@@sakshigupta7616 hey! yes, its a very funny take on the topic. Similar characters but since its a series, you see more of their qualities and characteristics throughout. A couple of sidekicks added to the current bunch like a an Autralian girl who is also an outsourcing boss for another company, an amrican guy with another company, Gupta as a very funny employee and others. I think it was really good. Less emotions, more comedy
WOW. How Wonderful is this! Well written, well acted, well photographed. It makes me SO homesick for India.
Me too !!! 😔😌
@@parinitmarquard6367 It inspires my own Stories of India. I would love to return someday.
Culture shock is a thing, even if the people in the country you're in speak the same language as you. And what's also shocking is how quickly you can adapt to a new culture and miss it when you leave.
The famous reverse culture shock
Yes 😭 happened to me when moving from Puerto Rico to North Carolina
Great rather underrated movie. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for posting it.
Wonderful movie. I must've watched it at least 6 times as I rewatch it with anyone who hasn't seen it. Can't wait to watch it with my niece and nephews when they're old enough.
That was a very beautiful surprise! This movie will stay in my mind forever!
A wonderful film. Very evocative, very charming and real. India like everywhere, is now less charming and interesting under the onslaught of ‘globalisation’.
The 2000s and 2010s were a tough time in America. 9/11 just happened and China was admitted to the WTO which fueled globalization. Most the capital that would normally go into the US was going to China. Also, the US was in two wars. The capital that came in was mostly going to real estate which along with bad government policy, it fueled a bubble that popped which made things very rough for the 2010s. The wars and the bail outs caused the US dollar to devalue massively. Now the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine are somewhat reversing globalization. I hope this global inflation gets better.
Really enjoyed this movie. Makes me want to go to India to experience it for myself. 😁💗
One of the best movies regarding outsourcing, which I have witnessed my employer do multiple times, culture clash, its spiritually moving and very funny, superb!
Great film , I was chuckling till the end !
holy... that woman is incredible, and I hope to see her in more films. her entire face and her expressions are just... incredible and unique. I don't have words. if I did it would be a short novel. our protagonist has a strong hint of edward norton in fight club, along with the journey of self realization. bravo, as they say. LOVED it and I'm likely to rewatch soon and catch any nuances I may have missed. So good.
Love how he learned to say no problem and realised it's actually true towards the end.. 😀😀
I am Indian and i grew up and live in America. There are things in American culture that India can adopt, whereas there are many things from Indian culture that USA can adopt 😁❤️.. nice cultural exchange
India needs to learn a lot from American work ethic
What a fantastically funny movie! So real n super entertaining! Not one bit is exaggerated...seriously, typically Indian 😘👌🏻
Yes true...l
Toke to hindie
I’m insane for Indo-Pakistani culture. When anyone says they’re “bored,” I tell them look into Indian literature (OMG), Gujarati music, Carnatic singing. The food, movies, different areas (If you’ve had your fill of Lucknow, there’s always Ludhaina! I know a boy from the Lawyer caste!) Recently blown away by Pakistani Quwwali music, only to have my heart stolen by Pashtun songs, with their tin drum. Boredom not possible.
I don't get tired of watching this movie over and over, great movie
The boy offering his seat and then sitting on his lap in the train 😂
Lovely movie. I love bollywood movies too. Love the Indian culture. Thank you for sharing
I can relate to the burger scene well. Living in UK, I missed Indian meal. Nice movie.
Outsourcing isn't really a solution to unemployment. Is it?
we really, really, really enjoyed this movie. thanks a million!
Our pleasure, Bruce!
Wonderful movie. Money isn't everything. Happiness and being contended with what you have is. Thank you so so much for downloading.
1.22.00 typical India... I liked that they captured Indians so well in this scene ❤️❤️❤️ loving the story writer for this ❤️❤️

One of the best movies I have seen in a while
Thank you for uploading this 👍
RUclips movies is still charging a fee after almost 17 years 🙄
Thank you for making this masterpiece piece movie...
Thanks to all the actors and actresses.
The series of this film was good too!
What I like too - is the working to make the customer service reps feel comfortable. Having worked call center work for many years, and seen outsourcing happen. Things like selecting a name 'Brian Lincoln' when the accent is very clearly not matching. I would rather speak with Ashokh. They are working to make a living too, and unfortunately it has proven true that in some countries labor is 'cheaper' than for example America. It's an exceptionally frustrating thing to see both sides of it. Bottom line matters to some companies more than the product or customer base. The movie points out some very real issues. The foreign manufactored product versus 100% American made and sold - there was a distinct price difference. Also it speaks to something else - ageism. Puru looking at the fact he was not as young and more 'management' material versus just call center peon. It's not as easy to get a job, and one that was paying as good as the company was. Even though from an American standpoint the pay was almost laughable. Respect the culture of the employees, have fun and play! I dare say that I would LOVE to see Americans celebrate much as they show in India during Holi.
Plus, having worked for a company that I didn't much care for in the past - it made me think about how I was miserable yet hanging in there because of benefits, et cetera. Embrace life - sit with a family and share a meal, do a job with joy in my heart. Have fun!
The most balanced view of everything that plagued the situation back then. No Indian likes to use a pseudonym that he/she doesn't relate to.
Basically, this movie is a US made dish served in an Indian plate.
The directors have just tried to put all American stereotypes of Indian in a single movie.
My fav part is when he is explaining about branding the burgers. In America we brand beef "you burn initial into the cow?" Oh don't worry we only do it to baby cows
Yes! OMG! Lol!
Not to mention the people’s reaction to that
This is a terrific movie, including experiencing the charming aspects of India. Everyone got what they wanted before the movie finished.
Amazing, beautiful movie. The wonderful song that starts at 42:05 is called 'Take the plunge' (by BC Smith).
One of my favorite movies ❤Thank you for uploading!
Thank you... This is one of the most enjoyable movies I have seen in a long time!
Watched this movie back in 2008 or 2009. I never knew that I will become a call centre employee later on in life. When I saw the call centre life myself, I would often recall this movie as I noticed the similarities shown in this movie wth reality. But there were many exaggerations too, like that cow standing in the office building, or the half built office being operationalized. Today I watched this movie again and relived those memories. Old times.
One of my go to movies....love the culture shock, call ctr setting was kool....music was awesome...
I've seen this movie when I was 1st year in middle school long time since then 😊
🥳😙
When employees meet their given target then companies expectations goes high that makes employees life hell.
Loved the movie 💕 Why i didn't see this till now!? Feeling good..
What a fantastic movie! Good timepass!! Very Real!!!
Such a beautiful movie. why i didn't find this master peice earlier. underrated cinema
1:05:46 “You’re standing downstairs at reception with that sleazy guy, and he’s saying this room is not available and that room is not available; and you just say ‘Oh’”. 🤣🤣

You're welcome 😊
So so good!!! Thank you ☺️ Needs a part 2!🙏💕🇨🇦
There is a 1 or 2 season TV Series by the same name and on same theme that I found more enjoyable. Worth a watch
@@kugytube8888 ooooh! 🥳Thank you!! 🙏🏻💕
Loved this movie, it could have gone in a very trite forced comedic direction, instead I'm assuming anyway, that it became very real. Thanks!
I just LOOOOVVVEE Indian food and these movies make me want to go to India. Unfortunately my health prevents me from doing so.
Somehow, this movie just made me sad. Everyone's jobs get outsourced so Big Corporate can exploit workers wherever they can be most exploited, a good number will never find a living wage job again . . .but it's all good, right? So long as we focus on unrequited love v impossible dreams like getting paid for your production value. Meh 😕
@Spring Lemon I think the wealthy and powerful are hitting the rest of us from every angle possible in their bid to make the majority permanent peasants.
@ Natalie Williams. It's called Capitalism. Uncontrolled, all the wealth (= power) ends up in the control of the Few ,who then control the rest of us.
Basic economics teaches that Competition between many companies is great for consumers.
but the way to make the most money for the least outlay is to have a monopoly or artificially create one (Branding Advertising) then Outsource production and staffing to the cheapest possible area use the cheapest components that will do the job but can't be repaired if it stops working and price it at " whatever the market will bear" ie. luxury prices.
A nice shiny Apple , anyone?
Roger Jenkinson who controls the market??? The consumer it's you not big business you gave them power you can take it away ever so simple you just don't buy they don't sell one there on welfare as there company failed there stock is worth nothing they owe back taxes for the company
I watched the Outsourced comedy on NBC this is a great movie.
Asif Basra's sudden demise brought me here.
Great movie of cultures bonding Excellent art imitating life🙂✌🏾
