I don't get why people hate on this song, like slipknot does have a soft song on every album since vol.3

For me this song is a perfect example of the great musicians they are. So well composed. So beautiful. I love Slipknot. Even if they started making jazz or country or a fucking orange cake, I would still love them not because I'm an obsessed fan, but just because they're so good, so professional, that no matter what they do, they do things that people like and appreciate.
I saw some "fans" writing negative comments about this song and how they "changed" and things like "they are not the same anymore" "Iowa was the real shit". Guys, they are the same, they're just evolving constantly. Of course they doesn't sound like the same old kids of the first album. Because they're not kids anymore!!! If you want that Slipknot, make a fucking time machine and stay there.
Slipknot is better than ever now. So instead of talk bullshit, just take a moment to appreciate their art because nobody lasts forever and the end of Slipknot sadly will come some day...

This is my fave track from the three released so far! Gotta love it when Corey uses his full range of vocals! I also agree that it's like a mashup of Killpop and Vermillion! Both your reactions were as expected and on par! 🤘

That interlude at the second half really gets me, reminds me a lot of Before I Forget's. Very Vol 3 vibes, and it's my favorite and first of their albums, really makes me happy
First time I heard this, all I heard was subliminal verses. And I love it
100% this is slipknot. The 3 first albums are no skipping songs for me, after that i have enjoyed the experimental stuff the most. I like the sound they are going for on this album, all the 3 singles has been pretty great.

I’m really liking the new songs from slipknot. So far from this album I’m getting volume 3 vibes from it . But heavier and more darker than volume 3. I’m also getting some 5 the gray chapter vibes. Can’t wait for the hole album to get released.

I wasn't too impressed with Chapeltown Rag or Dying Song but holy shit Yen is fucking incredible. One of their best songs in years.

I heavily agree. I’ve been a maggot since Iowa popped off and as much as I absolutely love the hard hitting punch you in the face shit they make, I gotta say I’m a sucker for their soft stuff. VOL 3 is my favorite album and this does have a vermillion type thing going on with it and vermillion happens to be one of my favorite songs by them. Anyway great reaction as always!
110% agree with you guys. Not every song, not every album has to be heavy, doesn’t have to be self titled or Iowa. My favorite thing about this band is their ability to grow and evolve even after over 20 years of a career. Loved this track.
Self Titled had Scissors, Iowa had Gently and Skin Ticket. Slipknot has always had softer more experimental songs.

I don't think being meh on this song means you aren't a true slipknot song. It has redeeming qualities, but just didn't really hit home for me. It's weird, because I do like experimental stuff they do, loved Spiders and wish they would do more like that one. It gave off a NIN vibe.

I’m sorry guys, I’m hoping you can take some negative feedback about this song or maybe this band in general. I’m trying, I’m really trying to get into this type of band. I just find them generic. Many songs sound alike. It’s to me like a rap song in metal form. I get the message but musically it sounds like other songs I’ve heard from them. Yes I’m a “black metal” fan and maybe I’m sounding ignorant, but at least I sat through a whole Slipknot song without turning it off. I’ve recently also got into “Atmospheric Metal “, very cool stuff.
If you like Atmospheric Metal try listening to their song "Iowa", it's quite the experience!
