  • After cleaning out the motor it is time again to try to start the Series 90 Monarch lathe. Unfortunately we are in the middle of a "Polar Vortex" and well below normal temps and that makes the lathe a bit contrary. Regardless after a few tries i got it running!! I checked all the gears and everything sounds good. There is still lots of cleaning to do and more repairs to make but this is a major milestone and I was excited to see that my American Rotary Phase Converter was able to start the load even though it is larger than what should be run on it. I go over doing a spindle inspection and cleaning up and mounting the 32" Atlas chuck. Slow RPM's never seemed so fast!! Thanks for watching and I hoped you enjoyed!!
