I have been living in the province all year im middle age and its good for me now .the simple life i dont follow people i do things my way. Its good to have opinions to meet Expat just for that balance
Hi Chris, it’s Jon. I’ve been watching you from the beginning of your Philippine adventures, although I have not seen any of your Vlogs in a few weeks. I’ll be looking forward to seeing more of your adventures as I prepare myself to make them move to the Philippines in the not too distant future. One of my main concerns with living in the province is having access to my money. I want to make sure I understand the different options on this subject. Being somewhere alone and not having access to money is a big concern. Thank you for what you do!
Hey Jon, first off, thanks for watching-I really appreciate it! Regarding getting money out in the provinces, you can definitely access cash just like in any other city. There are banks and ATMs around. That said, I think it’s always a good idea to stay ahead of your finances and keep enough cash on hand to cover your needs.
@ thanks Chris that’s how I usually roll anyway but I do get paranoid not having a safe place to lock my money up instead of caring it on my person thank you pal.
having access to my money was a one of my major problems in the province and closet city in the Mindanao, theres no access in the province and the ATMs were out of cash most the time, i ended up sending myself a couple hundred bucks at a time thru Western Union
I spent all of December in the Philippines with a week in the middle in Thailand. Enjoyed Iloilo and Roxas a lot as well as Baguio. Not so much in Calbayog and Tacloban. Last 4 days in Manila was as usual not great.
Actually, Manila is better than your other cities Mentioned. Have you been to Parqal mall, Ayala Manila Bay, One Ayala, Glorietta, Okada, ridden MRT & LRT trains, Ermita, Binondo, Robinsons Manila, Rizal Park, History Museum, BGC, Makati, SM Auroa, the list continues. Even here near Nuvali I can drive the expressways to Manila. Plus the new CALAX line. Roxas is nothing but a small floating restaurant and Baguio is all traffic. Visit real cities with culture, entertainment and ethnic cuisines. Nuvali and Tagaytay come to mind. Especially twin lakes looking towards Taal with the cool breezes.
@ I’m sure all of these places are nice I Made the statement about Manila in error. I should have said, for me, I prefer smaller rural areas of mid-size or smaller.
having access to my money was a one of my major problems in the province and closest city (Gingoog) in the Mindanao, theres no access in the province and the ATMs in the city were out of cash most the time, i ended up sending myself a couple hundred bucks at a time thru Western Union
My husband was still.lookinh for warm water in the Philippines for shower. I told him the weather is very hot , no need for warm water. Atleast try it first.😅 Watching from sfo CA
There’s many other friendly countries in the world. I think Tanzanian people are more welcoming than Filipinos in a lot of ways. I think Indonesians are a little bit friendlier and definitely more lighthearted than Filipinos. But Filipinos definitely know how to have fun which puts them above a lot of other countries
@ check out Itchy Boots. She rode a motorcycle through many African countries. The countries I recommend are Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda. Nothing to fear there, just friendly people everywhere
Jim, I’ve been in Mexico for the last almost 3 years. I studied Spanish. I’m a retired widower 62 very healthy. I lived in Bucerias Nayarit not far from you in Puerto Vallarta. and I loved it. I’ve been to Vietnam a couple of times this year. I am back in Boston for the holidays, but Mexico, Monday for a couple of months then Cambodia five weeks then the Philippines. Was there a particular reason you left Mexico?.
@ thank you Chris. Enjoy riding I love watching your videos of the beautiful rides you take. I look forward to doing some of the same when I arrive. Peace man.
Good content, and there will always be pluses and minuses for city vs province life. I will disagree on the locals don't know the internet. The filipinos know facebook inside and out. They know how to post an ad on marketplace, albiet frustrating when they do not provide all the necessary information. They are glued to facebook, and most things are sold using marketplace. There are other apps for renting that is more geared towards foreigners wanting to live in the city, but outside cities marketplace is the main source of things selling or for rent Sometimes you can find something that was only found via word of mouth as well.
Another great topic/guest. Im looking for a nice place to settle down with great internet and marriage potential. Any suggestions. I dont drink. Still like working a lot.
Not that dramatic as you assume. I live in Batangas province. Last June I had abdominal pain coz of a long existing hernia. This condition can potentially get lfe-threatening. Monday into the hospital in our little town, Tuesday surgery, Wednesday out of hospital.... Completely alive. Follow up pain or complications - negative, as if I had not undergone surgery. And I am not the youngest with 70 years. I talked to the surgeon about the management of hernias and found out, that he is top notch informed on the latest medical standards.
@@CarefreeChris remote USA has paramedics, ambulances and trauma center locals. Unfortunately skilled medical paramedics in the Philippines is very limited. Let’s hope a tax base is created or other revenue sources are provided to improve emergency healthcare for all people in the Philippines
I watched a video today on cebu IT park. I couldnt focus on the video because of so many beautiful women there. Is it difficult to meet a marriage caliber woman there?

Yeah, I love it out here
Jim is a classy guy with a serious channel. Very professional
Great guy. Every time I’m with him, I learn so much about RUclips, filmmaking, and life in Southeast Asia.
Another good Interview!
Thank you
This was a great video Jim and Chris 👍👍🏝️
Thanks 👍
Chris, good idea to capture some of what you might be discussing anyway, on video. It's the little details that help.
Absolutely. We’ve been hanging out a couple of days and I’ve been saying we should record these conversations
Love the interview.
Thank you
Hi Chris , great interview. I like your guests point of view.
I agree. Jim has a lot of good insights.
I have to be honest you and I disagree about things, , but you are the most honest u-tuber in the Philippines.
No worries, I don’t mind when people have different opinions, especially when they’re expressed respectfully.
Very well said 😊👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

In this video I believe that Chris looks more handsome than in prior videos. I believe he’s been working out.
Been in the GYM and working out. Yes!
good topic
Thank you:)
you are correct about one thing to many Americans in Cebu, Most think their better than other people.
Yeah. As I’m going into my third year I’m liking the places that are less traveled

Haha! Yeah, it definitely gets hot here.
Leyte is a great location. I have a studio near Dulag.
Yes! I love it here

Yeah we found our current place on facebook marketplace. I think more what he’s pointing to is the real estate broker that exists in the bigger cities
I miss the Philippines- pristine crystal water beaches, beautiful islands, the organic non-GMO meat, fruits and veggies hayzzz
Absolutely

you can live like a king $2-$3 k a month, especially you do drink or smoke. my budget is 3 k a month I usually spend $1500 to $1800 a month
So many great options Matt. I’m a big fan of this coast of Leyte. Ormoc, Baybay, and Maasin are all great options.
Thanks guys.
What area are you living in for $1800/month? Is it pretty modern?
I have it good. I live what would appear a province life(without roosters) but near to city and all amenities.
Yeah. You have a great setup there for sure.
What province are you in for this interview?
This is in Palompon, Leyte
@CarefreeChris there's an air con coffee shop in palompon? I'm shocked... haha
a lot more easy to find a gf in province, but you will pay a lot
It’s so inexpensive out here in many ways
@@CarefreeChris It's cheap if you live like a Filipino, if you look for European standards of living it will cost you more or less the same.
Living in a province is the kiss of death when medical attention is needed.
No different really than living in remote USA

Most IT Park girls make good money and not interested in some fat disgusting Americans,
In the city it can be just because there are many community bicycles. I prefer dating in the provinces for that reason.
