    Not so much combo kits. but what I've always wanted to see at harbor freight is individual tools. It would be nice to be able to get a random missing socket replaced without buying a kit.

      I’ll never buy another cordless Bauer anything. I have a couple of their drills and the they are so wobbly plus the batteries randomly shut off when they still have one or two bars showing. I’m heavily invested in the Kobalt XTR and that is leaps better than my Bauer’s.

    I honestly would like to see a 'build it yourself' combo kit, where you select, say, 3 tools, a couple batteries and a charger, at a discount from the individual price so you can make a kit that's all killer, no filler.
    Oh, and Bauer cordless ratchets.

      At least at my store, we do have a promotion for both Hercules and bauer that you buy a 5 ah battery, a specific charger, and then you get the tool discounted. It discounts each piece to where you get the tool for free basically. That's really the only thing, though. Recently we've even started doing it with our atlas outdoor tools, but it doesn't include the charger. Just the big 40v/80v battery and a tool

    I burned up my old grinder 2 weeks ago and needed one to strip a hotel pool floor. I picked up a Hercules just to try it out and I was impressed. It stripped the entire floor and still works as it should. Pretty much it ran under load continuously for about 18 hours. I honestly didn’t expect it to survive.

      I agree, Doc! I was quite surprised when I found out that I couldn't do that.
      This might seem petty, but, I stopped by my HF on the last day of one of their sales, and found a good deal on a large item that wouldn't fit in my daughter's car. It was nearly closing time, and I asked if I could just pick up the item in the morning with my truck. The employee told me that they couldn't do that, because it wasn't in their inventory anymore. I didn't understand what difference that would make, but I didn't ask.
      After convincing my daughter it would be ok, we put some cardboard on her trunk and roof, and slid it up on top of her car. Had to buy some on sale ratchet straps, but we got it home.

    I like the idea of kits. What I'd prefer is the option to buy the kit with or without a charger. I already have two Hercules chargers. I keep the extra one in a drawer for when the first one quits working. I really don't want or need any more chargers. More tools, extra batteries? Yes! Additional chargers? Nope! It's just one more thing to store or give to the thrift store.

    • @ctrlaltdebug

    It makes the most sense for Harbor Freight to go after certain types of people. For example a mechanics set with a cordless ratchet, an impact, batteries and maybe a drill?
    With the Bauer ratchet coming it could be done for Bauer and herc.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 6 месяцев назад

      I'm not a mechanic but just with my own vehicle and equipment maintenance a combo like that would be very useful for people....if they're just getting in to the tool platform and need those tools, it would be a great combo to pickup for sure. Maybe they could do something like that and include the socket sets, or at least say 5-10 percent off the socket sets when you buy the combo tool kit.

    @christianlucas6553 6 месяцев назад +4

    Hey Bear! Happy to see you back on your feet, buddy!
    As for the question of the day, I'm actually NOT a fan of combo kits.....
    Hear my out......typically, the combo kits include items that never get used.
    Sure you get lots of tools for a discount, but in reality, some of those tools end up in the trash.
    On the other hand, i like the package deals like they are running right now. Buy a 5amp and charger for $99, and get a free tool.
    What would be even cooler, buy a 12amp battery and dual charger and get 2 or 3 free tools including all cordless tools. Like EVERY TOOL!
    The cool thing about HF is, they are able to be more creative than any other manufacture!
    Imagine this......
    Buy a 12amp battery and dual charger, and get any cordless tool and a packout tool box for free!
    Yeah buddy! They can mix it up because they have that flexibility that nobody else does!
    Or even this......
    They can release an ICON Pro Mechanics Set which has 400 to 600 piece tool set, and get a free 56" ICON tool box!!!!
    Come on man!!!!
    How cool would that be!!!!
    Last month I purchased 2 72" series 3 boxes, 2 30" carts, every single hercules tool that was included in the buy a battery and charger get a cordless tool free, the hercules miter saw, the herclues table say, tons of ICON wrenches, all 3 sets of the Quinn impact sockets, 1 6" Doyle vise/anvil, lots of painters supplies, nearly every single ICON and Doyle plier set, the Doyle screwdriver set, and im sure im missing some items.......after all my discounts and taking advanyage of the additional 10% with my HF Card, i walked out just shy of $7K.
    Now, my point is.....just because HF caters to the frugal shopper, doesnt mean there are not deep pocket guys who shop at HF. I can afford tool truck pricing, but i didnt get where i am today being that guy. I can careless about having SnapOn logo on my toolbox!
    The fact is, SnapOn, Milwaukee, name brands, etc.....are not worth paying 4 times what HF store put out.
    Since Hercules, ICON, Quinn, Doyle, even US General, have stepped up with options expanded, I truly believe more and more guys (and gals) will eventually realize the savings they can take advantage of moving away from the tool trucks and other over priced brands on the market!
    Bottom line, HF IS DISRUPTING the tool market!
    AND I LOVE IT!!!!!! 💯👊💪

    I only have one Herc 20v tool. But I stocked up on some 20v batteries in the last couple sales in anticipation of an expanded product line. • @jpulley
    @jpulley 6 месяцев назад +8

    I actually think most Bauer tools should be brushed. Or just don't phase out the brushed option for the brushless. For example a brushed recip saw @ $49 used to be even cheaper but that's a good buy. I'm fine with the brushed for what I do around the house. They have the brushless model for $64.99. I don't want to pay over $50 for one of these because if I was going to get into to heavy duty recip sawing I would grab my old corded Dewalt and saw all day. It's cool to have brushless but don't phase out the cheaper brushes options. I think if you really want a line up of brushless that's when they should encourage people to look at the Hercules line.

    Waiting for HF to offer a drum sander to woodworkers. Several years back HF had a book of non-stocked items that could be ordered. I miss that option. Back then I ordered a combination sander (6x48 and 12-inch disk) with cast aluminum disk guard and two milled cast-iron tables for $239. Today equivalent sanders start in the high hundreds.

    What I'd like to see at harbor freight for their combo deals, is something like RadioShack had back in the day with the accessories on cellular. The 10, 20, 30% discount incentive. An example, you buy a tool and battery and the next tool or battery (or charger) would be 10% off all of them, add another tool 20%, and the third tool 30% off. Even add other accessories like toolbags into the mix or as a add on to the kit.

    I started with Skil some years ago then every time I would go to buy another tool it was only available in a $120 kit when I only wanted the $70 tool so I ended up with another brand that was running a special that weekend. Today I'm in 5 different lines because kits drove me away from buying the tool only.

    Jeff, I am a HUGE fan of the BAUER line of tools, and I have already built my own combo kit, but I would buy one of these in a heartbeat to leave at my daughter's home in another state when I go visit and do "Daddy' jobs for her. She & her husband just bought their first home, and I am packing for a trip there to do some jobs for her. If there are any "HFT Spy's" checking this, I would love to see a "Pro-Press" and PEX-A tools, I feel they could be a big hit (I know they would for me). furthermore, I would love a true "Main-Line" sewer snake with at least 125'-150' long snake. Rigid makes a snake that has an infinite cable capacity as you can add extra sections of cable to get the desired length needed. I'm sure I could think of more items...

    I’m very curious of the Quinn bolt extractors. I just had to use a similar item to get the rear differential cover bolts off my truck. They were very rusted. Luckily I had 2 brand new sets of Craftsman and Irwin. IMO the Irwin was superior over the craftsman’s. Had sharper cut in edges. Came in a nice box. The craftsman’s did come with the impact bit tho. But they were one use and just not as sharp and spun on the bolt head. The Irwin showed wear also but I feel they still can be used again. So I’m definitely interested in how well the Quinn are made and how sharp the internal edges are.

    I wish they would extent the warranty on Hercules plug in tools.
    I don't see the point in a cordless porta band but may go cordless just to get the longer warranty.
    I guess I should look up what the extended warranty on the plug in one would be next time it goes on sale.

    Bought a cordless Chicago electric impact driver about 12 yrs ago. Loved it. Used it until the ni cad battery died. The cheap blow mold case was alright too until it's hinge came un done. But because it served me well, I replaced it with the new at the time Hercules one. This was GREAT!!!! Li bat. And a SOLID blow mold case with super tough hinges, metal closing latches and a well thought out inside for the tool, charger, batteries and stuff. Soft tool bags AREN'T the same. The don't store away nicely and they don't protect the same. Now I'm stuck trying to find an ammo can or lunch box to put my recent purchase in. C'mon folks... it's just plastic. Not to mention HF won't be getting any additional advertising when this new tool is stored in an un labeled ammo can. Love my Hercules case!!!

    I bought a pair of Harbor Freight's LED stick lights with the magnet on them so you can work under the hood of a car or truck last year. I noticed back in December while using them & the built in charger for the batteries the battery charger portion took a dump & I went to Amazon and purchased a combo pack of matching batteries for the lights plus a charging pack for the batteries. The two lights had the engine bay of my truck lit up like high noon at 10 p.m. here in MN. Said lights are their Braun stick lights.

    This is kind of switching gears, but of all the things I've purchased from HF, I am totally happy with the cordless LED trailer light set I purchased. I hmm'd and haw'd because of the $150 price tag, but they have been the most useful. They boast around 100 or 150 ft reception. My co-worker and I tested them in the parking lot at 800+ ft, direct line of sight, before loosing signal. Especially great for my boat trailer, as my boat trailer lights were a nightmare to keep maintained. When done traveling, just put them in the convenient case they came with.

    I finally broke down and picked up the Daytona 3-ton Super Duty Floor Jack, in Purple. I've been eyeing one for a long time, and not that I have any functional issues with my current NAPA 3.5 Ton Jack. But I always wanted a second jack, and I need one that had a lower profile frame than my NAPA, so I can get under my performance cars easier. Ideally it's low profile enough so I can actually get it under the front and rear bumper for the center lift point, so I don't have to jack each side separately (it might still be slightly too tall, but I can use some roll-on blocks to get the car high enough for the center lifts points to be useable). I know technically the 3 ton Daytona Low Profile Extra Reach jack has a slightly lower minimal lift height, and a slightly higher max lift, but the rear portion of the frame is actually higher than the Daytona Super Duty. Plus I kinda prefer the build quality/features of the Super Duty a bit more. Specifically all the grease fittings, and shielded bearings on the front wheels. For $239, not a bad deal for that Super Duty Jack. I paid around $220 for my NAPA Jack about 7 years ago, they currently sell the same jack for like $500+ at NAPA.

    Mosquitoes 🦟 are not attracted to bug lights unless you add skiter hormone additives. You kill more good bugs, like moths. I know nobody likes moths,but they are the best night pollinators and serve an important part of pollinatoring plants at home and farming.

    What we don't see a lot of is kits catered to those who already have the core tools. Have a build your own 6pc combo where you have a base of the batts, charger and light and then the buyer can add 3-4 tools. We don't see current kits with band saws or grinders that often. Impact wrenches and rachets. Revolutionize the combo kit
