My favorite dishes in Vietnam are , bun thi nuong cha gio nem nuong , xoi bap, xoi dau den , com tam , com hen, Banh xeo, Banh cuon , Banh ep rolls , Banh beo, Banh nam , nem lui , bun rieu , Hu tieu , goi cuon , Banh canh , Banh mi , Banh Trang pizza ,Banh bao
It's good to see people whom respect the locals by calling this city by its "historical" name. Only ignorant tourists or Commie supporters call it by the new name. Have a good trip and good time for the rest of your travel.
0:36 “fish oil”?? You sure it’s not just hoisin sauce or fish sauce? Banh xeo and banh khot are eaten with the fresh veggies piled on the plate next to you. 14:05 those aren’t “egg noodles”. You sure you know what you’re eating?
Thanks so much for watching! We said fish sauce OR fish oil as we weren't sure! And we always ask the staff what we are eating to ensure, seems like an honest mistake. Appreciate that you have flagged those! 🫶
To properly do food tours in Vietnam, you will need to go to places that specialize in the dish. Restaurants that have all sorts of dishes like the ones you two went to mostly serve average dishes at best. Also, don't be afraid of veggies/herbs that come with the dish such as Bun Cha, Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, Banh Khot etc. Avoiding them takes away the heart of Vietnamese cuisine. Put half a spoon of chopped chili in the sauce first, and add more if you can handle the heat. Don't immediately dump too much in there and destroy your taste buds.

you guys ate the banh xeo wrong. the proper way to eat it is to cut off a portion and wrap it with the lettuce and then dip into the fish sauce
