First Run of the Big Monarch Lathe and 32" Chuck Install

After cleaning out the motor it is time again to try to start the Series 90 Monarch lathe. Unfortunately we are in the middle of a "Polar Vortex" and well below normal temps and that makes the lathe a bit contrary. Regardless after a few tries i got it running!! I checked all the gears and everything sounds good. There is still lots of cleaning to do and more repairs to make but this is a major milestone and I was excited to see that my American Rotary Phase Converter was able to start the load even though it is larger than what should be run on it. I go over doing a spindle inspection and cleaning up and mounting the 32" Atlas chuck. Slow RPM's never seemed so fast!! Thanks for watching and I hoped you enjoyed!!
